- Today We are watching The Emperors New Groove for the millionth time probably. This is literally Childhood wrapped in a disk. This movie has no business being this funny period. The emperor's new groove commentary/ reaction... it an underrated gem.

This movie is set in the Incan Empire, and they regularly used llamas for transportation in real life, so llamas are pretty important to there culture. That’s why llama art and stuff are used so much in this movie.

This film is literally the FUNNIEST.
No other movie on earth had me crying laughing for 80 minutes straight like this one did.

Fun Fact: Eartha Kitt (the voice actress for Yzma) also originally sang the Christmas song "Santa Baby" as well as play Catwoman in the 1960s Batman tv show.

Every time I see this part of the film and hear these lines I laugh so hard! As someone who writes as a hobby I have always thought this was just the most clever bit of film/writing/story satire ever! Love it!

You’re right. In CPR, you do Compressions FIRST. Circulation, airway (check the airway), breathing (rescue breaths). People used to be taught differently, but it’s been discovered that compressions are more important.

.....this is set in the Incan times of Peru. Llamas originated in South America They became particularly important in Peru during the Incan Empire, when they were used to carry goods through the Andes mountains, while their hair was also used to make fabric.
Pacha was a herder of llamas so that was probably their sole income.
You might appreciate this but there’s a documentary on RUclips about how The Emperors New Groove came to be. There was sooooo much more to it, Owen Wilson was one of the stars and Sting was doing the entire soundtrack then the original story got scrapped and they made this one (which I love). Eartha Kitt even had another song that got cut. It was really interesting!
Oh, yeah. I saw that. It was originally called, "Kingdom of the Sun" and it was like a "prince and the pauper" story and Owen Wilson was Kuzco's peasant doppelganger. But I still think they should have kept Yzma's villain song

8:57 The voice actor who did Bucky the Squirrel's voice said (in a Vanity Fair interview) that when he auditioned for the role, they asked him what a squirrel would sound like without using actual words. He asked if he could go outside and take a break to think about it. He sat on a park bench, and a young squirrel came up to him and made those exact noises. He said to the squirrel, "THANK you!", came back to the audition, did those chittering noises, and got the part.

This film is ridiculously good, here in Latin America we love it not because it is a film faithful to the Inca culture or even less that it represents us, but the dubbing into Spanish and the humor is wonderful ... it marked a whole generation (like the kronk movie)
The fact that Treasure Planet was not named as the most underrated Disney film made me reload this video three times to make the comment section visible.

Eartha Kit voicing a cat = Purrfection!
She did play Catwoman in the third season of "Batman" (1966), and she really was Purrfection!
in the planning stage there was a scene where Yzma did her own performance of "Perfect World" (the opening theme) but they had to cut it for time and money. Which sucks because it means Eartha Kitt's in a movie where she DOESN'T sing.
Her scrapped song "Snuff Out the Light" is on the movie's soundtrack, though. And that tune is absolute fire!

This is without a doubt, one of my all time favorite movies. I watched this with my son for the first time when he was about 3. I was choking laughing and was looking at me like.."I want to know why this is so funny!" Over the years, we watched this movie together so many times, he got to understanding what was so funny on his own. We had the dialogue memorized and I swear there was a portion of time where we had conversations with each other based solely off the dialogue of this movie. 😂😂 Good times!❤

The Emperor's New Groove is a good movie~! I remember seeing it in theaters for a special school event, and I loved it.
It's a shame you don't like cats, they're so unique and cute. I've had four, and each had their own personalities, though the last three have been very affectionate. My first cat past away in 2019, December, due to old age (22 years old~) and she was such a regal old lady, and my second disappeared when she was only 4. I still miss her a lot as she was the most cuddly/affectionate cat I ever had. I still have my third cat, who's gonna be 9 in September, but sadly my fourth cat didn't make it past her first year due to being unknowingly anemic.

I love how the entire cast looks exactly like the characters that they play, if they ever were to make a live action version of this, which I hope to God they never do, I do think The original actor for Yzma (Eartha Kitt) could replay hercomment because she looks like her original character nowadays, and she still is an actress

I saw this in theaters when it came out and absolutely loved it. The cast is fantastic. You're right, this movie is so underrated.
I also love "Meet the Robinsons". That movie just makes me smile. And the ending song "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas is so beautiful.
Someone else mention "A Goofy Movie". Such a great movie. And the soundtrack is so good.
Another underrated movie is "Cat's Don't Dance". It has great music.

I LOVE this movie and just have to give a big shoutout to whoever translated it to brazillian portuguese cause here in the "hate your hair, not likely, yikes..." scene we had it dubbed as "odiei seu cabelo, chupou limão, jaburu, jabucreia, jaburanga e... já sei, você tem GRANDE personalidade!!!" And honestly????? Iconic work right there (brazillian dubbing in old animated movies was 💯, just full of iconic lines)

Hi certified lifeguard here! If someone passes out and is unconscious on land it’s compressions (or pumping!) first then air, if they’re passed out in the water it’s air first then compressions!

Hey Lakia you rlly like disney right? Are you planning to dive in to the world of disney animated tv shows? Because they're pretty amazing as well. Just to name a few, The Owl House, Amphibia, Gravity Falls etc. I feel like you'll like them alot. I recommend The Owl house, i think it's the best one

I have slipped on frozen dew, or ice, and dislocated my right knee cap out of it's socket, I had to be in a bracelet for 3 weeks, on Christmas many years ago.
If u were to look up online about Kronk, u will find that his full name especially his last name is hard to pronounce. It is Kronker Pepikrankenitz. I do not know if they mention it on the other movie of his or not because it been years since I seen that one.
Honestly, this movie is really underrated. Not to mention the ps1 game version. Really underrated platformer.

11:36 - I went on one of those drop rides once, and it was much smaller than the one shown here. I only went on it really to know what it feels like to freefall for about a second and a half so I could write about it in my stories. It was effective, but I don't think I'd do it again, definitely NEVER planning on Skydiving.
