Besides the fact that Jody Miller is just all-around fabulous, this must be the most popular of the Scopitones. Jody herself still gets a chuckle from it.
Jody, the devine one, playing along with the joke. Sensationally arranged and what's the with ballet boy? TWO queens in the house. A wonderful time piece!!!!
I only ever saw 1 Scopitone machine.....sometime in the late 1960s. It was in a neighborhood pizza parlor. Bobby Vee's 'The Night Has a Thousand Eyes' is one I remember seeing on that thing. I'd love to have one of those machines completely restored, but filling it with some of the old films themselves, would probably be next to impossible.
+ilrodigino A fellow recording artist Mary Taylor wrote the words to the woman's point of view to Roger Miller's tune. Roger Miller predicted it would be a hit, but since Mary Taylor already had a single out, the song was offered to Miss Jody Miller to record. Capitol Records rushed Jody's recording to radio stations, and it became a smash hit. In fact, "Queen of the House" was so popular that the Capitol Records pressing plant couldn't keep up with public demand. The song was a hit on Billboard Hot 100, Country, and Easy Listening charts. Jody won a Grammy for the song in 1966. For more about Jody Miller, visit her official Facebook page: facebook.com/Jody-Miller-418926134844636/?ref=bookmarks and her website jodymillermusic.com
I had never heard of Jody Miller until seeing this and her version of The Race Is On. Dadgum. She had talent and was cute as a button! The French maid dancers, like most Scopitones... were a tacky and superfluous disservice to Miller's talents.
She passed away in 2022.

Most of the answer songs in the 60s weren't very good, but this was the best. A answer or reply to Roger Miller's King of the road.

+Jennifer McMullen Thanks Jenny, I found this video sexy & elegant. Now I know also the story. Hi.
Four kids and another on the way? She needs to stop sending them to his mom and dad's!

Aw, have some fun. These were meant to watched in dark, seedy bars.
It's camp. It's so silly, it's great.
The dancers are GREAT! Ya' gotta love those frilly knickers. Back when the air was clean and sex was dirty!
obviously you are jealous of their beauty and talents. lighten up.
How cheesy can you get?
