    Hi have you ever had any problems with the p15 not cocking, gun will cock sometimes if gun is held sideways but won't cock if gun is held in the firing position

    • @ellelephant
      @ellelephant  3 года назад +1

      I believe there’s is a pin in the linkage that like to float, if that’s the case you’ll need to take the pin out, close one side of its hole a bit with a pin punch gently round the outside of the hole so it burrs over and will then grip the pin when you put it back in.

    Very helpful vids. Did you chrono the rifle before and after fitting the washers that allow the hammer spring to rotate smoother, just to make sure the power hadn't gone up above the legal limit?

    • @ellelephant
      @ellelephant  7 лет назад

      Rob Lockhart, sure do mucker. Been doing this for a while now and know it is irresponsible not to mate, it was running at 11.3 originally, adding any extra compression to that spring puts you at risk which is why I like to make a note of where the adjuster is set and after reassembly have it screwed way out and slowly increase the power. First crono was 5.34ftlbs and from there it was brought up to 11.1, that way I’m on the right side of the law even while setting it. Personally I have my guns running between 10.5 and 11 as the golden 11.8 just isn’t worth the risk nor gives any perceptible benefit. Then take into account the myth of heavier pellets for pcp and lighter for springers, it may be true with a springer but with an incorrectly set up reg on a pcp that saying is completely wrong. As an aside, I do know the power capability of these guns and it is concerning they have no anti tamper.

      Good info, thanks, as I bought a P15 a couple of months ago and was going to do the mod on mine. So I'll dig my combro chrono out. My main reason for asking was due to it being a regulated rifle, I wasn't sure if it would have made a difference to the power.

    • @ellelephant
      @ellelephant  7 лет назад

      more than welcome. I like combro's, handy bit of kit as my first one matched a skan crono i had at the time. regulated yes but its also how fast you let that set amount of air out, a harder hit means faster release.

      Just to let you guys know, be very careful when dealing with Artemis or SMK. I have been stitched up a treat. The centre of my .177 mag snapped, so I sent artemis an e-mail, asking if they knew of the issue. they told me to post it back, and they would send a new one out (only bought the gun June 2017). I didn't get in touch with the gun shop I had it off, as why would you when the manufacturers said that. Posted it, waited weeks, then got an e-mail off artemis telling me where I could BUY another mag!!! Wasn't impressed so e-mailed SMK to see if they could help. All SMK kept saying was 'send us the magazine'...they wont accept that I cant. as it was sent back to artemis. SMK now say that they are just 'the importers' and cant help now. Very annoyed at SMK's attitude, as their guy rand me and told me that they would sort it out. So buyer beware!!!

    • @ellelephant
      @ellelephant  7 лет назад

      Rob Lockhart this I know. My barrel is shit and they can’t supply any. The mag is a common problem along with them misaligning pellets. Smk don’t know what snow peak don’t know what Artemis don’t know what smk are doing. Useless. Oh and your first port of call should have been the gunshop, the maker is the last port of call. 😉

    I'm having an issue with the side plate that is on the same side as the cocking lever. When I remove the 2 screws, and the plastic side plate, the side plate on the same side of the hammer does not easily pop off. I even tried putting a punch through the 2 screw holes and lightly tapping it to try and get it to pop out, but it won't budge. Do you have any ideas? Thanks!

    Can I remove the cocking lever without degassing, I'm sick of the pin falling out on mine and want to replace it with a 4mm partially threaded pin, but I want to remove the linkage and lever to drill/tap them properly, I hand pump mine which is a pain, but as the reg drops out at about 110 bar it isn't too bad to pump it back to 250, 10 strokes of the pump = 10 bar, can I remove the linkages + hammer etc without it blowing up?

      You can strip everything bar unscrewing the cylinder and the black grubscrew underneath near the cylinder removing. Always remember if you do, its still attached and treat it like the bomb it is....

    • @ellelephant
      @ellelephant  7 лет назад

      I'll be honest with you mate, there isnt much thats going to hear the difference at 30 yards and if it does then it will be dead shortly after and the main noise after that is the disturbance of death throes or the initial TWACK of the pellet, on target, that you cant control. It only sounds loud because your ear is right next to it. But, if you want it doing still then someone should only really charge you around a tenner to do it. I have done a solid brass one for the extra weight but that was more for FAC levels as it was also fitted with a longer spring.

      abdulshafi nabeel cheers, I have two bench vices, another on the mill and one on the pillar drill. I’m dropping things because A. I’m left handed and so clumsy and B. Because I’m trying to make this as short as possible so your good selves don’t loose interest in a lengthy video where the maker likes the sound of his own voice, my aim is to hopefully get the basic understanding of the gun across without sending you all to sleep.Thank you though and all the best.
