He's still got his range and chops. Been a KANSAS fan since 1975. Some purists never accepted JE. I love the band KANSAS and have enjoyed every lineup, including JE (Vinyl Confessions, Drastic Measures) who brought it every performance not to mention contributing some much needed song writing during his tenure. Good to see him still sharing his gift onstage.
Great comment with 3 great replies! Kansas was my first “favorite” Prog rock band. I think I wore out the vinyl version of “Two For the Show”. When Steve left and John joined the band, it was a positive change. Not easy to replace Steve Walsh, but John did and did so very well!!! Good to see he’s still getting it done!!!

What a huge responsibility replacing Steve Walsh and this guy handled it perfectly. I’m the biggest Steve Walsh fan ever and Kansas lost nothing in the Walsh to Elefante transition
Very nicely said, Sheldon. JE was my favorite lead singer of Kansas hands down. I have 2 more videos from this great concert on my Channel. Hope to see JE again, maybe this year. Stay tuned....
He was the wrong pick to replace Walsh because he made the band a mediocre contemporary Christian type band. Not because of his vocals he is one of the best pitch perfect vocalists. I'm talking about personality and attitude. Kerry needed a foil, somebody different from him and a Sammy Hagar would have done that. He had the hard rock credentials from Montrose that would have been a contrast to this Christian stuff. With Walsh gone Kerry's song writing was diluted and he had writers block.

@@jukeboxhero26 I''ll take a look for it. With his album Revolution of Mind he enlisted some help from his former group Mastedon. But it includes some help from Kerry Livgren so you definitely get some Kansas influence especially on the 10 minute song 'One Day Down by the Lake'. It has Christian influences since John is a Christian and has released solo Christian albums after his work with Kansas. His latest release this year is 'The Amazing Grace'. Great artist.
