J.k.rowling honestly needs to have a look at ur collection!
I am not sure how I would react if I knew she had seen it... or was going to see it. But, I think I'd be able to play it cool in her presence... I think. lol
you should ask for guinness record
The indonesian's editions are simply awesome
Agreed
Agree
same i’m indonesian and they look AWESOME
I have the new covers 1 and 2 for the indo books they are so cool
oh no... 😂😂😂... iranian here... several things are responsible for this blasphemy... A) these books came out 2 to 3 days after their english release... so the translation has so many mistakes and the design team doesn't know what's happening in the actual book... speed was their only priority and thank god for that... nobody cared... B) iran has not signed the copyright act so you would find crazy things like this quite a lot here 😂😂😂... C) american sanctions have been in place for 30+ years so anything that could be tied to an american company or organization even in a tiny way can have a hard time legally... I apologize to the world... we did harry potter so wrong... 😓😓
This was SO interesting to read! Thank you for sharing this information with the community! And you didn't do Harry wrong. These covers (while a bit crazy) are so unique.
The Translations Have Been Set Perfectly.
What? 2-3 days to translate a book as long as this? As a translator myself, I'm, like, OFFENDED.
@@sk70091 😂😂😂... it was about speed but they would do a better job after it... since I am a fast reader, I would finish the books with my cousins that live in america...
as an Iranian i cringed ALOT😂😭
German Spell edition, New Indonesian edition,Dutch edition are such faves✨✨✨
All great choices!!
Come to Indonesia right now, we sale it in every book store
The Indonesian cover edition is so cool!
Omg you have new Indonesian edition 😱😱 that's my country 🇮🇩
You're so AMAZING 😇👍🏻👍🏻
I love them!
I so wish I had a room like that in my house...wow that’s magical
That Persian edition is soooo funny! Also thanks for all your vids, I love your collection!
The Persian (am i spell it right?) cover is the best among all of the other covers loll 😂
It's a good one, isn't it? Haha
I'm currently rereading the Goblet of Fire for the third time. I clearly remember disliking it the last two times but this time around I'm into it. Because of your videos, and a few other Potter fans, I've taken up embracing my love of the series. I've even begun turning my own wands because I wanted some for cosplay purposes.
AWESOME!!! I am thrilled that this channel and other Harry Potter fan channels are helping you embrace your love for this amazing book series. :D You'll have to email me some photos of your wands! I'd love to see them. thepottercollector@gmail.com
i love this book but the movie and the video game/s were a let down lol
I looooove the swedish cover!!
"Who's Tammi"
Tammi is the publishing company for the Finnish Harry Potter books.
I love the old school Danish books by Per O. Jørgensen
I love this series! And those Persian editions though! Wow! The way to tell apart Australian and Canadian editions is the publisher :)
You are correct! Publisher indeed! Australian you have to actually look at the copyright page though. Canada make it easy for us by putting Raincoast on the spine. :D
I like how when you said "it cracks me up" on the persian ones you voice CRACKed lo
Another great video Peter. Awesome. I thought that was cool with the dinosaurs and the 2 kids were on the front of the cover. Can’t wait for next weeks video. 😁😁👍👍🍻🍻
Thanks bud! I love the cover. It makes me laugh and smile and connects two things I love: Harry Potter and Jurassic Park!
The first of the Danish ones is my favorite Harry Potter cover of all time, with the Danish version of Deathly Hallows and also the Prisoner of Azkaban one from the same series of covers on a second place.
So interesting seeing all the different artwork on the covers! Keep the awesome content coming
Never seen those deluxe editions either. They look so clean
It really is... that's what makes them so fun to collect. :)
I also have a fun fact for you:
In the German books, there is a funny translation mistake - Klaus Fritz translated the game "Exploding Snap" to "Snape explodiert" (so.. 'Snape explodes')
I get that Snap and Snape are easy to confuse but... you realize that the game has nothing to do with Snape..or him exploding xD
but what I love about the German translation, is that ,apart from two exceptions, the names of the characters and Hogwarts houses were not translated. I know that this way some puns are lost but I like how close Klaus Fritz wanted to stick to the original names :)
Hahahaha I have heard of this before and I laugh every time! :D So so funny.
Sarah well, thats what translator notes are for...such puns can be explaine in footnotes. In croatian translations of some books they often are. Rules are rules, you dont translate names, only nicknames if they make sense(descriptive ones).
@@mistercrimesb We had footnotes in the Armenian versions, but then I heard that the English side decided to forbid them, so no more footnotes for us :( The second part had an accompanying booklet with translator's notes and that was it.)
I just love the spell edition and the rest of your collection
They are fun, aren't they?
My fave HP book😍😭
Tammi is Finnish book releaser thing i’m From Finland And Its amazing you have the Finnish books. And the white Person who holds the tammi sing in myrtle💓😅
You must be addicting >.> I'm seeing some covers that are truly spectacular and now find myself buying them and starting my own collection of sorts... sooo thank you! (I think lol) bookgoals '~.*.~'
You have NO idea how happy that makes me! My goal is to inspire (and help) collectors to do just that... COLLECT! So, Keep Collecting! You're welcome. Haha
I dunno if that Latin American Spanish art is on any other cover because I'm multitasking, but that is an absolutely GORGEOUS piece of art.
Can we please get a video of German adult editions? they're so mysterious!
Love how some of them are so different from others.
Your collection is my dream! This vid was amazing
Thank you! The collection is a labor of love. :)
I want to find those Japanese books! Loved the ending of your video too!
:)
The Bosnian cover has almost a 3D illusion to it. I've always loved the Danish cover for the 4th book and think it is my favourite this round, but the Latin American Spanish is way up there again.
You have a Hogwarts door knocker!
I know persian and right now reading e-book of goblet of fire and no word about dinosaures . It is just mad cover
Haha thanks for clearing that up!
The Potter Collector by the way he is Hari Patr and for example Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is Hari Patr va Sange Jagu
Your collection are awesome😍😍😍👍👍👍
Gosh!!! That Indonesian version is awesome dope!!! I just checking all series and all is dopes!!! Best all from Harry Potter cover ever after new UK animation cover
There are also paperback versions of each Finnish translation. Also, if you wanna get really specific with the editions, at least the earliest books (I'm not sure if all) were released with a font different from the one used in the movies, because, well, the movies hadn't come out when they started publishing them.
great video! these are seriously addicting to watch
Hey thanks! I am glad you enjoy them. :)
Persian cover edition is so random lmao😂😅
All of my original copies of Harry Potter are Raincoast (except 7 because I was visiting family in Boston when it came out). They hold a whole bunch of records in Canadian publishing because of Harry Potter. I don't think they even publish books anymore, I think they're just a distributor now.
Oh interesting! I wonder if that is true for other publishers around the world who had Harry Potter.
Actually, you would be right, about the word "dinosaur". Both have their root definitions to mean, "Terrible Lizard". The word, "leviathan" means the same thing as well. The word "dinosaur" wasn't created till way later, but is an updated version of the word "dragon". Some have even suggested that some species of dinosaurs survived the 65 million year ago extinction (i.e. besides evolved raptors a.k.a. birds), retaining their original biology and etc. Natives of the African Congo say that some species still survive in those areas if you show them art representations to them, for example. Another area of the world, India, they say the same thing. More proof of this is the suggestion from millions of locations around the world in rock beds like the Ashley Phosphate Beds in North Carolina of the U.S., which suggests that man and dinosaur lived side by side with mammoths and etc as well. Which if found to be true would change our entire history of what we thought we knew.
It's not so hard to believe a potential fire breathing dragon when one considers the Bombardier Beetle. It mixes two chemicals together to get a burning like effect.
There is a Finnish hardback with US cover art. I think it's the only one in the series published in Finland with two different cover arts for a hardback version.
that danish version looks really cool
Idk if you know, but you can actually find that "tammi" hidden in all of the finnish book covers if you look closely :D
Tuuli Auramaa I did not know! 😄 definitely going to search for it on the others now.
Great vid
:) you have the first privet museum haha - you shuold make ppl visit
I am hoping one day to have these books in a museum. :D
The Persian cover was hilarious.
It makes me sad that the number of covers we see keeps getting smaller.
I know! There are quite a few I didn't mention in the video that ended at GoF. Urdu is another one.
The Potter Collector nooooo that makes me so sad! People wanted to know what happened next which is why they should have kept going
For Urdu at least, most of the readers preferred English which is why they didn't continue and why Goblet of Fire in Urdu is so rare and difficult to find. Not many were printed.
That is super interesting! Still sad the videos will be shorter and with less covers
@@ThePotterCollector probably because most of them like reading in English.
This is nuts😳
P.S. You don't have the hard cover in Hebrew from " The Gold Edition"...
That Tammi in Finlands cover is the publisher of Harry Potter books in Finland
Oh too cool! So funny that the publisher is putting their name in the Goblet of Fire. :D
You can actually find 'Tammi' somewhere in every one of the Finnish book covers (the editions published by Tammi that is)
Hello from Indonesia 😍
It is my fav from the series
My favorite book
US Hardcover GOF cover will always be the best cover in harry potter.
"Tammi" is the publisher of the Finnish edition's :)
I just love that and loved seeing the other hidden Tammi in the covers.
4:56 Nope.....Dragon is not the same as dinosaur in Persian, and I really don't understand how I missed these details when I read these books 100 times!!!!
In Sweden the first 4 books were also published with the second adult edition covers. I don't know how many were printed, but I guess not a whole lot since they were discontinued. I have Prisoner of Azkaban like that (that I got for my birthday once). I hardly ever see these books out for sale, but every now and again they pop up and they are never realy expensive. Also the first Swedish editions were published by a published named Tiden, but some time after the seventh book they went under and (at least partly) got bought up by the publisher Rabén & Sjögrens, who continued to publish the Harry Potter books with the same covers, but they changed the name of the Mirror of Erised, from "Erised Spegeln" to "Mörd Spegeln" (Mörd being the Sweidsh word for Dream backwards). They also changed the entire script of the mirror to be backwards Swedish, but I don't know if they made any other changes.
Hmm... I will have to keep my eyes out for those! Can you email me a picture? thepottercollector@gmail.com. Thank you for the info. I did not know about the publisher and text changes! That means I'll have to find the newer ones too!
No problem, (I think). I just wrote you an email (it would have gotten to you in my real name Felix Bergman), however my computer died on me while sending and when it strated up again the attetchment was gone. I'm trying to send it again, through mail drop this time, since I think the reason my computer died was because it mail was too much for my crappy mail program to process. Hope you get it, if not, tell me and I'll try to get it to you some other way, I have pics concerning both topict I brought up in one PDF file.
It seems I cant get the attatchment to you with just an ordinary email, so I tried sending a dropbox link. The document dosn't contain any personal information, so I'll put a pbulic link here as well, so you and anyone interested can have a look

There are 2 new Greek versions one or them is a 20th anniversary that only 3000 copies of each book have been printed
waiting on your next book givaway
We look at the publisher which is raincoat I think for the Canadian edition
Yep! :D
You are amazing
You are amazing too. :)
Persian edition😂😂😂
Really😀😂
Hahaha
Finally!!!
it friyay vlog...love love it ! :)
Woot woot! :D
hahahaha..mybe u still not friday yet.. :p
waiting part 5...
Such an amazing collection you are showing us! Do you have HP books on audio or digital?
I have the UK deluxe edition!
I think I need to learn Dutch just so I can get those colourful minimalist paperbacks.
You vegans always dedicate so hard! Just buy the books- honestly you don't have to know the language
🏆🔥
I liked the 2nd edition Bulgarian and the Dutch version. ♡
Unfortunately, I only speak two languages (well,okay..I'm also learning French but I'm nowhere near conversational so the books still have to wait)
I own the 'normal' German edition and the adult edition English
the design of the adult edition is somewhat similar to that of the Russian black edition, isn't it?
I'm impressed that you are learning a third language! The Russian black editions are metallic.
1:31 I have question about the one with grey cover and a dragon on it - I didn't see this cover in part 5, I thought that those covers did not come out after Goblet but you always mentioned that some cover was last one, and now you did not say anything... Is this the last cover of this edition or you did not have this editions in others titles?
how come for some translations they didn't publish the whole series?
Some reasons are lack of interest, many countries just read the books in english... publishers went out of business.
Raincoast in the Canadian edition. :)
Did I learn something? :D
Yep! :)
There is this one American edition that you are missing I don’t know what it is called but I know you can find it at target
My copy of Goblet of Fire is a English copy with the original cover and dust jacket. But instead of Bloomsbury the publisher says *Ted Smart* can you please tell me what Ted Smart is?
Dinosaur cover wins hands down!!
Haha I agree!
Hello from Greece,
First of all......... WOW!
Second, i want to know how much money cost one part of the Vietnamese edition, because if the answer is 5$ each... then i can't even talk (write, in fact)...
And third, some of the editions are amazing...
They were a bit expensive as a set.
Plot Twist! Harry Potter and Jurassic Park take place in the same World.
What about the illustrated versions and the special deluxe illustrated versions?
Yes, I have those.
Can any of you guys give a link to see the new german edition that go out this year?
www.carlsen-harrypotter.de/blog/harry-potter-neuausgaben
Where are you finding the Norwegian editions with Ukrainian covers?
finn.no
what was your first harry potter book and in wich language
First was Sorcerer's Stone in english. First translation was Italian. :)
Tammi is a Finnish book producer and Tammi is hidden in all of the hardback Finnish books.
you look for raincoast
If it's made by raincoat
hey . i just saw your cover posted videos . thanks for God that some one actualy liked our contry poblished Farsi/persion covers .
it cavers always are a mistery to me to bicouse it have loads of other movies or books all together and usually Harry Potter on top of those carecters . you know why ? 'couse they wannted to say , Harry Potter story is the most successfull story in hole world yet !
to your question about Dinasors , they actualy do not tranclated dragens to Dinasor it's all about the film , Jorasic Park .
thank you for showing all the poblished translasions .
Hannah Urquart - it isn't my real name :)
P.S . sorry four my poor dictation :(
and sorry for waiting long . actually You Tube is filtered in Iran and now i using VPN to conect . :(
Yes, your covers are so unique! I enjoy them. :D
I have the Bloomsbury Jonny Duddle paperbacks 1-7, and his paperbacks to the Hogwarts Library (but only Fantastic Beasts is hard cover with jacket. The other 2 are paperbacks). What should I do?
You could try looking on eBay to complete your paperback or hardcover set. :)
1:57 raincoast
There are all books in marathi available in India
Do you have a Bahasa Melayu edition?
Indonesian's edition on the thumbnail :v
Yeah!
Wen i buying new books in the library (i'm prsian) i never ever think about it to take the harry potter books or even just look at theme cause thrust me! I always know how persian translations is ! Must of books i read (all of teenage books i read in the persian translation) is SUCKS! That's one of my reasons to learn English
What german 20th anniversary books do they look like. I tried googling them and it came up with no result about them
www.carlsen-harrypotter.de/20yearsofmagic
That persian cover how is that possible? :d
Haha I’ve no idea 😂
Wait... WHERE IS THE VERY WELL ILLUSTRATED GOBLET OF FIRE?
It didn’t exist when this video was published.
The Potter Collector oh ok
I'm Iranian and no dragon doesn't translate to dinosaur in Persian. Our word for dinosaur is the same as the English word dinosaur and we have an entirely diff word for dragon
my best guess as to what happened here is that whoever designed the covers for books 1-4 hasn't actually read the books 😂 has no idea what happened in them and is just given the vaguest description to create the covers from
Haha I can just imagine that cover designer being told what happens and then making up this idea in their head. Thank you for clarifying!
You said they wouldn't be on a shelf, but at least one of them clearly was on a shelf. I'm so confused!
What wouldn't be on a shelf?
@@ThePotterCollector "This is the part where I show you the books that have not been placed on a shelf yet" 🤔
Petra Hübinette Oh gotcha. I see how that can be confusing. When I get new books, I put them at the end. What I meant was “time to show you the books that haven’t been placed in their proper place.”
The ending is the same as the bakeey
Oh my gosh! That is awesome!
Am I the only one looking at his collection of books and thinking “He won’t realize if one set goes missing 😳😳😳”
My favorite boooooook of the series
The serbian looks like book cover from a Series of unfortunate events :D
Why didn't they publish the other bosnian books?
I think they may be... just slowly.
2:48 is what you clicked for.
You actually missed 2 Danish versions😂 the same ones as the 2014 (new) ones from uk. Aaaand idk what its called but i have one thats super Cartoon-ish. (Btw im Danish)
Yes I am. :( Can you help me find them? Send me an email if you can: thepottercollector@gmail.com
Yeah the Iranian harry potter covers are to funny aka the old ones!.I'm from Iran and I read them all.the translate doesn't related to the cover
