Enjoy this people time is moving faster now. Great bands like Chicago will soon be another great memory...and I mean great. What a great gift of their musical genius for our enjoyment... Chicago an American and Chicagoan original. God bless guys and thankyou!
My favorite chicago song. I always loved what the horns did for this. I tried to write songs like that myself where the horn stands out. But ill never really know until i get a real horn.
Listen to the audience reaction at song's end. Why such negativity among some viewer comments here? What band on the surface of the earth after 50+ years hasn't gone thru change? Chicago happened to benefit from a great deal of continuity for some time until recently. I was aiming to showcase the legendary horn section in this piece. Extraordinary band -- however you wish to measure it.
aka "Mad Dad" Yeah remember seeing the original band way back when in the very early 70's at The Bushnell Theater in Hartford, CT. They were fantastic.

Be well and stay well Keith! I don’t know how he broke his hand. I hope it was an accident. I know that Steve Clark from Def Leppard deliberately tried to hurt his hand to try and avoid touring I think. Keith you are and will be missed in Chicago! Thanks for the great performances over the years. I’m sad to see you go. God bless , merry Christmas and happy and healthy new year 2022! I hope it’s better for all of us than 2021!
So glad I got to see Chicago in September. Keith Howland left the band last week and was replaced by Peter Cetera's lead guitarist from his last solo tour in 2018. I hope Keith is not ill. The weight gain does not look normal. More like steroid bloat.
@@chriscianciolo5823 I was front row center at the CA concert I saw on Sept. 8, 2021. They kept throwing me their guitar picks and I caught Keith Howland and Robert Lamm's (he played guitar on Beginnings). I could see Keith was struggling and sweating a lot at the beginning of the concert. I am not surprised Keith left the band a couple months later. Keith had the same kind of bloat like Norm Macdonald after 2012 (he was rail thin his entire life before that). I hope I am completely wrong and it was just my imagination.
I haven't been to a Chicago show in years and I'm not overly familiar with the more recent lineups, but I like how that drummer tips his hat of Danny Seraphine especially with the hi-hat accents. I liked Tris just fine, but he seemed to streamline Danny's more intricate drum arrangements whereas this fellow, Walfredo Reyes Jr., seems to be restoring some of the cool complexity which made Chicago's drum sound distinctive.
I am such a big Chicago fan, from the very beginning...but, I'm sorry, I can't take listening to or watching that lead singer...The other guys are working and playing their hearts out.. This guy looks and acts and sounds like a Las Vegas style, tenor crooner, who just happens to be able to hit most of the notes. I feel for the rest of the band.
The band chose this guy and ironically when Cetera joined the band he asked to hold the microphone 🎤 but the band said "No, you gotta play something ".Others got to do what Cetera first asked for. That's very weird to do it now.
@@gregoryleo4640 At this point it really doesn't matter who's better than who , who's worse than who or who the singer is now. Chicago has no more hits, new songs that won't get played on the radio. Just a touring band. After Cetera and Scheff who both had radio hits and exposure. It's get like movie sequels . After the 2nd movie every move doesn't stir curiosity, excitement or buzz. Lou Pardini who came after Champlin is gone. But Donny Dacus who co_sings the 1978 "Alive Again" got exposure because he succeeded Kath. Then Champlin came later he had more hits but didn't replace Kath on guitar , he just sang Kaths tunes then Lou Pardoni comes in he had absolutely NO HITS and how he ended up singing "Call on me" well, I won't I don't know. But after a while. It just doesn't matter anymore. The identity of a band gets less consistent especially after 50 yrs.
Well of course, Terry Kath, Bill Champlain, Peter Cetera, & several others are not there, but Robert Lamm, Jimmy Panko, the sax player, & the other keyboard player are! And that’s good enough for me!!!
I don't know who's who in this beloved band anymore. Many have come & gone. Please retire guys & let us long time fans remember you the way you were. Enough is enough.
Neil has a really good Cetera-sounding voice, but in signing this he sounded like hack Las Vegas lounge singer. Please just sing the song the way it's meant to be sung.
Now of course, back in the day when Cetera was in the band they couldn't be beat. Unless Cetera was trying to be all cutsie and butcher the song with inappropriate adlibs. That's my whole point, Leonid and friends, are in studio but their still doing a live performance. So they are trying to do as close as possible to how the original studio version was done. And that's what people want to hear, and that's why Leonid and friends are so popular because their true to the original recordings.
I wish they’d retire. Kind of a disgrace to their legacy. Most “rockers” don’t age well unlike jazz or classical musicians. Unless you’ve never seen them before, who would pay to see this? I’d rather remember them in their prime.
@@chrisschrecker5497 More than jist retire. They need to also retire the band name. Interestingly, it was in an interview with Keith (no longer in the band now, but in this performance) that the suggestion was brought up that there could still be a "Chicago" well after all the original members are gone. Let's hope not.
No they don't. A dumb tribute band is not better than the real Chicago. BTW, does the tribute band pay royalties for the songs they steal from the real Chicago?
Kind of a sad comment. The three originals are all closer to age 80 than 70. I give them credit for being out there - many their age are either in nursing homes, or underground.
I saw the original 7 line-up three times in concert in the early 70s. Not sure why they continue to perform. Not the same without Terry, Peter, Danny and Walter in the group.
One of my favorite bands of all time I’ve been listening to Chicago since I was two, Wayback in 1972

One of my all time favorite bands.
Great performance! All the instruments and voices sound superb.
Have to say, I love watching Lee and Jimmy...because they always look like they're having such a good time!!!
The best band ever . Met Jim Pankow when I bought his house in Encino about 1973 or so .
Sounding and looking as great as ever !!! 😉👍
Gotta Love Chicago!

I remember seeing a "Chicago Transit Authority 8 track in my army buddy's house back in January 1974...now THAT'S old...
Chicago what an amazing band l recall seeing them at the Albert Hall in the late sixties a memorable night

Thanks for sharing! Cool cover band, pretty good job of covering Leonid & Friends.
Yeah, we'll see how those thieves sound when they're in their mid-70's. If L & F had to play their own music, they'd be out of work.
Legendary 🎉❤! Tight as ever!

Chicago was americas biggest band i think. And even better there was never anyone in the band like henley.
But my god the horn section at least here has that Chicago one set of lungs swing.
Going to miss Keith Howland but I’m looking forward to what he does on his own

Evh also hurt his hand on the 82-83 diver down hide your sheep tour. I think he punched a wall
The best band ever
Der Sänger hat eine Riesenstimme, tritt dezent und bescheiden auf. Das gefällt mir sehr. Er lässt die früheren Sänger der
Band vergessen.
I miss Keith H. He was a really good guitarist.

Keith broke his arm before going onstage In Louisville

The original drums on this track by Danny Seriphine were amazing.

Oh by the way Peter Cetera was a good bass player!!!
His name is NEIL DONELL. He is a vocalist. He can play a little bit of acoustic guitar. Therefore, Chicago also had to hire a BASSIST, Brett Simons.
Neil Donnell is a better vocalist than the 2 tenors that came before him in Chicago.

What happened to Keith. Great player. Looks like he blew up on steroids. Health issue? No Keith, no Lou, no Jason, no Teish, not much left.
Is that still Keith Howland on guitar? If so, he gained a lot of weight.

Wow what is going on with Keith Howland. Two years ago I saw him in Houston and he has put on a ton of weight since then. Something isn't right.
All those years of ear training shot to hell. He certainly sings flat. My ears hurt.
