I played Witcher back in 2015-2016 when it came to ps4 but couldn’t really get in to it but decided to get it and play again now since it was only 8 dollars and I’m actually really enjoying it now thanks for this build and general tips with upgrades 👍🏽
If your premise for the steel sword is the 3 percent kill chance then just get crafted flaming rose sword for the 3percent insta kill and additional 10 percent chance for stun and stagger which is better than that 3 percent kill chance because stagger is instakill for human enemies so for humans (which is the enemy type the steel sword is used against) stagger is effectively the same as instakill So in flaming rose sword not only that you get the 3 percent kill chance which is your main premise,you also get an additional 10 percent chance of instakill. Flaming rose is the better choice unless you are going for a critical damage/adrenaline build which in that case you might just get ursine steel sword for 100 percent critic bonus and 25 percent adrenaline bonus
I used this build once to get my Death March achievement, then I promised myself I wouldn't use it again in future playthoughs because it trivializes combat to the point of being a non factor in any scenario. But the title of the video is correct!
I just watched your build and setup it on my save. I just started NG+ on Death March to get the difficulty achievement. Even though the gear from NG gets outclassed early on in NG+, is it still worth keeping the gear equipped for the bonuses?
Naw, I would move to the ng+ Temerian set since it is light armor, asap. Or you could hold out for legendary griffin and play with small adjustments to the build or try something entirely new. NG+ really is just so you start the game with all the abilities you acquired. However it will still carry you a ways into velen. Congrats on finishing and I hope you get the achievement.
I’m pretty experienced with the game but I’m confused as to how your gear is so much higher in damage and protection? I am playing the blood and wine DLC currently and I’m Using both swords that you have and when I compare the two there’s a major difference in damage. Does this have to do with NG+ or leveling?
There are small, passive bonuses to stats, however the main source of power are abilities that multiply damage in the skill trees, runes that increase damage, and abilities from equipment especially entire set bonuses. You should have similar stats late game, first playthrough. And you also need to unlock mutation and use euphoria for nearly a 200% increase to all outgoing damage. Potions and decoctions also greatly affect stats albeit only temporarily. I hope that helps.
@robcas47 it has to do with NG+ and also leveling... Swords and gear that are acquired through exploring and NOT crafted by Diagrams will always depend on what level you get them (still much easier to get them in NG+ since u c an level up easier after restarting the story, and keeping the levels from 1st playthrough). Now about the gear acquired thorugh Diagrams; if you pause the vid when he's going thru his armour you can see it says "legendary armour" which can only be accessed thorugh NG+ and boosts the gear by 40levels from your level after you start the NG+ (for example if you end your original playthrough on level 60 the diagram gear in NG+ will be lvl 100 - which is the max, or if you end your original playthrough on lvl 50 it'll be level 90 on NG+, it doesnt make that big of a difference). Hope this helped.

I was completely bored with melting everything and barely ever drawing sword, plus looking like a pompous bloated Toussaint Knight so I was looking for something more interesting, heard Euphoria got nerfed in the update though so I didn't think it viable for endgame ng+ on DM. BUT, they gave us an out. With the new Forgotten Wolf Armor and Levity plus the fix and buff to Hunter Instinct (subbed that in for Fast Metabolism) I'm one or two shotting most everything. It's a glass cannon against bolts though so when fighting humans/non-humans I have to sub in Magic Trap for Crushing Blows and give up 15% attack power. The new armor brought Euphoria back to life. Thanks for the vid, liked and subbed.
Yeah man thank you. Forgotten is good for a wide variety of mutation too, it can be conductors of magic, magic sensibilities, euphoria, or to a lesser extent some of the others. Really fun to experiment with.

I was using both Conductors and Sensibilities with the Griffin Armor previously, literally melting EVERYTHING without pulling a sword lest I wanted to see a finisher, got bored AF. With this build and the new armor I'm seeing finishers every other enemy, tis meat for the beast. I used Forgotten endgame prior to ng+ for an Adrenaline/Whirl Build and it smoked everything too, but whirl is too hard to maneuver in crowds and gets old AF quick. I want to murder in style and look good doing it, body parts flying is my ultimate appreciation. As it should be with Top Notch Swords. Too bad there's no PvP, lol.
@@DanielsWindow331 I have a pretty cool bomb and crossbow build up if you really like gore, you can get hasta la vista all the time with northern wind and bolts, plus grapeshot explodes entire groups into meat rain. Easily my favorite for mayhem, I just wish there were more red barrels in the game. Nothing quite like exploding 5 dudes at once with a perfectly placed bomb lol

Watched your build videos. You may have already hit on this so I apologize in advance but which get set do you prefer? Noticed one build is feline and the other ursine
Really I like them all, I think the 3rd upgrade of bear looks the coolest, cat is the most broken, wolf and manticore are balanced but not really useful. Griffin is alright but only really shines at torching guards with igni, and viper needed a set bonus and upgrades like the others. I almost always build for cat simply because signs are pretty much worthless against monsters on death march. Like why does cat get raw damage AND a 100% increase to critical damage when bear only gets 25% to strong attack raw? The others are all medium gear if I remember correctly and med has the worst bonuses. I really only play cat because technically it's the most effective, I like the others I just wish they worked better.
You should probably replace the bleeding skill with something else. NG+ on deathmarch, it's not worth taking up a slot. Good vid though, very in depth.

I would argue some different decoctions but otherwise yeah, Such as the one that increases critical hit chance cause when you do that heavy attack charge charge the chances of it being coming critical go way up
Only from behind for doppler, as for other decoctions most seem completely pointless to me but a few are ok like the one that constantly increases stamina, however you could stick with troll, use the pierogi enchantment and the one that turns excess healing into damage, use swallow and gourmet and simply stack a ton more damage. I know this game inside out, think of this build as a solid foundation for several optimization paths.
@@optimusgrime8265 you can use a decoction which gives 50% attack power & 50% sign intensity!I don’t remember the name tho. Combined with the other 50% attack power decoction you already use you have +100% attack power.
@@kickboxingnikos The other decoctions only increase damage if you land a light,heavy then a sign, for 1, the 2nd increases damage for every sword hit dealt without taking damage and the 3rd increases damage while you fight. The only other static increase of 50% is only on horseback. None of them are really useful.
@@optimusgrime8265 I've never tried the bear build, maybe I'll try that on playthrough number 8 lol...I haven't done a broad sign build, but everyone I've even remotely focused on was completely OP-Quen, Igni and even Yrden can be beastly. Really all builds are super viable after dumping a few ability points, which is what makes it so replayable

Just recently played TW3 and i wanted to ask cause after getting the Viroledan sword, it has much lower damage than what you have got. Is this gear on NG+ or am i missing something
Yes this is ng+ you can get improved versions of every piece of equipment. Viroledan blade is there to cause instant death, it's attack doesn't really matter until it's 10 or so levels behind.
What do you think about running the Manticore gear for extra max toxicity? I would hate to lose the attack damage boost from Cat School Techniques by not wearing light armor.
@@optimusgrime8265 I figured it out, Levity on the manticore gear, paired with fast metabolism gives you the Cat School Gear bonus, while also allowing you too take 4 decotions plus 3 regular potions. Fast metabolism also allows you to keep popping potions as long as you wait a few seconds. Being able to pop additional regular potions, while also running 4 decotions makes Geralt super powerful. Especially if you are popping the right ones.
@@BeastReview Essentially that is exactly the same as my build however you gain a little bit of defense and lose auto quen. Ultimately do what makes you happy, that's the most important thing.
Would you get more overall attack or the same if you swapped the brown skill over the other two and put the red one back with the other two red skills on the bottom left of the tree?
No, 45% + 45% Would be 90%, same as 60% + 30% If you use the exact same abilities, no more, no less, than regardless of order it should be the same. Don't pair red abilities with green Mutagen for example, and you should be fine, it should look very close to mine however because they are exactly where they are for a reason.
Nice build I rather use the magician path and go with igni and aard, grifin armor, ancient leshen and tawny owl, and the mutation piercing cold. You can blast signs like its a machine gun, aard can one hit anemys or throw them to the ground giving you the chance to just kill them before they get up, most enemys that can't be tackle are vulnerable to igni so you burn them to a crisp igni does up to 27,000 damage at level 80, only constructs and spectrers are invulnerable to this build thats when I switch to a build similar to the one in this video.
I respect individual choice, but this build easily does 100k+ damage and up to 300k on an instant death attack. There really is no comparison. However if something makes you happy do that, no judgement here.
How is your armor rating for grandmaster Ursine armor higher than mine, do you have to make it again to have the armor rating increase because mine is only at 240 for just my chest piece and yours is over 300

I'm new to the game I got some few quest,treasure hunt, second quest not working. I'm slowly exploring the map each continent with out realising I already pick some quest item, treasures item etc. Now when I pick some treasure set like school of cat gear I cannot go through to master grade. I have some item but I don't have the diaphragm of the boots.
@@optimusgrime8265 I did got all of it except the boots. Last week I explore the site of the boots I think I got diaphragm but can't remember the detail since I focus on doing a witcher contract. I visited over again the location of the boots but I can't get it even I try to check it out at the journeyman armorsmith it doesn't appear on crafting, I can no longer access superior or even the master diaphragm on my treasure quest. I think I shouldn't have explored the map and picking all the loot items without taking the treasure quest 1st, I might get bug some few of quest including the feline boots and the superior, master grade diaphragm quest. I don't know what to do I might not be able to get final diaphragm of the feline set. I may be stuck at lvl 23 set armor.
@@optimusgrime8265 so I'm I no idea what's happening to my quest got some few my witcher contract that's doesn't work either one of it the lvl 24 water hag I don't have the potion to create and I'm stuck on it for 1hr. Just like my treasure hunt quest for feline set I have all the item except for the the boots and I cant get to further superior and master grade diaphragm on that quest. I maybe create another account back to start.
High level potions and decoction help a bit, but mostly good armor, lots of dodging and that said it's not easy until you memorise enemy weakness. It's a mode for witcher freaks basically.
Depends, northern wind is the most exploitative. It guarantees criticals and has a high chance of dismemberment. If you're looking for something to abuse that's the one you want.
The mutation called Euphoria, it multiplies all damage by your current toxicity. I use ONLY the manticore trousers, because even with the full manticore set you cannot have 5 decoction active. If you use my exact setup, you will have 4 decoction active for almost 40 minutes, and you can use every potion which will last around 3 minutes each. This gives you between 160-220% Sign intensity & Sword damage. You can push it even higher with runes and enchantment comboes, up to almost 300% but there is no point really when you can 1 shot almost every enemy in the game upscaled on death march.

@@imsetychristophe6356 Actually no, lol, In Toussaint, the main city there is a somewhat obscure quest, basically just go to the docks area and look for an npc around a bunch of pools of dye, the whole area will be covered in paint, then buy some dye, it will give you a couple and the ability to craft them. Alternatively just find dye in the open world and use it on your armor. keep in mind it only works on witcher gear, cat, bear, griffin etc. Hope that helps.
Its funny how you are level 96 with 119 hours meanwhile I am here on my first playthrough level 50 I think with 123 hours, finished the game I think completely (as in all side quests).
You have to craft it, and it requires that you complete 4 cat school scavenger quests, to start from the beginning buy maps from swordsmiths or armorers
At 3:23 you talk about not to unlock the whole mutation tree and just get euphoria but don't you still need to unlock them all in order to get the extra 4 skill slots for the green tree skills that you suggested to use (heightened tolerance, acquired tolerance, synergy, fast metabolism)?
Simply put the build won't be finished until then but most won't put forth the effort. You should focus on the raw damage part of the build first and multiply damage with alchemy, later if you can.
How is your toxicity is 311? I'm only managed to 298 and this way i can drink 3 decoction only.I'm lvl 45 rn and missing some point in the alch three. But i have the torelance talent maxed. Thank yoou for your answer and the build aswell! @HELLBEAST
Hi. I'm a bit confused as to how the decoctions work, I've done the build how it is shown although I may be a few skill points short. When I try to to use all 4 decoctions sometimes I can use all four and other times only one will work as it says I only have 130% max toxicity and can only use one decoction.
Sadly there is a glitch on the console versions that never got patched. Other than that I can't really say, maybe a missing skill? Check the gold and green skills for maximum toxicity, also maybe level? Once again not sure. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I only have 3 green skills Heightened Tolerance, Aquired Tolerance and Fast metabolism but I can't use the 4th green skill as I haven't got all 12 mutations researched yet. I definitely have all the red skills although 3 have only 1 level unlocked. The thing is I have had all 4 decoctions working on the present build but it seems to be hit and miss as to whether it works. I've just started on NG+ so am building up the skill points to complete the build. I'll just keep going with it thanks.
@@agchvjjv Anytime you got a question I'll try my best to answer, anyway I don't think multiple levels of the same skill increase max toxicity so it's either a glitch OR the decoctions you are using cost more or less than others. You can also achieve similar results by using more green abilities rather than red, for potion duration and keep all potions active for less toxicity cost. @@tical0325 cut scenes will also cancel any of your buffs, even the ones that say 'lasts indefinitely' So any time you get a scene, even just characters talking they 'can' go away. It's a glitch cdpr never fixed. And yes it's a pain in the ass.
IMHO, all builds at Level 96 is considered broken....I had beaten this game at Level 48 on Death March with an Alchemy Cat Gear Aerondight build...i think Alchemy + Fast Attack build is more OP than this....just saying...no criticism intended...

Your build is built on Attack Power which is only OP because it had reached Level 96...just imagine the Alchemy build if it had reached Level 96...but still, I don't criticize your build...I just don't agree that it's the "Most Broken" build though...cheers

Exactly, you can just use devana rune for bleeding or Morana for poisoning and it will the same damage

Yeah the bear build is also very busted. You can also make a pretty good sign build but it only shines killing human enemies.
@@optimusgrime8265 I've never tried the bear build, maybe I'll try that on playthrough number 8 lol...I haven't done a broad sign build, but everyone I've even remotely focused on was completely OP-Quen, Igni and even Yrden can be beastly. Really all builds are super viable after dumping a few ability points, which is what makes it so replayable

Just recently played TW3 and i wanted to ask cause after getting the Viroledan sword, it has much lower damage than what you have got. Is this gear on NG+ or am i missing something
Yes this is ng+ you can get improved versions of every piece of equipment. Viroledan blade is there to cause instant death, it's attack doesn't really matter until it's 10 or so levels behind.

These are crazy, I'm going to experiment more with builds and try this out in my 2nd playthrough.
It's definitely fun a second go round to make combat less of a struggle.
What do you think about running the Manticore gear for extra max toxicity? I would hate to lose the attack damage boost from Cat School Techniques by not wearing light armor.
You can't use 5 decoction even with full manticore and all the abilities that increase toxicity so it ends up being pointless.
@@optimusgrime8265 I figured it out, Levity on the manticore gear, paired with fast metabolism gives you the Cat School Gear bonus, while also allowing you too take 4 decotions plus 3 regular potions. Fast metabolism also allows you to keep popping potions as long as you wait a few seconds.
Being able to pop additional regular potions, while also running 4 decotions makes Geralt super powerful. Especially if you are popping the right ones.
@@BeastReview Essentially that is exactly the same as my build however you gain a little bit of defense and lose auto quen. Ultimately do what makes you happy, that's the most important thing.
Would you get more overall attack or the same if you swapped the brown skill over the other two and put the red one back with the other two red skills on the bottom left of the tree?
No, 45% + 45% Would be 90%, same as 60% + 30%
If you use the exact same abilities, no more, no less, than regardless of order it should be the same. Don't pair red abilities with green Mutagen for example, and you should be fine, it should look very close to mine however because they are exactly where they are for a reason.

I rather use the magician path and go with igni and aard, grifin armor, ancient leshen and tawny owl, and the mutation piercing cold.
You can blast signs like its a machine gun, aard can one hit anemys or throw them to the ground giving you the chance to just kill them before they get up, most enemys that can't be tackle are vulnerable to igni so you burn them to a crisp igni does up to 27,000 damage at level 80, only constructs and spectrers are invulnerable to this build thats when I switch to a build similar to the one in this video.
I respect individual choice, but this build easily does 100k+ damage and up to 300k on an instant death attack. There really is no comparison. However if something makes you happy do that, no judgement here.
Where can I get a good steel sword before the dlc? I'm level 64 atm I started NG+ before the DLC.
Crafting or rare loot. Try treasure caches, hidden treasure or guarded treasure those are usually best

Im confused on how you got to the mutation tree, I can't seem to find it
There is a side quest in toussaint that is required for mutation, if memory serves it's called 'turn and face the strange'
How is your armor rating for grandmaster Ursine armor higher than mine, do you have to make it again to have the armor rating increase because mine is only at 240 for just my chest piece and yours is over 300
Mine is Legendary Grandmaster. There are two entire trees for each witcher set, regular and legendary.

Not quite sure what you mean, if it's runes then you just need several of the same kind on each of your armor.
Those are greater red/blue/green mutagens. You craft better versions of them to get higher % ratings in the skill tree
Oh, use Synergy, alchemy tree ability improves mutagens

I'm new to the game I got some few quest,treasure hunt, second quest not working.
I'm slowly exploring the map each continent with out realising I already pick some quest item, treasures item etc. Now when I pick some treasure set like school of cat gear I cannot go through to master grade.
I have some item but I don't have the diaphragm of the boots.
There are maps you buy from armor smiths that tell you where the other pieces are.

Last week I explore the site of the boots I think I got diaphragm but can't remember the detail since I focus on doing a witcher contract. I visited over again the location of the boots but I can't get it even I try to check it out at the journeyman armorsmith it doesn't appear on crafting, I can no longer access superior or even the master diaphragm on my treasure quest.
I think I shouldn't have explored the map and picking all the loot items without taking the treasure quest 1st, I might get bug some few of quest including the feline boots and the superior, master grade diaphragm quest.
I don't know what to do I might not be able to get final diaphragm of the feline set. I may be stuck at lvl 23 set armor.

High level potions and decoction help a bit, but mostly good armor, lots of dodging and that said it's not easy until you memorise enemy weakness. It's a mode for witcher freaks basically.

Depends, northern wind is the most exploitative. It guarantees criticals and has a high chance of dismemberment. If you're looking for something to abuse that's the one you want.
How did you get your sign intensity so high with this build?
The mutation called Euphoria, it multiplies all damage by your current toxicity. I use ONLY the manticore trousers, because even with the full manticore set you cannot have 5 decoction active. If you use my exact setup, you will have 4 decoction active for almost 40 minutes, and you can use every potion which will last around 3 minutes each. This gives you between 160-220% Sign intensity & Sword damage. You can push it even higher with runes and enchantment comboes, up to almost 300% but there is no point really when you can 1 shot almost every enemy in the game upscaled on death march.

I think the cap is 50, but i've heard people say that is no longer the case, so I don't really know. Do all the side stuff and see where you end up.

@@imsetychristophe6356 Actually no, lol, In Toussaint, the main city there is a somewhat obscure quest, basically just go to the docks area and look for an npc around a bunch of pools of dye, the whole area will be covered in paint, then buy some dye, it will give you a couple and the ability to craft them. Alternatively just find dye in the open world and use it on your armor. keep in mind it only works on witcher gear, cat, bear, griffin etc. Hope that helps.

Its funny how you are level 96 with 119 hours meanwhile I am here on my first playthrough level 50 I think with 123 hours, finished the game I think completely (as in all side quests).
It shows you he skipped alot of dialogue and didn't enjoy any scenery.

You have to craft it, and it requires that you complete 4 cat school scavenger quests, to start from the beginning buy maps from swordsmiths or armorers

It's a crafting recipe late game. Usually located in an underwater cave in the giant lake in Toussaint.

At 3:23 you talk about not to unlock the whole mutation tree and just get euphoria but don't you still need to unlock them all in order to get the extra 4 skill slots for the green tree skills that you suggested to use (heightened tolerance, acquired tolerance, synergy, fast metabolism)?
Simply put the build won't be finished until then but most won't put forth the effort. You should focus on the raw damage part of the build first and multiply damage with alchemy, later if you can.
How is your toxicity is 311? I'm only managed to 298 and this way i can drink 3 decoction only.I'm lvl 45 rn and missing some point in the alch three. But i have the torelance talent maxed.

The manticore pants. Any piece of manticore gives +max toxicity, either that or the gold tree ability.
Hi. I'm a bit confused as to how the decoctions work, I've done the build how it is shown although I may be a few skill points short. When I try to to use all 4 decoctions sometimes I can use all four and other times only one will work as it says I only have 130% max toxicity and can only use one decoction.
Sadly there is a glitch on the console versions that never got patched. Other than that I can't really say, maybe a missing skill? Check the gold and green skills for maximum toxicity, also maybe level? Once again not sure. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I only have 3 green skills Heightened Tolerance, Aquired Tolerance and Fast metabolism but I can't use the 4th green skill as I haven't got all 12 mutations researched yet. I definitely have all the red skills although 3 have only 1 level unlocked. The thing is I have had all 4 decoctions working on the present build but it seems to be hit and miss as to whether it works. I've just started on NG+ so am building up the skill points to complete the build. I'll just keep going with it thanks.
@@agchvjjv Anytime you got a question I'll try my best to answer, anyway I don't think multiple levels of the same skill increase max toxicity so it's either a glitch OR the decoctions you are using cost more or less than others. You can also achieve similar results by using more green abilities rather than red, for potion duration and keep all potions active for less toxicity cost. Depends which ones, some are enchantments, some are tied to abilities, some are from Geralts house and the rest are decoctions

@@tical0325 cut scenes will also cancel any of your buffs, even the ones that say 'lasts indefinitely' So any time you get a scene, even just characters talking they 'can' go away. It's a glitch cdpr never fixed. And yes it's a pain in the ass.

IMHO, all builds at Level 96 is considered broken....I had beaten this game at Level 48 on Death March with an Alchemy Cat Gear Aerondight build...i think Alchemy + Fast Attack build is more OP than this....just saying...no criticism intended...

Usually troll, hag, doppler, but there are tons of good ones, use whatever suits the situation, like fiend if you are over encumbrance or werewolf if you like running instead of roach. They are all pretty situational.
And the best 4 to have at full build are the ones u showed?
