How long did it take you to get good with the ukukele ? And are you self taught ? Any tips you could give to learn the ukulele ?

To me, it feels like I’m still trying to get good at the ukulele so I’m not sure haha. I’ve been playing for over 10 years now but I still have much to improve on. I took lessons for the first year or two when I started. Then I went and learned a bunch of stuff myself.
When you first start learning the ukulele, of course you want to learn the basics well but you also want to play things you like so you can stay motivated. The main things you can do to get better is to play, practice, and learn. Learning is especially important. Don’t keep on playing the same songs or parts of songs for months. Always strive to better your playing and seek new things to learn whether it be songs, technique, or even music theory.

There’s a lot of things that you can do but it really comes down to skill level and experience when trying to learn faster. The easier the content is for you, the faster you’ll be able to learn it. Also just trying to learn a lot of songs, with or without tabs would help you practice learning and eventually speed up the process.
