Suica app is in Japanese, but if you’re an iPhone user and has at least iPhone 8, you can change your region to Japan to add a Suica transit card to your Apple Wallet app!
@@rockster72 it’s funny you made this comment because the exact issue I mentioned happened. I need a physical card due to not being able to shift the information from the old phone. Been resorted to buying individual tickets with cash until they fix the chips or allow visa payments
@@timtanhueco1990 maybe it changed now. But last I checked pasmo and the other card companies don’t take foreign visa. You can use recharge stations at the trains with cash. But you can not direct deposit from your bank to your digital card.
Currently in tokyo and my apple wallet wouldn’t let me add funds from my apple pay or any visa card . Had to use a my master card. Just a heads up
I think it only works on Amex cards for foreign cards cause I think it only supports JCB payment network, which has a partnership with Amex.

My Visa card doesn't work as it isn't a Japanese issued card.

Functions the same. You can use either, wouldn’t matter.
Use Suica if travelling around Tokyo, Pasmo is travelling around Osaka and Kyoto! For locals, they mostly use Suica.
