A strangely pleasant surprise to see how well the place is looking here! I used to work here until the end of June that year so honestly great to see it doing well after I left! One sad note is I know Flip Flop used to be a much better ride before the capacity was reduced. I would say the covid/plague days were not a flattering time for the place, but I hope this is now a good sign for the future of the place
Sik was the first coaster I’d ever been on that inverted and it was amazing. I’d never ridden on because I just couldn’t there was something physiological that was stopping me. After going on it I feel stupid there isn’t anything bad about them and their fun
I love flamingo land I think it's the first theme park I have ever whent to and in 2022 summer In August I got over my fears of roller coasters and I think it's my fav place ever and I rlly hope I go thi year to ride them again ♥️♥️
Shawn and Charlotte, I'm so happy you both had such a good day, even with the cooler weather. You ride so many different ones, even simpler family amusements, that everyone can watch your Videos and get a good idea of what's available to ride, to eat or just relax!!!! Cheers, Rik Spector
The water tunnel on the lost river ride does work but it’s turned off due it flooding the boats before the lift hill and causing them to not go away up the hill The story from the lost river ride was turned off because the ride no longer stops around the ride like it used to ( this is because the rides control system was completely replaced by a new system by a completely different company) that’s why it’s replaced with music instead. The ride has actually received a lot of TLC in recent years such as, - New speakers - new sensors and a whole new ride system controlling it - new panelling on the drop - new motor for the lift hill - new maintenance area - repainted boats The ride could have more issues replaced but Unfortunately without a new sponsor that probably won’t happen
Some great rides now at Flamingo-Land, great coasters, (except Hero), and water rides. It’s great fun to see Charlotte not liking the intense water rides and ready for a soaking. That new Sik coaster is amazing and got to be in the top five in the UK now! Nice vlog Shawn and Charlotte 👌
Glad to see flip flop wasnt sold. When i visited the op said it had been tamed down a bit and could tell but at least its not one less ride in the park. Lost river badly needs more boats!
At 5:06, the jeep theming from Lost River Ride used to be featured on Top Gun, the park's former Intamin Flight Trainer ride from 1996 to 2004! Also at 35:05, you can see the old concrete footers and site of Magnum Force from Kumali's lift hill! Great Vlog! Sik is fantastic and a great ride!
oh dear there she goes.. funny how you disappear backwards out of frame.. i saw the SIK VIP Video and enjoying your summer vlog.. one of my favourite parks Flamingo Land.. nice one thanks
When the flip flop was the terroriser (90’s) it was my first upside down ride. I was only just tall enough and clung on for dear life. Was honestly terrified I was going to fall out 😂
I'm with Charlotte on wet rides, they are ok in Florida or Spain but in the UK it just gets you cold n miserable... They have a good one at portaventura.. A big boat that goes down a steep hill... Thanks again.. Enjoy you two.
Sugar me it took you 5 minutes to get on the water ride it took me 3 hours yesterday but it was worth it I felt like I was gonna fly of when we went straight down
The smaller parks are really going for it these days. I've never been to flamingo land, but my friends still go on about their holiday there in the early 90s, it's probably changed a bit since then. 🤣
Can’t wait to go here managed some time off in September so heading to Filey with family and schedules in a day at the park. I haven’t been for 25 years
Anybody else felt the anticipation of the drop on, The Lost River Ride? I thought it would be like Tidal Wave. Wasn't expecting the animals. Looks like fun. Could be awesome, with some upgrades.
Interesting vlog for me, as not been to Flamingo land. I'm one who doesn't particularly like the lay down on tummy Rollercoasters. Been on Air a few times but probably never again. Been on Manta once but multiple times to SeaWorld. Just may go on it once more. I'm with Charlotte, getting wet is fine but getting soaked is not !! Lol. Thanks for showing. I learnt a lot from this vlog.
Well, my first ever visit to flamingo land. From where I live, I have to drive 2 hours past Alton towers/Blackpool/Lightwater valley, so flamingo land really needed to impress. I must say overall it was a good experience. I found the layout very confusing, I had to ask how to get to the lazy river ride... Also, the lack of fountains on the way around looked pretty poor. I'm pretty sure it broke down later in the day, because the same group of white shirts and mechanics were near the upside of the drop that were trying to fix velocity earlier in the day. Hero beat my knees to a pulp, but I'm glad I did it, outside left position, couldn't see and corners coming! Madness and unique in my experience. Sik needs another train, and on entry to the park a blue sign that you can't see until you are right next to the shop stated that Sik would open at 2. This was a lie, and it eventually opened at 3. What kind of a park opens their newest star attraction, only 6 days after launch 5 hours after the park opens, and only 2 hours before it closes? I'm dumbfounded, really. Rode Sik 3 times, and jeez Louise are those lapbars freaky on the inline twists. They just don't seem enough to keep you from lolloping around all over the place!
I love that you can film on ride at Flamingo Land, makes these vlogs much more interesting to me than the Alton Towers, Thorpe Park etc vlogs. I still watch those vlogs and enjoy your commentary, but it would be SO much better if you could film on ride. Let's hope Merlin never buy Flamingo Land. 😂
Another amazing video can’t wait for loads of amazing videos over the summer absolutely love Charlotte every time especially the water ride keep it up xxx
I went in late july 2022 and we waited 2 hours for Kumasi which actually failed and so many people left but we stayed and got on but trust my luck my glasses flew away on it (the biggest rollercoaster I’d been on before this was the big dipper in Barry’s portrush NI which was tiny in comparison so I had no clue you can’t wear glasses on rides. This was our first day but with a good few phone calls and some begging with spec savers we got a new pair in 5 days.
I first visited Flamingo Land in August 2021 and my favourites were Kumali and Velocity. Unfortunately I think I must have come on one of the busiest days of the year because I only managed to get on 5 rides in a 7 hour day. It's a shame a lot of the coasters only operate with one train. I will definitely return at some point when it's not busy to get the credits I missed, get back on my favourites and of course try Sik! And possibly the Lost River Ride...
I went here back in December to look at the zoo but went through the theme park on the way back to the car. Crazy to see how empty and deserted the park is with everything closed compared to mid-summer when it's full
Used to go to flamingoland on holiday every year when I was younger, love what they’ve done to the park but some of the old rides defo need tlc. Miss when that ride used to act like it’s broken down lol

7:12 Oh dear, that was quite the soaking. Proud of her not shouting her head off XD 24:05 I think I've seen this before, and it amazes me how much "thrill" they put into a small footprint like that. This park has so much potential if they improved the theming. Take a look at Efteling, they have old and sometimes unspectacular attractions. But the overall theming makes it magical (if this park would be in a forest it would instantly improve it)
I'll be honest I love your theme park compilations and watching Charlotte's reactions to water rides just cracks me up, I was a little unfortunate on the timing of my holiday earlier this year because I went to Pickering which is just up the road from Flamingo Land the week before SIK was being opened on July 2nd I believe so I was absolutely gutted but hopefully I'll be back to experience it next year in 2023 👍
Great video Shaun and Charlotte! Not been to flamingo land in a few years but as my nearest park I might have to pay it a visit soon to have a ride on Sik! I think ill be going just for the cheese straws! Haven't ever made it onto Kumali as every time I've been its been closed for repair so the closest thing I've ridden is infusion at pleasure beach which I know is no comparison, hoping to pay a visit soon!
I always enjoy your vlogs on Flamingo Land glad you took the time to do a full vlog and not just a vlog on Sik. I agree with you that they should spend this closed season getting all the other rides effects working and painting them up to make them look fresh again. There used to be a small water effect on Voodo, which kept the water from getting full of algae, they should do something with that old cafe next to the lake or remove it and put something else there. The lake has got so much potential for new rides and water effects in the future. Hopfully they will make enough money to improve the park for next year. It would be great if you visited the park more often I know they do a Halloween event.
9:18 I've never seen one of those rides with a roof over the station like that. Interesting. 30:10 Those chain swings scare the shit out of me. Only rides that do. The ones that Cedar Point has, where seats are attached via steel supports, didn't bother me. As I'm not afraid of heights. But the chains, they snap about and you spin, even more so if you're alone and unbalanced. Phew, I had a scary ride on SF Over Texas where I swear they shouldn't have been running it with the wind speeds. I was violently snapping almost 180 degrees the entire time up there. Haha
Great vlog. It’s made me watch some old footage of flamingo land. A little bit of nostalgia lol. I really miss the bullet. I don’t think they should have got rid of that ride. Flamingo land really do have a habit of replacing good rides with bad ones. They did it with the bullet (I like kumaili, just not as much as the bullet). The wild mouse was replaced with hero (agree with you - terrible ride). Flying trapeze was a really good coaster that shouldn’t have gone. Thunder mountain was another fab little coaster. The haunted mansion! That was a really cool little ride. I do miss the old flamingo land. Haven’t been there in over 10 years!! Atleast Sik is a perfect replacement for the corkscrew. The corkscrew was a nostalgic ride but it was a painful experience!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide yes! sik really got the park back in shape as the park is not as well known as other uk parks but more people are / were hyped about it.

Lovely vlog thanks. If they put the new trains on the shenlin it would be so much better. I guess with lap bars sik is better than colossus. It's a nice enough park probably worth a visit next year.
excellent video Shawn & Charlotte, at Flamingo Land Resort in our action-packed vlog! In this video, we share on ride povs from a variety of attractions at the park including Cliff Hanger, Kumali, Velocity, and Mumbo Jumbo. Along with that, we experience all of the rides that were closed on our previous visit back in May, such as The Lost River Ride, Flip Flop, and Navigator. We also share on ride footage from SIK, the park's new 10-inversion roller coaster, and much more! keep the good videos up on the channel both of you, big thumbs well to both of you.

Hi is it tomorrow you be uploading the new video at fromlingo land
I love the part when Charlotte said “I was nearly sick” and Shawn said “sick wrong ride!!” Legendary ✨
I've seen all of ur videos plus the flamingo land vlogs enjoyable/fun👍
OMG TYSM I'M LITERALLY SHAKING AND CRYING FROM HAPPINESS
Charlotte’s reaction to a water ride. Makes me think you should make a compilation with Charlotte on the water rides🤣🤣🤣🤣 would be funny🤣🤣
Yeah a bloopers reel would be great of Charlotte on water rides

That’s great to hear! Thanks for your continued support!
Don’t ever stop saying your famous quotes!😂 I find myself saying in my head “helix helix helllixxxxxx”
Agreed. Shawn has made me shout it everytime I experience a Helix.
SAAAME DUDE!
I did it at Fantasy Island where I first heard it and people on the coaster looked at me thinking I was a complete physco 😂
I'm planning on saying it on the helix on Quicksilver Express at Gilroy Gardens in California tomorrow
