Hey I know the comments on your other video people were making about your voice were harsh but honestly you’ve got the best content on RUclips about the BN2-20A. Great work!
Thank you for the info. I'm highly interested in knowing more of the return on investment if I would add this to my shop. Would you make a video that goes over Cost V.S. Profit. This would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
I am considering buying in to a Roland machine and Versaworks but struggling to understand whether it can do what I need. In our application, our artwork in PDF format will be a grid of maybe 100 x 60mm x 30mm rounded rectangular labels, each with unique graphics/text/colours. These will be generated by a specific piece of custom software, and the user won't be able to process through something like Illustrator/Corel to add the cut contour spot colour thing. I want Versaworks to generate the cut line automatically from the outside of each label border. I know it can do this if you click each one individually, but in our context that will be tedious. Can it simply detect the outside of all labels in one operation?
I bought a laminator that I haven’t been able to use yet. I can’t figure out how to print only and then feed the media back into the correct spot to then cut after laminating. Would you be able to make a video on this? Or could anybody in the comments Give me some tips I love your content and I wouldn’t have been able to do the set up without you, thanks for your help!
I have a video coming on that. You don't have to put the a white edge around the design at all. You can adjust the distance of the cut line to make it 0.0 right at the edge or a negative number will create a bleed.
The BN series printers use ecosolvent ink that make it waterproof! Check out the materials I use here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/roland-bn-20a-and-versaworks-tutorials.html?m=1
Hi Melissa, Thanks for your recommendation, I purchased BN2-20A. It's been working great and I see a lot of potential. I have a quick question. Is there a way to adjust header off set amount when printing? The print always starts 3inches offset from the top and I feel it's a lot of waste. Thanks!
You can use the Move function in the Utility, but it will cause an error if there's not enough lead for the material (there's a sensor)..it really needs that little bit of "extra". I would suggest leaving it..with that said if you don't sheet cut after each job it will just start immediately under or wherever you set the basepoint. This video will show you how to use Move ruclips.net/video/yVHuzKNp5Oo/видео.html
Got it. Thanks for the reply! Got one more question. Is there kiss cut and die cut settings I can download for different mediums? I'm trying various mediums such as removable and transparent. It's hard to take out stickers. Best.@@SilhouetteSchool
@@gilryongsongYou have to do cut tests on all the different media types. Write the settings down somewhere for future reference. I would suggest doing the cut tests every time you get a new roll and periodically as your blades will dull with usage.

If i wanna print and cut A6 sticker sheets, will the software be able to detect the cutlines of each picture even though the A6 sticker sheets have a colourful/patterned background?
Hi Melissa! I have a quick question, since this machine is very similar to the BY 20, can I use Siser EasyPSV Printable Gloss Adhesive Vinyl for cars windows decals? Thank you!! I am part of your school as well!
Great video Melissa! I am assuming that there is not a white toner option for this...correct? Also, do you need to laminate the stickers with this ink? If I were to laminate, can you feed the media back into the machine and have it cut the stickers as accurately?
@@ogmouthpieces Yes. You can laminate and feed it back through the machine and it will cut it. However, I do not know if lamination is needed unless you expect the product to be in a high traffic usage. So say a sticker on the tumbler you could need / want to laminate to help ensure longevity.
Hi there, I purchased BN2-20a. I have a quick question. It does kiss cut perfectly but it wouldn't do perfcut even if I set the line as perfcut. Is there a specific setting I should do? I set the line as perfcut and made sure it's gray before I sent to print. Thanks!
@silhouetteschool Hi Melisa, would you please be willing to measure the base dimensions? I'm mostly interested in depth, basically what could be the lowest bench depth to accommodate the printer. I assume Roland is listing the biggest dimensions only and I can't find anywhere any technical drawing of the printer showing exact measurements. Thank you.

One of the wonderful things about an ecosolvent printer is that you can print on MANY kinds of materials. Vinyl, heat transfer vinyl, window cling, banners etc so you don't have to heat press ALL materials you can print on with the BN2-20 or BN2-20A.

The camera was in too far to see all the options for both kiss cut and die cut. Also where do you adjust for die cut force. Thank you. Nick napier
If you need to adjust force you can do that in Versaworks in the Job's Cut Settings for Perf Cut
Hey there, do you think this machine can do really fine cuts? Like 3-5mm circles or squares within a single sticker sheet?
Yes it can cut small details with the right settings and blade. I'd use a 60 degree blade and make sure the cutting speed is on the slower side.
On the bn2-20a can you make a video on daily setup? Im having issues with my printer being stuck in maitence mode.
