Thanks my Yamaha T8 had exactly the same problem as described in this video. Three blades of the impeller broken off. I found the broken blades in exactly the same two locations mentioned in this video.
Great Video.... You skipped the part where you connect the shifter barrel nut together with the other nut to connect the shifter. It's a bit tricky cause you have to play with the shifter to expose and line up to put the barrel nut on.
Yes unfortunately some of the tough parts we needed more hands for. Wish we could demonstrate it but it took us a while as well to get it as well as set it so it has forward neutral and reverse at the right levels
It’s a tough one to diagnose don’t want to blow too much pressure through the coolant line as it could damage the hose. If you are worried about any that went up the line then I suggest bringing it in to get fixed by a professional as that is a much bigger job than shown in the video. We pieced all the broken parts of the impeller together and it looked like none were missing so we took the chance that none went up the line. Hope this helps.
if you are talking about the part where we twist the impeller as we put the housing over it, then it was because we needed another set of hands. it requires quite a bit of force when you do it
I added some Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease that doesn't have petroleum inside the metal cup where the impeller goes and it was easy to put on. I just rotated the spline on top as I slightly push down on the cover and it went in perfectly. Just remember to go clock wise. I had to do this a couple of times cause I put the housing backwards.

How do you know bits of the impeller did not go up into the engine
?
The impeller is in a housing & has no path to get inside the engine, no worries there, just take out the old impeller & install a new one.
@@SG-oi8rl bits of the impeller can break off and go up the coolant line . I had this happen with a 5 hp mercury.
Not good, could clog the pipe.

@@JKFishingYt are used a combination of a coat hanger and compressed air.. It seems to work fine.
i cant get the shifter rod disconnected from the upper part of the
Should be able to unscrew the nut all the way until it releases
The part you just skipped I need to see
