Hey man this video deserves all the love in the world. You solved my problem. I just got my RODE converter today and it worked like a charm. Didn't even need the Attenuator. I just set the main volume out on my audio interface to the bare minimum which is a hair above -80dB which allows me to keep my Master fader on my DAW at 0dB. The quality of my Instagram live feed audio is studio quality. Something not common on IG Live. I also got the iRIG but it gave me issues with my Android so I'm returning that. ( I ordered it just incase the RODE failed) I should probably cancel my order of the Attenuator but I know those are hard to come by so I kinda want it just in case. Thanks again for this video! Keep pumping out live sets.
Thanks for this very helpful video. I'm trying to do this on an iPad with a lightning connector and couldn't get it to work as shown with the iRig 2. Do I need to do install the AmpliTube software to make this work?
+Kirk State Very helpful video- thank you. Any advice for avoiding the FB Live ban once their systems feel they've auto-detected copyrighted content? A direct feed will increase the chances of this. Thanks...
Beam and Coke please? All humor aside, phenomenally great video guy! I plugged the iRig2 TRRS end into my desk phone which uses a Google Voice account and noticed none of my sound effects like pitch change, echo and delay get passed from my mixer to the ATT Wireless caller. When I plug the TRRS into my cell phone the sound effects get passed through to the same person's cell phone I called. Do you know if Google Voice and other services "normalize" audio back to something unaltered with affects? Thanks man! I'm using an iRig2 between my phones I mentioned and the Yamaha MG10XU mixer fyi.
lun i don’t think so, I have the irig 2 & the sound is mono! You can hear everything properly, one side ( left or right ) of the sound is off, I know there is a way to fix this from your software but I didn’t want to do this way, I had to upgrade to the Irig Stream which had stereo & it’s all good now
Hi Am just starting steaming on Facebook need to know with the first set do I have to get the little box thing because I got the trs to trrs adapter and the red and black cable will it work like that

Hi. Can I use the iRig 2 by connecting one end to my pioneer mixer, and the other end to my laptop instead of a phone so I can livestream to RUclips? Let me know thanks
im doing step number two and im not getting any sound whatsoever. coming out of serato scratch pro build in into Numark mixer booth outputs. i start record and nothing happens. the lighting cable im using is the original from apple. no sound, man, no sound. do we need a software in the phone to catch the sound coming out of the mixer? w t hell
Hey man. You used a stereo 1/4 inch jack adaptor in this vid. I keep reading that the iRig2 only picks up mono? Did the jack you used work okay, or was this just to demonstrate? Thanks in advance :-)
Do you need to combine the iRig2 with the app AmpliTube as they suggested? Or you can simply plug and go straight on Facebook/Instagram live broadcast?
So i noticed you used a stereo jack to plug into the guitar input and on someone else video they used a mono jack so im trying to figure out now which is correct help me great video and help i purchased a irig to go live with my dj sets now i need the extra wires .
Ok, I have a Komplete Audio 6 interface with no pre amp or mixer. It does not have RCA outputs. It does have a S/PDIF out put and a headphone output. Do you think I can get an adaptor to make it work on the S/PDIF out?
Hey Kirk, I got the iRig, but I didn't connect it like you did with the adapter into the "guitar" jack. Instead to the one beside, and got a very "high pass" sound. If i get the adapter, will the bass be present after connecting? is the iRig YOUR preferred method? Thanks man.
Hey thanks for the reply... I tried it out, and seems to work alright.... I just got 4 pieces of the AIRA line ( VT-3 TB-3, TR-8 and system one... now that I think of it, my sound card is roland too lol... anyways, cheers, have a good one

will any behringer work? Any suggestion where I can get a good one for under $80? Just give me the name or a link please. not familiar with mixers. don't wanna buy the wrong thing
ok my good brother Kirk, I'm gonna give it a go and try to get things going and was told don't worry about coming through in stereo since people will be listening from their smartphones, and by the way i found it on eBay for $100 and was lucky... by the way with the digital music are their copy right issues when you go live or does Facebook cause I heard a guy playing all the cuts???
hi mate. there there any advantage of the irig 2 concerning audio quality. I have a pioneer djm nexus 2 with booth out so a rode sc4 could work well without the attenuator. mainly wondering if the extra cost of the irig it worth it. is the irig2 stereo or just mono like the sc4. thanks
I bought a simple RCA (left/right) to TRRS and connected it to the BOOTH OUT of my XDJ-R1, so I can control de volume of the recording. The only thing is that, even though it's not distorted at all, it lacks too much audio quality. It sounds that everything is in a very low bitrate. Any idea why and how to solve it?
hi, I went and pick up the RODE SC4 at the DJ store and try it on my iPhone 5, but the Phone does not pick up anything when I plug it into my Phone. I followed your tips using regular 3.5mm Aux cable (Audio Out > into Female side of RODE SC4 >> and Male side of SC4 to the iPhone input) i don't have the (25DB Input) thing. do i need to also use those for it to work.?
afons b OBS is kind of shit. Perfect sound quality when I can stream the sound direct into the computer from my XDJ-R1 but problems are 1) I can never get get the audio and video to sync which has me speaking with a delayed voice into the microphone. 2) My Macbook Pro heats up and overworks considerably by feeding a webcam into one USB port and the XDJ-R1 into the other. It's not ideal. 3) Webcam appears grainy as hell too. An iRig 2 will solve both problems by just doing everything on the phone with less work.
yes. i have an external mixer aside from my controller, which s what i'm running all sound from. i gave it more bottom which distorted the sound. I found a way to turn off the acg on my fons. I'm going to test it out to see if it helps with the sound quality.
Ya Momma if I understand your question right, Yes. Plug into your house speakers from the Main output of your mixer. You now have speaker monitors to use for either the house or for yourself. When I Dj on live streams, my DJ mixer has two speaker outputs. 1) XLR Main/ RCA Main and 2) Booth. I use the Booth out to the iPad and as soon as I've done a sound check and adjusted the gain, I don't touch the booth volume nor think about it any more. My Main out is now free for going into my house speakers (used as monitors since I go live) and I can turn the volume up and down whenever I want to without having to worry if it's too low or too loud going through the phone.
Beyond its iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac support, iRig 2 also offers complete compatibility with Samsung's new line of Samsung Professional Audio devices. That means you can play and process with the full power of AmpliTube for Samsung Pro Audio with your Galaxy Note 3, Note 4, Galaxy Edge, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S6.
+DeejaYobrah B I don't think they make them anymore. I tried getting a few for some friends and was unable to find any. Keep checking eBay maybe you might get lucky

Nice tuturiol, thanks for the 2 options Kirk....and let me hold that Stormtrooper! #niceMantronixreference
Nice one, what does the switch on the side iRig2 mean which says THRU FX. Also does the Android Nokia 6.1 work for the iRig
Do you just use a basic RCA jack and if so where do you plug that too the mixer
Simple and cool bro tank you ! What app do I need to use together with this set up then to stream live set to you tube..?
Do you need the fentronix attenuator for it to work mate, or is that just to keep noise level at a certain volume?
+Kirk State Very helpful video- thank you. Any advice for avoiding the FB Live ban once their systems feel they've auto-detected copyrighted content? A direct feed will increase the chances of this. Thanks...
+writeandrem I use to add a slight echoe and they wouldn't ban it. But now that does not help.

Very important question lets say if you have a dj controller with a build in mixer and if you want to DJ live would you have to connect the IRig2 to your master input of your controller and just connect your speakers to your booth output?
THEREALDJTWIN you could use a "y" connector to split the signal..one to speakers and other to the phone.
i use a ddjsx and it has a 2nd master output. dont know if yours has one....but that would work
I do have a 2nd master output. I have my xlr output connected to my speaker so would i connect my Irig2 to my rca master output?
Kirk State Kirk State for DJ controllers with one master out (such as the one I have), couldn't you just connect a 1/8" audio cable from the amplifier output on the irig 2 to your monitors?

Is that a regular rca to 3.5 output to attenuator.
Is the cable plugged into your mixer is the red/black+3.5mm kinda thing? Which part of the mixer did u insert it btw?
Into the Behringer mixer it is plugged into channel 1 and 2 with the other the 3.5mm into the iRig 2
Hey man. You used a stereo 1/4 inch jack adaptor in this vid. I keep reading that the iRig2 only picks up mono? Did the jack you used work okay, or was this just to demonstrate? Thanks in advance :-)
Daniel De Bohan works good
works good in stereo
with Iring 2 IS MONO....
for stereo sound need some hardware.....IRig Pro 2.....is only way to have stereo sound with the phone !!!!!
Do you need to combine the iRig2 with the app AmpliTube as they suggested? Or you can simply plug and go straight on Facebook/Instagram live broadcast?
@Kirk State I'm interested to the answer of Roman T's question as well. Thanks.

Yo Kirk. Nice post. Trying set live will use I rig... peace

Have you got stereo sound because I bought the sc4 and is still recording from the iPhone mic please
Xau Er no. The irig2 does not output to stereo. Only mono
Yo brother, really appreciate the video. Thanks. Do you think it can work if I connect it straight to my kontrol z1?
You mean if you connect an iRig to your z1 ? If so yes

guitar jack is mono

+Lloyd Mc on the top of the MG12XU use the output that says stereo out or monitor out and connect to your phone
Kirk, it did work. Thanks for responding to my emailed
how do you hook up the irig2 to a dj mixer instead of a mixing borad ?
i have the irig 2 but i dont know how to set it up to dj mixer
3.5mm to RCA, connect the 3.5 end to iRig2 and the RCA end to the DJ mixer booth out
Hey Kirk, I got the iRig, but I didn't connect it like you did with the adapter into the "guitar" jack. Instead to the one beside, and got a very "high pass" sound. If i get the adapter, will the bass be present after connecting? is the iRig YOUR preferred method? Thanks man.
darouge yes the iRig is my preferred unit. I hear that Roland has come out with a 4 channel portable pocket mixer. I will look into it more.

how should i manage the same setup but plugging into a Booth plug (TRS 6,35mm jack) in a dj mixer? Thx
hey Kirk, i was just wondering I got the Irig Pro Duo a few days ago and wanted to know if that can go live in streaming your set????

"Aight fam, what's good"

doesn't the iRig setup force you to go mono? does the previous setup with the attenuator give you a stereo signal?
The input into the phone is stereo. But it also depends on the phone if it can record in stereo.
So with the iPhone 7 does the Rode + attenuator produce a stereo mix?
Kirk State false. The irig 2 is only in mono. Has nothing to do with phone.
Good looking out!
Hi Nice video
Is the Signal coming out is in Stero?
No. If you want stereo I suggest the iRig Pro Duo
what kind of output channel do u use on your mixer? is this the master output?
Yes master output
hello, how would i connect the iRig 2 to a DJM 900 mixer Pioneer? thanks
So to be clear, If i wanna live stream then I should get a iRig?
iiChiLLL yes. iRig2 is your best bet.
Kirk State can we use the original iRig? like the first one and not the iRig2?
Do I need the attenuator? Can't I attenuate the signal y lowering the volume on the mixer? Also, is the stream in stereo for your listeners?
+FirstName LastName yes its stereo. Are you using DJ software ?
Kirk State naw, going straight out of my control booth on my mixer.
Is the attenuator really necessary? Can't we connect that 3.5 jack that comes from the mixer directly to the TRRS adapter?
