I feel like hobby horsing is just an excuse to bully kids, little girls specifically, for their interests. shockingly, those same people will complain about the "ipad kid epidemic" and how kids these days just dont go outside!
12:42 IS SO REAL. How fragile does your confidence in your athleticism have to be for you to claim that hobby horse riders roleplaying undermines all the work you put into your own sport?? Overall this is all so well said. Good job.
THANK YOU for the video you said so much stuff i want to say lol. i don't understand hobby horsing fully but i think its super cool?? hobby horsing is like quadrobics imo in the same vein of 'fun thing to do' with crafts and all the stuff you listed + the whole everyone else makes fun of ppl who do it but?? like 12:24 good for them for getting their exercise in a fun and enjoyable way?? ++ 8:24 also mostly made of younger folks now growing up to be young adults and sticking to it although i say quadrobics definitely have more children BUT STILL big similarities so super enjoyed the video
I agree with most the things you said- one thing I would like to touch on is how you said it’s just as physically and athletically demanding as riding a real horse. This is the first video I have ever seen of your so I don’t know if you ride horses or have ever rides horses- but. I don’t do hobby horsing but I like to run and jump over random things just as much as the next adventurous person. I have never dived into hobby horsing but from watching this video, saying it was just as demanding as real horse riding is just… I don’t want to be rude but it’s not- please correct me if I’m wrong on any of this. Hobby horsing, all the skill is on you, you have to run, jump, do the right movements, and yes there is danger like any sport but not to the degree of riding a real horse! (I’m an equestrian I ride a few different disciplines/events) with a real horse it’s companionship- it’s on you and the horse, you have to do the right movements to get your horse to do the right moments, so on and so forth with all gaits, jumping, and more, don’t forget the aspect of trust! And with horses- anything could go wrong at any moment! Sorry for the paragraph- just wanted to say I think your wrong about ‘it’s just as physically and athletically demanding as riding a real horse” once again no hate on hobbyhorsing or you Funny comments about the video: also wanna add I’m an equestrian who collects Breyer horses lol WHEN SHE IS EXPLANINB HOW TO MAKE ONE AND THEY KISS 😭 Hobby horsing does seem fun So happy you enjoyed having fun with ‘him’ in public! Also I think Daniel is a great name for him
That's a fair criticism; I hadn't really thought of the danger aspect. Tbh I'd read so many mean things about hobby horsing when writing this video that I was feeling a bit defensive and hyperbolic lol
@@FillyFrolix I understand! This video really changed my perspective on hobbyhorsing and I agree with everything you said except that. Happy you understand what you said wasn’t fully correct and didn’t get all defensive like some ppl lol, also I subscribed and like you vids! Keep it up! ❤ :)
I always wanted to do this,I could never afford to own my horse or even take lessons I feel like this is a way for me to live out my best horse girlie life (even though i'm a almost 30 trans man).
I do hobby horsing when I’m bored but it’s not actually one of my hobbies
