- In this vlog I head to Carters Steam Fair for one last visit during their final tour across the country! I'm joined by my wonderful dad as we enjoy a variety of different rides at this traditional steam fair at Beacon Park in Lichfield. This includes on ride footage from the Giant Octopus, Lighting Skid, Dodgems and many more fantastic attractions. Carters Steam Fair will stop touring later this year, so summer 2022 is the perfect time to enjoy this spectacular fun fair making its way across the UK one final time!

An absolute gem! Many happy memories with Carters for me with family history.
I'm really sad to see its last tour when everything looks so immaculate! Of to Astle Park steam fair in Chelford fpr a weekend camp and to scatter my dads ashes with on of the steam engines thos weekend. Its worth a visit it you get chance. Lovely making happy memories with you father x

For a fun fair the rides are in immaculate condition. Everything looks so clean and maintained. It's the penny arcade of fun fairs. Hope they find a permanent home ;)

I remember going on the steam yachts… definitely underestimated them, I thought I was gonna fly off🤣🤣
Oh yes, I remember the "Octopus" ride from my childhood. Only been on it once and I'm guessing I must have been about 6 to 8 years old. We sure did look forward to the fair coming to our town once a year back in the 1970's. This and the dive bomber were the two big rides I went on back then.

Octopus is my favorite ride there.. i love the designs that they choose to put on their rides is so beautiful and colorfull. I love u guys and have fun and be safe.

I went Saturday afternoon and evening for the first time. Absolutely loved it. The fireworks where banging. We was waiting in the q for the skid and the guy running it was just about to send it then he said on the mic, "If your caught spitting on the floor again you will be barred from the fair, we don't want that attitude" Mentioned It to my dad that we went and he wants to go to one of the other venues. Looks like I'll be going again. Yay 😍
The skid, oh yes. Love it. I got my mum on it (she loved it) The last time she went on a funfair ride was on the waltzers a good few years ago & she was 🤮😵💫🤮😵💫🤮😵💫🤮 quite a few times. 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Beautiful looking fair this one. Here's a bit of age, history fair knowledge. My first fair was just known as the fair in Enfield. Moved onto Kings Lynn and the fair was known as the "Mart". Then introduced to the Ashby de la Zouch fair...known as the "Statutes". Also introduced to the Nottingham "Goose" fair. Lastly, just been once to Ilkeston fair...which is or was the largest street fair in England.
Great vlog , I went last week with my daughter, she absolutely loved it, I think because it’s at beacon park so long this time, people went at different times so it didn’t look packed at any time. So sad to see it go from Lichfield, out local park. All the best to everyone at carters fair and thank you .

Lovely to see you and your dad having some fun. My favourite was the octopus but have fond memories of my brother taking control on the skid. Hopefully some stately home might buy/home them but I'm sure it's a lot of work to keep them going.

There's is something timeless about Merry Go Rounds.
Asbury Park New Jersey was my hangout in the late fifties and sixties and their classic MGR even had the brass ring grab
and a classic funhouse.
Seaside Heights had a wonderful MGR that was destroyed in that hurricane Sandy in 2012.
It was a sad moment, I loved the music and classic hand carved horses.
Riding one let's your mind drift away, it' truly meditation.
This Steam Fair has that feel without being frantic.

Lovely to see yourself and your dad enjoying a Carter’s fair. Some real nice traditional rides there but my favourite I think is the lovely old Gallopers with traditional organ sounds. I remember my late father taking me on them as a young lad and riding on the horses. Nice vlog as ever👌😉

It was great to see you shaun and it was nice to be able to ride the yachts with you. For anyone wondering the reason I rode the other side was too balance the boat out, so the steam engine doesn't have too much strain on one side. Just a quick thing as well. You called the gallopers a carousel in the video. Don't let joby hear you say that! 😂

I went to a funfair yesterday it was Tuckers Funfair there was a few rides there even was a new ride it looked beautiful i can not wait until they return.
They should put it in infoldmells or Skegness where the traditional fair is sometimes near the boating lakes

I passed the convoy of the Carters fair when they were travelling to set up for JCB’s anniversary party. What a great collection of vehicles to see on the road. It will be sad to see it stop travelling but hope it finds a worthy new home. I would love it at Alton Towers

The Skid is great when you get it bouncing on the wire. The place looked deserted, good choice of days.

Dive bomber was at Basingstoke in 2019 as that was the last time I rode it. Favourite ride is the skid though. Real shame it’s there final tour. Been going since I was a 8 year old kid and still going as a big kid in his 30s 😂

Cool, do they still own the more extreme rides like the Divebomber? I rode it at Southend On Sea about 8 years ago and it's genuinely scary 😳 Fabulous ride 👍 Caught the fair at Maldon earlier this year too on thif farewell tour 👍
