It was confusing at first but I think I've got it now just from the video. The Isu were trying to save their skins from a world ending calamity so in order to preserve themselves they transferred their minds into a future human generation which turned out to be people like Basim and Eivor amongst others. Basim, who has the conscience of Loki, wants revenge on Odin, who is Eivor, for the shenanigans he pulled while everyone was having their conscience transferred into a future generation. Basim somehow got into the Isu machine that transferred consciences (during a confrontation with Eivor/Odin) and tricked Layla into putting him in the real world and trapping herself in his place. Now Basim was in the real world in his real body and managed to have contact with the Isu staff that gave immortality and is now roaming the modern world as we know it. Dun dun dunnn. This across space and time stuff hurts my brain.

The reincarnations of the Gods seem to have black spot on the right side of the neck because thats where they Yggdrasil Tree of Life was used on the original Gods to suck out their psyches and store it in the Yggdrasil.
For Eivor, the wolf attacked the right side of his neck, destroying the area of the neck with the black spot and only leaving huge scars. Thats why Basim did not know. Basim started suspecting though overtime that Eivor was acting too much like Odin. Basim himself is a proper reincarnation of Loki.
There seems to be a huge number of plots brewing... Loki's own plot, the AEsir's plot, the Greek God's plots... heck even Celtic mythos, Gnostic mythos, Slavic mythos, East Asian mythos... all have doomsday scenarios where the deities were preparing for the apocalypse. Story telling potentials are virtually limitless. With too many pantheons to choose from.

What a fucking waste turning Basim into the reincarnation of a Norse God. Just make him a normal human being who happens to become an Assassin like Ezio. The reason why Ezio worked is because he represented the player with his curiosity and unknowingness to how the greater world functioned. There's also that bit right at the end where Basim is sat looking at Eivor's grave in the current world. Eivor bleeds through so they are sitting next to each other. They nod at each other and smile in recognition; there is an understanding. They respect each other because their only concern all along was the same; family.
I don't think everyone sees this cut scene; it may depend on certain choices and feels like the hidden 'very good ending'.
Eivor had to learn the importance of family (it is pretty much the fulfilment of Eivor's story arc). Basim was always ahead of Eivor, because that was his only goal all along. So now we have enough to answer 'Who is Basim?'
Basim is like Eivor. He is an incarnation of Loki, but is not Loki. Like Eivor/Odin, Basim will reject Loki. Why? Because Basim told us himself; he lost his original family, and found a new one.
Loki is is a villain, but Basim is not. He is an Assassin and the Creed is his family. I'll bet when Basim finally does defeat Loki, he will note that he did it on advice of a good friend, and nod again in respect to someone who has long gone.

I think Basim's bio would give you the answer to that: Basim was the son of Ishaq, one of the builders of the Great Mosque of Samarra. Ishaq died in poverty after other person took the credit.
That would be the moment where Basim unlocked Loki's memories and allowed him to take over, because both shared the thirst for revenge against those who harmed their families.

    • @MrBALAKUMARA
      @MrBALAKUMARA 3 года назад +19

@@ghostwolf5347 About Hytham magically appeared with Sigurd is not a big deal. Because he would follow wherever Basim goes or tell him to do.
Basim magically appeared with Sigurd because, unlike Eivor who fought Odin in his sub conscious mind much later, Basim tried to fight Loki much much earlier. This was triggered because his father named Ishaq got murdered by someone (i forgot how, sorry). This triggered Basim's isu memory. The Loki. Because of his darker side (i didn't blame him, because he want vengeance for his father's death but still revenge is a darker one), which made him weaker against Loki. This made Loki to take over Basim.
About Sigurd, well from the start if the game itself he wanted to achieve far beyond like Randvi said. This means his reincarnation, Tyr, already took over him. This should have triggered his previous life.
So basically, from the start of the game we are not interacting with Basim and Sigurd, but we basically dealingwith Loki and Tyr!. Thats why Sigurd is mad at achieving something impossible from early of the game itself. Especially from oxenfordshire.
But Eivor didn't see this because his memories still hasn't been triggered but seeing only visions. He still not taken by Odin.

Basim is a middle eastern man from Baghdad fully entrenched in a Islamic upbringing but somehow is going to have visions of Norse gods, a religion for all intents and purpose exclusive to the Nordic people living 2,500 miles away from Baghdad. Ubisoft should not even include this portion in Mirage, it’s going to hurt Basim’s story in Mirage.

They said they made everything in it from scratch instead of reusing assets.
Baghdad build to be very vibrant and colorfull as well as very dense city filled with intelegent and adaptable AI. As well as parkour and stealth in mind, with the past AC games that have the best parkour and stealth as inspiration (not sure from what games) but much much more improved. While the combat took inspiration from the last mythologic trilogy, but with much like AC games. Not sure about the law of physic, but someone said that the dev also try their best to improve it to look as realistic as possible. Overall Mirage will have less mysthicism and more grounded to reality, or so they said.

I heard a rumour about a connection between basim and Altaïr and that a future game will bring back a fan favourite character to reveal an untold story. Basim’s knowledge will be used to tell the story of former assassin members.

If people played the dream missions to Asgard, Loki's and Basim's connection would be more evident. I'm more interested in finding out who the hushed voice is in Jotenhein.. sounds like Ezio or maybe it's Loki. They both sound similiar.

Desmond's body was dissected, and most of it would be rotting by now. All they needed was his brain and some parts of DNA. They ain't keeping a whole ass body for that.
