If you want the zoom to not be out of focus for video then need to find lenses that are parfocal. My tamron 17-70mm isn’t parfocal too so when I zoom in and out it loses focus. But I chose tamron for the Vibration Control. Also with the aperture changes when zooming it should have been fixed with the 5th gen processor and x-trans 5 sensor.
Great video! Just curious, how is the rack focus capability for video? I’ve been having trouble using the Fuji 35 f2 to do a rack focus (you reaaaallly gotta crank to do rack focus from objects 1-6 feet apart). Granted I know these are photo lenses, but just wondering your experience has been for rack focus. Easy? Thanks! 🙂
UNFORTUNATELY, the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 DC DN lens that I purchased on 12/8/22 for my Fuji X-T5 camera developed a problem on 7/29/24 that means I can't depend upon it. Up until that time I was pleased with it for both photos & video. BUT after I had taken about 190 photon on the 29th, the aperture froze at F20 & nothing I could do resolved this. I was about 2hrs driving distance from home. Another zoom lens worked just fine on my camera when I got back home. Mysteriously, the Sigma lens now seemed to work again. BUT when I researched online, I found several other situations where Sigma lenses had similar problems. THEREFORE, I have no choice but to stop using this Sigma lens & get the Fuji XF 16-50mm f/2.8-4.8 R LM WR Lens, since I can't run the risk of having the Sigma lens fail again when I'm away from home.
Great video. I also have the same set up. However, I've been thinking about getting a second hand 40mp X-H2. I've heard about some lenses that meeting the more challenging newer sensor. Have you tried this lens on either the X-T5 or the X-H2? If yes, what are your thoughts? Thanks.
I currently have a Fuji XT200 with the 15-45 f3.5-5.6 kit lens. Is it worth upgrading to the Sigma 18-50 even if the focal lengths are pretty close? Been using it for 4 years now for mostly travel and street photography. I want to try a lens that's not variable aperture.
No it doesn’t, and it also won’t get it through a firmware update. Fuji doesn’t bring new simulations to older models via firmware update normally. They said they would bring reala ace to the X-T5 via firmware update, but also didn’t happen until now.
Bruh, people laugh when oyu say you miss those 4mm from 24 to 28, but it really makes the world of difference! I shoot alot of concerts, and I am definitely looking to find a 24mm again
This lens isn't due you then, if you use your camera for professional work then you need something for it. This is for hobbyist which don't have much options. Not everything needs to be for professional work
@@ionrage I dont know why you are coming for me like that. I said literally nothing of the sorts! I am not critizing this lens at all, or any other 28mm lens. Just saying you DO notice those 4mm if you shoot in a lot of confined spaces. That goes for hobbyists or professionals.
Hi, I've been planning to buy my first camera next year right after my exam is over, xs-20 paired with sigma 18-50. I am dead set on Xs20 but having doubts, Can you please help decide between xt-4 and xs20 because are almost identical in features but xs20 is new? Your insight would be really helpful
The X-S20 will have a better auto focus system than the X-T4 due to the newer processor (same as the on on the X-T5). I personally chose the X-S20 because of this reason plus the lighter weight, smaller size, and longer battery life.
will have to give this lens another shot, maybe together with a Sony a6700. Tested it with my a6000 and was not impressed. Thought I was just not a zoom kinda guy, but then tried an Sigma 28-70 2.8 with an A7C in Japan. First I was not impressed either, but then saw the images back home on the monitor, and damn, those pictures are crisp. Now hoping it was just my a6000 and the 18-50 turns out better on the newer APSC cameras.
@@spdcrzy do u think I should go with the a6700 or the a7cr for my first camera? I can't decide and if I feel like I'd end up going full frame in a few years I'd rather just do it now
@@MoreData-hz8hm So it depends. Are you going to shoot more photos or video? If the balance any more than 30% in favor of photos, I'd say go full-frame with the A7CR. APS-C sensors have gotten pretty decent at video for very cheap compared to full-frame sensors, so if you vlog a lot and shoot a lot of handheld video, go with the A6700.

I love this lens. I'm a Sony shooter. I bought the Viltrox 13mm f1.4 to compensate for the limited 18mm range. Happy camper.

I have the same lens for Sony. BRILLIANT little lens - if you give it a good enough sensor. The ZV E-10 handicaps it SO badly.
