    Today I have a go at the legends only boulders, which are climbs set for some of the world's best climbers. These climbers have a full session to work on these climbs before they actually compete, so the level is much higher than that of the average world cup final boulder.

      Frictitious won't respond to my messages on Instagram or my emails integrated with their website as I am trying to inquire how to set up the pulley I bought from them (alongside the hangboard and mount I bought as well). I've paid them several hundred dollars and their customer support is non-existent. To anyone considering buying from them be weary.

    Love the vid, i'm enjoying seeing you struggle on these so much, since i know how good you are at projecting and i know your prefered style. It is ludacris how hard 8C actually is, i'm "not far" from 8a (working moves up to 7c atm) which is my lifetime goal, but what the heck is going on here. Nothing is down to a "trick" it's just, for a set of distinct styles, the hardest elements the routesetters thought is possible in the format. And that level is astonishingly high, it seems noticably higher than 5-6 years ago.

    This is the most psyched for climbing I've ever gotten from a video! It was so much fun watching the amazing competition and then realizing just how incredibly talented the competitors are by comparison to Emil, who's also an insanely strong climber. I would love to see some of the competitors' training process for the different boulders, especially considering how hard they are. I think it would be really interesting to compare the different approaches each climber took when projecting these boulders for the comp.

Seeing you as a V15 climber struggle on literally every single boulder must have made you feel like a mere mortal compared to some of those athletes.

  • @Dylmania09
    @Dylmania09 5 месяцев назад +2

    Correct me if I’m wrong, but 11:39 I believe is illegal cause you are using an extension of the wall’s (volume) bolt hole. You can use hold bolt holes, but I don’t think it’s allowed to use the walls bolt holes according to IFSC. The IFSC official rule book of 2022 states on page 7, “Illegal Aid with the hands: any placements for "T-Nuts" on the Climbing Surface or any Structure;” which essentially says no using bolt holes on the climbing wall, and since volumes are considered an extension of the climbing wall, I believe that move would be deemed illegal

    • @EmilAbrahamsson
      @EmilAbrahamsson  5 месяцев назад +4

      In IFSC comps it's actually just the bolt-holes they refer to, not the screw holes (that I'm using here)! So attachment points for boxes and volume holds are still fair play (for now) at comps

    • @Dylmania09
      @Dylmania09 5 месяцев назад

      @@EmilAbrahamssonahhh very tricky Emil, that def seems like a loophole that would probably get patched if competitors started often using screw holds claiming they aren’t T-Nuts / Bolt Holes lol

    • @EmilAbrahamsson
      @EmilAbrahamsson  5 месяцев назад +4

      @@Dylmania09 oh it does happen all the time, so the setters either fill in screw holes or set in a way that using them is impossible

    • @TheMagmaNinja
      @TheMagmaNinja 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Dylmania09 that's always been a thing, and is purposely intended by the rules so I highly doubt it would change. It's very well-known to all the athletes, setters, and judges, that it's only t-nuts that aren't allowed for hands. One of the main reasons is safety, if you got your finger in one of the bolt holes on a structure it'd be very easy to rip up your finger badly on the threading inside if you did a hard move or fell on it. Screw holes don't have that problem.

    • @LePetitBat

      No, I think that the official thing is that you need to "use" the zone hold. Holding it with one hand is not enough, you have to engage new movement (like upgrading body position, moving feet, initiating a match etc.)
      So it needs to be caught and "used" in a quite weak sense

    With the first blue boulder, why don't people acknowledge that the holds have gotten worse as they've been used more and it's probably harder than when it was first set? Given enough chalk and grime, those slopers could eventually become impossible to use. Always annoyed me when gyms set these condition dependent routes that are totally worthless after a month.
