The drifting scenes from that old Grip video are engrained in my mind and probably in thousands of others as well. Thick black stripes for hundreds of meters, I'd never seen anything like it when I first watched that video.

They were the ones who provided the rims and tires cause the car itself wasn’t a press car or anything like that, this car was back then owned by a very nice guy and he was asked if he would provide the car to Grip for filming purposes. impressive car, but 1/4 of a tank per lap (aprox. 17L ) is also impressive. Never the less the way it stood up to misha driving is what impress me the most ! 😊
I'm not a big bmw fan anymore i feel like they have lost the motorsport focus they used to have but it is refreshing seeing a beautiful and well setup car like this. Imagine how crazy it would be with cup 2 r tires.
Misha, when we talk consumables I often think of tyres and brakes, but how much of a difference is fuel consumption compared to a light weight, low power car, or a race car? This thing looks like it just consumed 1/4 - 1/3 of a tank in 1 lap!!!
Did it also have the upgrade turbos? Because 7+sec 100-200 is not 820hp. My stage 1 F90 M5 does it in 6 sec on stage 2 tune with stock DP's but with only me in it and has "only" 720hp...

I agree to some extent, but Doug's scores always felt kinda arbitrary and inconsistent. Summarizing the entire subjective feel of a car with a couple numbers doesn't account for enough nuance.
the car did so well, love it, thought it might float around a bit more but it seemed very planted to the road, at 1000hp I'm sure you will upgrade brakes and suspension, Misha you did an amazing job on this lap dealing with the traffic!
It's quck but it does not seem to accelerate like a 800 plus HP M8/M5 should. The speedo should be jumping in nearly 10km/h increments from lower speeds like 80 km/h at that power level. Ive had seat time in a 800 plus horse M5 and it was a lot more savage than what is being demonstrated by this car!

Especially AWD. I am used to seeing Audi AWD plowing into corners. Did not realize how serious the M8 is. Really impressive car.

F1 fighter indicated 2000km at that point.

Heavy high horsepower car will of course consume more. That's why I included the fuel gauge to show how crazy it is. Puts also things into perspective
