I've been eyeing the 2 person one as I camp with my partner but the lack of vestibule for our gear is something to be considered. Im now leaning towards the 3p one. As a friend said, always go with the larger one from the specs you need.
I found the 3P to be more comfortable too, especially since I'm usually always camping with someone else. I'd highly recommend that if the price difference isn't too much 😊
I just bought this 3 person tent. Waiting for delivery. I'll be a first time camper. I bought the Hikenture queen extra thick sleeping pad 3.75 in high. Hoping this tent and pad are a good combination for me . Your video helped me decide this was my best choice for a tent . Thanks! Your voice is so pleasant! 😁
You're most welcome Mike, I'm really glad that I could help you decide on your tent! This tent is definitely good for first time campers 😊 I don't have the Hikenture but it looks pretty good! Self-inflating mats are definitely more comfy than other options haha. Thank you so much for your awesome comment, I really appreciate it! And I'm glad you find my voice pleasant (even if I don't hahaha) 😊
@@CampingGuidance Quick question. You mentioned on another video that the black material on the fresh and black tent was flaking off after many years . My question is, like how many years are we talking -and also how often was it used? It will help me predict how long this will last me. Thanks again!
@@KrazyKramer Hi Mike, thanks for the question! Hmm, I think I've had the Fresh and Black for about 4 years now? And I've used it maybe 4-5 times per year over the past 4 years. But I think it started peeling because it's super super humid where I stay, not because of how often it was used. (At least, that's my guess haha.) Sorry I don't have more accurate stats on the amount of usage though, because when I first bought the tent a few years ago, I never planned to make these RUclips reviews videos haha. I was just camping for fun back then. I hope this helps though!
@@CampingGuidance Ok. thank you! I mean for $129 if I can get 4 years out of it, I'd be a "Happy camper"! 😂 I appreciate your videos! Have a great day and be safe!
@@KrazyKramer Thank you for replying Mike! And yes I think 4 years should definitely be no problem, it's a really good tent! Have a great day and stay safe too Mike! Glad I could help you 😊
I have the 2-person tent (intended for solo use), which so far I'm happy with the size, and considering I travel by train/public transport, I think in my case it might be preferable to the 3-person one, to make transportation easier. I'm planning however to try a low-profile cot (naturehike ultralight cot, 15 cm / ~6 inches tall), since I had trouble falling asleep even on a thick air mattress, so I'm willing to give cots a chance. I wonder if it'll work well with the tent though.
I bought the 3 person one, and I've just spent 12 days at a campsite. I bring a lot of stuff, so it was just enough for me. There would have been no room for one more person. It was 36 degrees Celsius outside, the tent can get quite hot during the day, but it's definitely better insulated than the cheaper ones.
Great video! I'm wondering will a 16cm/ 6 inch thick air bed be ok for the 3 man version, I am looking to pick one up and I know you showed one that thick in the video i'm just curious as to how you found it? Was the headroom manageable?
Hi there Harry! I'm glad you liked the video :) And the 6 inch mattress was perfect for me! I didn't feel too squashed or claustrophobic inside the tent, and it was just right actually. But I'm also not very tall or big, I'm only about 5'3"/161cm. Hope this helps!
@Plaintive L. Hi there thanks for the question! Hmm I haven't actually done that myself, but I think the check in baggage limit depends from airline to airline (if I'm not wrong!). The dimensions are roughly 31 by 31 by 8 inches, if that helps! 😊
Hey there! Thanks for the question 😊 Hmm I'm gonna have to say no. It fits 2 people rather snugly as it is, so if you wanna fit 2 large backpacks I'd recommend going for the 3P 😊I hope this helps!
@Rl M Thanks for the comment! Glad you found it comfortable too 😊 And honestly I don't think this tent is meant for backpacking, it's super bulky though :(
Great reviews on the tents I've seen a couple of your videos on these ones! I have a question for you regarding the 3 person tent. I'm looking at picking one up but I'm curious if my cot will fit in there. The length measurements fit, but obviously those are measured from the ground and the tent slopes a bit as well as there's the width of the cot so that length is needed for the whole thing. If you are able to can you measure and see if the cot would fit? It's 10 inches tall 30 feet wide 79 inches long. I'd assume it does but it's kinda hard to tell with the angles of the back wall and door. I don't overly care about the sitting room in there when you mentioned the airmatress heights just if it will fit for sleeping in. Thanks in advance!
Hi there Payton, thank you so much for watching my videos on these tents, I really appreciate the support 😊 I've done some measurements on the tent but I don't have a cot with your dimensions unfortunately :( But I managed to squeeze in a queen mattress that's 80 inches long, 60 inches wide, and 9 inches tall (not the queen in the video). Since your cot's only 1 inch taller than this other queen mattress, I'm guessing that it'll fit. Anything higher might not be able to go in though, because the door does slant a little bit. I hope this helps! Either way I think Decathlon's pretty generous with their return policy, or you could always walk in to check out the tent (that's what I did before as well) 😊
Thanks for the review! Actually bought the tent and used it last week for camping. Just a question: how would you keep cool/make it less stuffy in a low tent like this? I live in Singapore and it gets hot and stuffy. Maybe could request for a video where you could show us how to keep it cool and ventilated?
You're most welcome Justin, glad that you liked the review! 😊 I'm from Singapore too! Haha. Usually I would only camp out in the less hot and stuffy seasons, like end of the year and beginning of the year. Did you also open all the vents? I found that it really helps with the ventilation. And also, you could bring a small camping fan in to circulate the air a bit so it's not so stale. 😊
Hi Aaron! Thanks for the question 😊 Hmm to be honest I'm not really sure I understand your question. This tent doesn't come with a separate groundsheet, and the little overhang at the front of the tent isn't much of a porch either haha. Let me know if I haven't answered your question and I'll do my best to help 😊
Hey there! Thanks for the question 😊 Hmm to be honest I didn't test them out in super strong winds (mostly just light winds), but as long as they're completely guyed out, they should be able to withstand winds as well as the average budget camping tent. I can't say that it'll be super durable in wind because the poles are still fiberglass and not high quality aluminum (which are better in wind). I hope this helps! 😊
Hi Shirley, thanks for letting me know. 😊 Hmm Quechua 2 Seconds tents don't tend to pop open right away. There's a strap to undo, as well as 4 buckles. Does your tent come with this?
@@shirleylewis1366 Hi Shirley, thanks for the reply! Hmm that's really strange it shouldn't be droopy. The entire tent should be set up once you remove the strap, the 4 buckles, and unfold the tent, even without the guylines. It could be a manufacturing defect. Is it possible for you to take it back to Decathlon for them to give you a new one?
@@shirleylewis1366 Yes definitely! I think you should get it replaced, and also check that the new one pops out like I show in the video, it shouldn't be droopy. And no problem at all, it was my pleasure! Let me know how it goes 😊
Hi Tyra, I think it's technically considered to be double-walled/double-skinned if I'm not wrong? The white outer covering is the rainfly, and there's a black inner tent body beneath the rainfly, but it's very difficult to remove (I haven't actually done so). But rest assured that the inner tent body doesn't touch the rainfly at all, and it's pretty great in rains. Let me know if this clarifies! Or if I'm not right about this 😊
