My bet? Have the "World" of smash be taken over by darkness introduce characters one at a time or in a group like with final fantasy.
While sora is in limbo he gets transported to the smash world, there
EZ, that's what happened to Sora after Re:Mind and before whatever is next.
There's something almost poetic about the final character for the biggest crossover fighting game being from a series founded on grand, implausible crossovers.
I see Nintendo x Disney crossover.
and the fact that he shares his name with the company behind smash ultimate just feels right

@@getpape4126 I just think it's really cool how it comes full circle to the inkling trailer, I loved seeing all the characters animated, and it was chilling seeing them all turn into trophies when the light goes out. The trailer was done really well, and the reveal of Sora was amazingly done with the music and effects. That's just my opinion though, you're perfectly entitled to think it was lame.
That last image with Sora shaking Mario’s hand in the center of all the other characters during the stream was magical
Especially with the instrumental rendition of Simple and Clean playing in the background. That song gives me chills every time I hear it normally, but with that image.....it's one of the greatest things I've ever seen.
I wonder if Sora's making some sort of deal with Mario regarding Disney Characters.
This is why I want a Smash movie or TV series. Just seeing these characters interact has so much novelty to it.

I only got on hype train from the leak, before that my expectations for Sora were at most a Mii costume

I have to say I love how the final trailer brought us back to where it all began with the smash logo in the Inkling’s eye, this presentation was more satisfying than hype for me, I don’t know any other way to describe it

I'm not a fan of KH but I'm happy they got him in for all the fans and I can only imagine it was a licencing nightmare to get it sorted. If he was the top fan choice, then kudos for actually getting it done.

I think Waluigi would have been hilarious and I'd have loved it, but this is a good choice too.

Jokes aside. Dang. It's surreal seeing the Disney Trademark in this game. I remember when we thought Cloud was crazy back then. I'm not a Kingdom Hearts fan, but this feels surreal.
But on the brighter side, Sora and Steve can now clash swords like true anime swordsmen.
And Sephiroth can bring this pear to Sora once again as well... xD

I like the fact that the final DLC character’s name was infront of us the entire time.
I remember last year when they released Sephiroth into the game as a challenge fight and thinking to myself that it reminded me of the time you fought Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 2. Even in Kingdom Hearts.

I love Smash bros. I love Sakurai and all of the hard work he’s done. I love the now complete roster, and everyone in it. As far as I’m concerned it is perfect. But Pokémon has been doing perfect a lot longer than Smash. In my 21 years, Pokémon Company has made no bad business decisions. Nor will it. For every weakass jab you scumbags make about Pokémon, they’re making money. More money than this fuzzy blue twit will see in 50 of his lives! They’ll be successful with or without you.

Plot twist: Waluigi's anger at this event was so potent that it was enough to awaken the darkness inside him and he becomes the villain in KH4

After Kingdom Hearts first launched, there was an image of a hoax article about a game called "Mushroom Kingdom Hearts" that crosses over with Nintendo. It included artwork of Mario standing alongside Sora and Mickey. The picture of Mario was actually from the cover of Super Mario Sunshine, but it had been modified to give him a Kingdom Hearts-style outfit similar to Sora and Mickey's, and he was holding a Keyblade. I don't know if this calls back to that, or if they just thought it'd be fitting anyway.

End of an incredible journey. The roster is amazing, we got so much more than we deserve.
Sora is one of my favorite video game characters. His disposition is just...it's inspiring. He always find a way to look toward the light, and he NEVER gives up without a fight. He never gives in. He is self sacrificing to a fault. He's never going to break a promise he makes. He's not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. And with so few people like that in the real world....he brings hope that people can be like that. And it's great to see him come home, as the last final character for smash. The reveal felt more like a homecoming, a celebration than any other reveal has been before. And as a character who's impacted so many people....it's fitting. Also side note, he didn't try to fight anyone in the trailer. They kept to his character. I love that.

Sora is honestly a great character to end Smash Ultimate With. He's Someone from a Licensed game, while still being an original character.
Avoided a big one here. Can you believe some people wanted Jonesy from Fortnite? Sora makes the most sense since he's a Japanese-developed character, has appeared on Nintendo systems already, and originated in video games. Crash, Master Chief, and many of the other hopefuls didn't have a claim to all 3 of those conditions. Well done, Mr. Sakurai!
I don't see why the last fighter being Japanese developed was important. 95+% of the characters on the roster were created in Japan. If anything, a character created elsewhere would have been the way to close things out.
Steve wasn't a Japanese developed character, so I don't think we can use that as a criteria for joining Smash. But I'm glad Sora is in Smash, he's the one character I wanted since the Ultimate reveal.

@@ltb1345 maybe originally but nintendo has recognized that they need characters from all over. Terry for example had no recognition in japan or most of the US but was still added
@@AdventOtaku Rare is also not a Japanese company so Banjo getting in is also a point to be made here. Most of the DKC stuff was created by Rare so in a way they helped design those characters even if they are rooted in the Donkey Kong IP. So a Japanese IP had characters created outside of Japan.
He began stealing our hearts with Joker and now he gives his heart to us with Sora! A full circle was closed!

I loved seeing the speculation for new characters.
I don't think Master Chief ever had a chance, because he was never on a Nintendo console. Even Cloud was in a handheld Kingdom Hearts game or two and Joker was in Persona Q2 on the 3ds.

I've probably watched that reveal like 20 times. I just can't get over it. The introduction, the music, just everything about it makes me so happy.
And as..."bad" as the games may be (especially story wise), nobody can deny the fond memories you had playing them as kids.
First time I ever saw Kingdom Hearts was at a friends sleep over in middle school. I was completely enamored with it. But I didn't own a PS2 that long ago so never got to play it till the HD versions came out on PS3.
Not having simple and clean in the games soundtrack feels really weird also Sora being alone without Donald and goofy I thought for sure they'd be in the final smash...I doubt Disney would let that happen though

They got our boy in Smash! The legal nightmare behind the scenes with Disney and Square were something Sakurai and team could have avoided, but they went the extra mile for the fans. Thank you guys!

The reveal was great, but the way Arlo presented it just felt weird. He just made a video about being better about spoilers, and then the first thing I see when I get on RUclips is "Sora in Smash..." from Arlo.
The argument that you should watch Nintendo's Direct first is weak because if this is literally the first thumbnail you see, there's just slightly less magic to the reveal.

This was such a bittersweet stream. So happy that Sora was finally added to the game but also so sad that this is the end of this extraordinary era, no more Smash Ultimate DLC & no more awesome Smash Ultimate presentations from Mr Sakurai. I would've loved to have seen Leon Kennedy & non-mii real Dante in Smash Ultimate but Sora as the last Smash Ultimate fighter is a hellava way to close this saga. At least Doomslayer got a little bit of love from Sakurai. Thank God no master chief at all, the one character I did not want to see added to Smash was thankfully nowhere in sight.
I can't believe that somehow someway they were able to work something out with Disney to get Sora into the game. That was the one big roadblock that Sakurai & Nintendo had to overcome was to work out a deal with Disney to finally make this happen because Sora is as much a Disney character as he is a Square-Enix character. When Mario's fireball turned into Sora's Keyblade, I went nuts. When that music played, I started to cry tears of joy. When it said Sora Is Finally Here, I echoed that very sentiment. FINALLY INDEED!!! What a way to end this epic journey. This was like the video game equivalent to Avengers: Endgame.
Thank you so much Nintendo. Thank you so much Disney. Thank you so much Square-Enix. Most of all thank you so very very much Mr Sakurai, not just for Sora but for this entire game & all the memories period. Thank You.
