    An aggressive looking machine, and I like the brown and olive-drab colour scheme.
    I lost interest in collecting Joes in about '92, when they started to use seemingly random, fluorescent colours on the figures and vehicles.
    The Mean Dog reminds me of my favourite vehicle I owned as a kid, "The Maggot".
    A big-ass gun and three combining modules.
    I'm so tempted to start my collection over again!

      drew gardner do it! You can cherry pick the stuff you dug most. But believe me, it's a slippery slope! You keep finding excuses to hunt for more toys. Come to think of it, GI Joburg needs a Maggot...

    This is the vehicle really got me into GI Joe collecting; I am young and have been a big fan of Mattel's recent toys of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, and I always liked GI Joe but never had the motivation to collect anything from them until Mattel's new toyline came out. U see, Mattel's toyline is in the same exact scale as GI Joes both modern and vintage. So I decided to buy some joes and use thema s extras in my photographs, but then I grew more curious so I dived into the cartoons, comics, and the movies and I was astonished with the franchsie. It's full of unique characters and the unusual and exotic designs of the vehicles made me want to collect. To begin my GI Joe collection, I wanted to get a medium or large vintage vehicle with a unique design and not too expensive on the after market. That is when I found the Mean Dog! Its such an awesome vehicle that I can see being used in real life, so I'm now planning on saving money amd buying one fully complete. I just subscribed to the channela nd I cant wait to get involved with the GI Joe comminity! Yo Joe!

      Welcome to the party Soundwave! Yep, it's not rocket science to say that Joe should be essential to every toy enthusiast - particularly if you like the scale. There's an appeal to these toys that is evergreen. I wish you the very best of fun with these awesome figures and vehicles and accessories and playsets! And and and and...

    One of the few Joe vehicles with no engine to speak of, lol! Good review, love the outside fire, you are braver than I am, plastic and fire are a bad combination.
    I can see two friends having some awesome fun with this, then the little brother comes outside..."mom said you have to let me play too." "Ok, here, you get to be the canon, and...Zap (he has straight arms and is missing a thumb so he is rarely played with anyway."
    Little brother appeased!

      Haha, something pulled from your own childhood perhaps? Here, play with Zap! 😂
      And yeah, there was a roadside fire I pulled up at late last night. I reckon the fire was the least dangerous factor there (hi ways. Johannesburg. Late at night...)
      It wasn’t my personal Mean Dog anyway! 😝

      Cheers! Agreed, to the more practical child, that front area housed the engine I reckon. It just occurred to me how one could scratch-build an engine in there! Baddass. I hope some capable customiser does a number on this vehicle. The potential is there!

    I’m late to the party, but…
    It seems like, as nonsensical as this era was for realism for the Joes, the deployment function is a bit of a high point for me.
    As with the Battle Force 2000 vehicles, and in conjunction with them, you had a lot of vehicles for the Joes that had fortification abilities. If you had a convoy of the Battle Force, a Raider, a Mobile Battle Bunker, and a Mean Dog (Ok, yeah, that’s ten vehicles, including the Pulverizer) you’d have a pretty formidable and fully mobile base, and a fleet of vehicles to boot.

    • @gijoburg
      @gijoburg  Год назад

      So true! Vehicles like the Mean Dog and BF2K fleet eliminated the need for the small battle stations. Who needs a LAW when you’ve got a vehicle that deploys an artillery emplacement? Thanks for joining the party!

    • @barryevans9486
      @barryevans9486 Год назад

      @@gijoburg I feel like the older battle stations are good for supplements. They’re like the day to day part of Joe life.
      I haven’t got much to go on aside from thirty plus year old memories, but I don’t feel like Cobra had a lot of deployment-centered vehicles aside from the Maggot, at least not as far as emplacements. Cobra got a lot of mini-vehicle deploying vehicles, like the Mamba, the BUGG and the Hammerhead, but I feel like the counterpart to Battle Force (which, by the way, doesn’t deserve the haters in my mind) is the Iron Grenadiers, because they, as far as I’m aware, were apparently supposed to be the next generation of Joe toys, and Destro’s guys got some rather WTF (but admittedly still cool) vehicles…

      @gijoburg  7 лет назад

      It does indeed! The double jointed knees are gonna come in handy for the internal seating, but you should be able to get the hatch closed. Roadblock and other heavies might present a bit of a challenge. But at least the seats don't make use of backplugs or other deal breakers.
