Back in my day… I would use dig/dragon claw garchomp. I called it stun lock. Cause dig’s hit would incapacitate for nearly .7 seconds. Then during dragon claw, they’re also left unable to act. Multiple digs would have made me unstoppable!!
Garchomp needs to get like % based move speed for every stack he has or something. A fully stacked garchomp should be the fastest mon in the game since he needs to auto to do a majority of his damage. Unless they turn earthquake into slow smoke basically
Or they could make Dig a Fly type move where you actually dig around and move. Enemy Earthquakes do 2x the usual damage if Garchomp is underground. Actually, the seems pretty powerful for a lvl 5 move, but I mean we have mega evolve Mewtwo and his moves so I think it’s fair.
I am actually convinced that the Ground Build needs a rework. Make it a combo like the Dragon build but being more defensive oriented where Dig works like Fly while doing the same thing while Earthquake during Dig does more damage and gains defenses and shield. This build has potential to be a kinda defender frontliner but it needs rework sadly.
I think that could work, but they should make it so like garchmop couldn't spam dig continuously and make it a broken mon like zacian. And his earthquake should not affect flying type pokemons.
Im honestly sad that they did him like this most of the characters that came out when the game started, are bad now they can't keep up with most of the new characters now. They need to start buffing them at least so its fair for everyone to keep up with the other team, especially with mewtwos running around.

That allow him to restructures the team fights all with a lot of cc immunity with his unite moove and the dragon combo how that can be bad ? The only thing he need is a rework of the ground build.
I wish EQ got a combo move with Dig like either a slowing or damaging area affect while rushing and then jump out of the hole and smash the ground Garchomp just needs some slight buffs, ranged attackers easily bully it so maybe make dragon rush have longer range and a faster animation time to rush at the enemies and a small buff to both def I also have another idea for dig, instead of it acting like a dash, make it like Talonflame's fly, using it as an escape or ambush move, and when using EQ as you're underground, Garchomp jumps out, smashes into the ground and tosses enemies up amd cam use EQ again for bigger damage
I've been thinking about that since I started to play Garchomp. GroundChomp is straight up awful compared to the Double Dragon combo. With Dig, I had an idea running for a long time: "The user goes underground and becomes untargetable and inmune to hindrances, as well of getting its movement speed increased for a limited time. While moving, the user leaves a trail or erosioned ground that decreases the movement speed of any Pokémon that stays inside the trail. After a certain amount of time or when the user pushes the attack button again, the Pokémon will emerge from the ground, damaging all Pokémon in the area of effect and tossing them into the air for short time." Earthquake doesn't need much changes, maybe becoming a pounce move instead of just angrily stomping the ground.

Garchomp main here. But I play dragon rush and dragon claw. Garchomp is good at melee but bad against distance. He seriously need a buff on all his capacity because they have to much time to be reset and it don't do lot of damage. It's hard to play chomp on ninetails, inteleon because garchomp have nothing for go close to them...
For a melee, he is too squishy, until he gets his stacks. The combination from the 209303 CC in the game and his squishyness, makes him a bad melee. Thats why Mewshit and zacitrash are so much better. They got HP.

You can shut down Mewtwo early with using dragon rush to drag im into you base or allies, since most mewtwos play hyper aggressiv.
that plus make dig work like fly a bit, and make earthquake stun for at least 1 second with a slight bigger aoe like 10% bigger, plus make the dragon rush go further/charge faster by also about 10%

Earthquake honestly isn’t good enough to use offensively for chasing unless you’ve just dug a single enemy, because it is just so interruptible Only use it in one on ones after youve dug your opponent, or use it preemptively on an objective or area where you know the enemy will walk over, otherwise you’re better off just digging and basic attacking
I actually really enjoy this build. You play it safe and wait for the perfect time to dive all in. Like ALL in. If you don't burst them down, you're dead. But it's really fun

My ideas to buff ground garchomp would be to let dig not stop on the first enemy hit, and all enemies you run through will be knocked up. Maybe give this to Dig+. Earthquake should also be uninterruptible. Because it's hard to use as it is, and it's too easy to cancel it.

i played unite and having it come down to whose mewtwo is better fuccin sucks. also i remember garchomp being the first character i bought alongside the swimmer holowear with gems, in training mode its skills looked so cool and strong and yup, everything is strong in training i then found out that the ground build was... not good, at least not mainly because of the skills and instead because of the basic attacks and thus i never touched it again, rip wallet except for the raid gamemodes like boss rush and panic parade, then i play garchomp because its great at ripping and dig gives you defense and earthquake slows
Garchomp is only auto-attacks. Its skills are only to help team to bring back Altarias with dragon rush, stun enemies with dragon combo or stop/causing slow with ground moves.
Dig by itself is ok could give a bit longer def buff or something... earthquake on the other hand need some type of super armor or give it range like ninetales aurora veil .. idk
Imagine being Cubfu until you get Urshifu at lv 9. That’s what it’s like playing Garchomp and Tyranitar. What’s worse than that is you’re still not significant enough to carry. You get kited by Eevees and Cinder. Now you gotta run x speed battle item to fight mons that have x speed built into their moveset. The devs don’t playtest their game.
they made the pseudo legendaries hard to play with the current meta, I can't even play Ttar with a legendary just stepping on my face early game, If they are literally making legendaries broken, why not just buff the pseudo legendaries. (dragonite is an exception, idk about dragapult though, goodra is alright very tanky and bulky.)

Earthquake wont be it till rework. Even with over buffs. Dig claw is the only way to play some ground. Its actually good. No matter what u say cris. Chain stuns with dig, gives increased range, comes out no matter what (u still can get moved around with cc but it goes off still) second swipe hits decently hard. Comboes with razor if u hit a basic after dig and wait a sec for the claw (dragon combo loses cause d rush doesnt stun and its kinda bad as a fight tool other than engaging and scaping) Still. Ground chomp is BAD DIG CLAW IS GOOD BUT DRAGON COMBO IS EXCELENT. PD: Dragon quake is actually de worst set. Played it yesterday for a missclick and won. Still its the worts ever

Garchomp and Dragapult are indubitably 2 of the worst, useless, and liabilities in a team. Speaking of liabilities Dragapult is a bigger one than Garchomp is. Firstly, pretty much everything stuns, even attackers like gardevoir, Espeon has stuns, speedsters have stun for example Gengar and make you asleep, and if you encounter leafon you are dead on the spot. All-rounders also stun like Mewtwo X, and defenders and supporters are obviously made for stuns so there's no way that you can survive or carry using dragon dance. And the other built that makes it invisible is also useless because 1st it takes around 10 seconds to get the move back, and it's also not like Greninja that it blinds your opponent for a few seconds. You need to find an attacker alone to get the best of this move which is less likely in a team fight. Dragapult, and Garchomp needs massive buffs, as a pseudo legendaries they are even less than useless, people disgust them so much I never find these pokemons being picked in my team or the enemy team. Pretty much 9.9/10 time you don't find them because they make the win% of that match close to 10%. I myself is a blue badge Dragapult, I love it but it's useless. Even with full heal I can only use full heal once in 70 secs

6:13 Earthquake does 1009 at level 7. Zacian's non-boosted Sacred Sword does 1063 at level 5.

If Garchomp was at least given hinderance reduction at max stacks, that would be a good start to making it competitive.

I really think the only thing keeping garchomp from being a decent pokemon is just the fact hes way to squishy for what his kit needs to do hes supposed to be really good in long/extended fights but cant exactly do that in a meta of mewtwo and speical attackers where you get perma ccd into 1 shot and even outside of this meta hes still too squishy the real only thing garchomp can do efficently is kill tanks cause he has muscle band and he attacks really fast with life steal
Increase Chomps attack speed threshold. Chomp should be rewarded for maintaining continuous attacks.
Increase duration of the Def/Sp Def increase with dig.
Allow dig travel time like fly to reach distance mons.
Bring crit back on dragon claw makes
Garchomp need rework
• Passive: Now increase ATT speed and life steal base on level. (Old stacks boost attack spd = Garchomp level 13). Reflect 10% receive damage to all enemy around Garchomp as true damage (close range)
• Just like make Dig Move same as Rek Sai Tunnels
• Earthquake should have low to 6s, slow enemy outside border and stunning enemy + pull enemy close to Garchomp if it in center (work like E Attrox, R Oriana). After using EQ, Garchomp got 30% Damage reduction for 4s
🎉 New trick: Can use EQ while Digging
• Dragon Rush will reset when it assist/kill. Refund 50% CD when this move hit an enemy. Remove Damage Reduction effect
• Dragon Claw should be buff boost basic attack move, increase att range and next 3 basic attack will stun enemy for 0.1s
If garchomp was made now that earthquake would stun for each pulse and dig would be point and click

Dig claw is the only way to play some ground. Its actually good. No matter what u say cris. Chain stuns with dig, gives increased range, comes out no matter what (u still can get moved around with cc but it goes off still) second swipe hits decently hard. Comboes with razor if u hit a basic after dig and wait a sec for the claw (dragon combo loses cause d rush doesnt stun and its kinda bad as a fight tool other than engaging and scaping)
Still. Ground chomp is BAD

BUT DRAGON COMBO IS EXCELENT.
PD: Dragon quake is actually de worst set. Played it yesterday for a missclick and won. Still its the worts ever

Actually one of my friend plays this build very good does atleast 80-90 k DMG with a little support but definitely not against Mewtwo 😅

You played this build on garchomp for one match, I played it on garchomp every match. We are not the same.
I think Dig is a solid (not great) move.. Earthquake needs some serious buffs though. I can think of 3 options:
1) let EQ combo with Dig (like Dragon build)
2) make EQ animation unstoppable
3) give EQ mobility (like Ninetales AV or Buzz Mega Punch)
remembered when they nerf DIG in one week because it give to much def stat lmao.

Garchomp and Dragapult are indubitably 2 of the worst, useless, and liabilities in a team. Speaking of liabilities Dragapult is a bigger one than Garchomp is. Firstly, pretty much everything stuns, even attackers like gardevoir, Espeon has stuns, speedsters have stun for example Gengar and make you asleep, and if you encounter leafon you are dead on the spot. All-rounders also stun like Mewtwo X, and defenders and supporters are obviously made for stuns so there's no way that you can survive or carry using dragon dance. And the other built that makes it invisible is also useless because 1st it takes around 10 seconds to get the move back, and it's also not like Greninja that it blinds your opponent for a few seconds. You need to find an attacker alone to get the best of this move which is less likely in a team fight. Dragapult, and Garchomp needs massive buffs, as a pseudo legendaries they are even less than useless, people disgust them so much I never find these pokemons being picked in my team or the enemy team. Pretty much 9.9/10 time you don't find them because they make the win% of that match close to 10%. I myself is a blue badge Dragapult, I love it but it's useless. Even with full heal I can only use full heal once in 70 secs
I wish they reworked the ground moves. There is no point in playing that set when the dragon moves combo well together.
