- Wood can be so beautiful all by itself, but when multiple species of beautiful wood are combined... well, you get something truly special.
Balck Walnut, Tigerwood, Zebrano, Figured Maple, along with some thin strips of Maple and Mahogany veneer, are on the menu for this week's project. Pull up a chair, a nice cup of coffee or tea, and enjoy.

The board arrived in the mail yesterday as a wedding gift! The bonus was seeing this cool video on how it was made, with the perfect music choice 😊 It is so gorgeous, thank you so much for the time and care you put into making this one of a kind gift. I can’t wait to use it.
Mr H , This is beautiful ! You have an eye for selecting wood and it’s always a nice surprise when you cut into it . The wood gives up it’s secrets. 😊👍👍
Thank you so much! 😊
That's a mighty fine looking cutting board. Simple yet ellegant design. Outstanding, MSgt Humphrey!!!!

Beautiful Rod.
The different woods work so well together.
I love the simple design as well.
Take care my friend.
Cheers, Huw
Thank you, Huw! Cheers!
It is absolutely amazing how black walnut looks after. It has been sealed and how much more it pops.
Love the transformation!
Absolutely phantasmagorically beautiful. See ya soon Brother!
Thank you, my friend.
Awesome! I'm betting Mrs. Humphrey is super happy...
Thank you! She loved it but it was destined elsewhere. 😊
@@RHumphrey Well... you get married long enough and then you start to get the hang of it... will she like it or not... :)
Absolutely Beautiful
Thank you! 😊
Gorgeous! Another beautiful piece.
Thank you very much!
Good sunny morning, Brother.
The text said, No words. I did miss the words, however it was very relaxing just pulling up a chair to the sounds and movement in your shop. The addition of music is a bonus. I have music on in my shop all the time. My wife played Cannon often. It is nice to be still and know. Your silent descriptions told us about this project as we took in the aroma of the coffee. The board looks fantastic. I like the mahogany veneer between the thin maple strips. Excellent touch.
God Bless
Thank you very much, my friend. Sometimes silence is needed, be it for the video or other reasons. God Bless.
Great mix of wood combinations.
Thanks very much!
Beautiful, Rod, as is all of your work.
Bill

Thank you, Alan! 😊
Nice wood contrast... and I have been wanting to try that edge technique on my cutting boards. Another beautiful job sir.
The 40 degree undercut makes really pretty and useable handles, without having actual handles. Thank you, Roger
Looks good.
Thank you!
Very beautiful piece, sir. Have a great weekend ✌️
Thanks, you too, Cookie!
Oh, that's lovely! Black walnut never looks like much until the first wet coat, but then it really shines. Love the contrasting grains and how they give the board definition. Thanks for sharing your work.
Thank you so much!
Very beautiful Rod.
Thanks very much, Jack!
The music just made this video transcend to another level. Amazing work ❤ 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Thank you so much, my friend. I can lose myself in good classical...

Wonderful, the grains in the wood go together so well.

Beautiful wood selection. Nicely arranged. Well edge trimmed. Really good finish. Not my favorite music. But what the hell, four out of five ain't bad. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
I always loved Pacabels Canon in D, but then I played violin as a kid. I get it's not everyone's cup of tea.
Thank you, my friend!
Beautiful piece

Awesome and inspiring work. I missed your voice. It makes me feel like a friend is talking to me while working.
Thank you so much, that means a lot to me. I just couldn't use my voice this week.
Stunning mate.
Thank you! Cheers!
Rod, you freaked me out when you were pushing those small pieces across your jointer with only your fingers. Please, please use pusher blocks or something to keep your hands further away from the blades in the future. I had to go to the emergency room a few years ago when doing just that and my hand slipped. Took 13 stitches to sew what was left of the skin on the side of my finger back together. That goes for everyone watching, also.
That said, the piece is gorgeous, of course.
Nice job🐝
Thank you! 😊
BZ shipmate, Well done!!
Tango Yankee, brother!
Very nice
Thank you!
👋👍🏻🎼
Thank you!
Awesome looking board and great choice of woods,, just curious though,, why use denatured alcohol between Samsungs instead of water to pop the grain?
Thanks very much! Great question, impatience, lol... the Denatured Alcohol evaporates a lot quicker.
👍
Thank you!
Tigerwood and zebrawood in the same project? Did you just get your tax return?
haha! It was a special occasion build, but your point is well taken!
