He’s so underrated. I’ve been obsessed with him since I was 12 because, well, look at him, but I’m married to a bass player now and my daughter plays bass. Now I truly appreciate what a killer bass player he is. He’s so good and didn’t even pick up an instrument until he was 16, and was making albums 5 years later.
Monster. I fell in love with this in 82 at age 14. Always thought he was an amazing bass player and the band awesome. I was also huge into The Cure, Stones, Zeppelin, Marley and The Beatles.
Me also, there so funmy and good sence of humour there so innocent and young here. love Simon he's gorgous and still is 40 years later, so talented bunch of lads and very underatted celabrating 40+years. They proved everyone wrong i knew they had something special they were more than abunch of good looking men in frilly shirts and makeup whos having the last laugh.
another 76'er here.. this band stands the test of time..brilliant songs, brilliant musicianship style and swagger; mysterious cool and funky--what more do you need. absolute magical band--deep love and inspiration from Duran
"Overall, Duran Duran is my FAVORITE BAND! Since I was in Elementary School, this Band has been nothing but inspirational to me (I was born in 1976). I understand that DD has a huge female fanbase (which is understandable since these fab five were part of the Video Age), but I am male and think that is fine too. I am not going to lie, I wish I was John Taylor because I would enjoy the "Female Attention" and have a feeling what it would be like to be extremely good looking (I am totally straight, but envy men who are more aesthetic than I am).
Born in 1982 myself and a straight guy as well :-). I'm also a bass player and I've listened thorugh various DD songs by now and tried to tab his basslines. MAN, they are very intricate and funky and cool. Most of his sound comes from the specific bass used in the first three or four albums, the Aria SB-1000, of which I am also the lucky owner now. So now I can also act the part :-). Waiting to see if the if the "female attention" follows suit as well ;-).
Cool!!! I want to go out and buy a bass and learn some funky riffs as well. Good luck with that. Always cool to meet other Duran Duran Fans because this Band has made a HUGE IMPACT on me, AND I MEAN HUGE!
Lori H I honestly wanted to date Roger Taylor. John was great looking as well. I always admired Simon's swagger and Nick's way with clothes and makeup :) I wish in some ways I could go back to 1984
You should read John's memoir In The Pleasure Groove. Like any hardcore Duranie I know all the stories of their beginnings, & a little about their families, but John is a self-professed nerd, & I'd never heard that anywhere. Of course, it's a book, so the person is going back & remembering things, & he went through a lot with the drugs & drinking, & came out on the other side better for it. He gained a lot of perspective. Basically, he's a nice guy that lost his way for a while. I love the Duran guys, & really respect them a lot as people & musicians.
Great music. Grew up with it as a kid surfing. Always thought the best album were the first. Thanks for the upload. Have all their Albums on Original vynl.
i was 13 years old when i got my Duran Duran LP...but I still love it, don´t hear it everyday.. .but when I hear it....I love it!! wish that were still nyce looking guys like them...millenium is not my kind , of course,...ahahahah:)
LMAO!!! This is the first song I learned to play my bass to....Very simple, but that was 100 years ago!! This is sooo nostalgic. I have to sign off......This one really did it. It's too damn early in the morning to be tripping like this. Especially a Sunday Morning!! (Le Sigh)
Ma solo con Destro c'ero andata giù pesante di non leggere quasi nulla, solo i Bignami ed altre cinquanta pagine qua e là... Ma negli altri avevo studiato di più.
I've been a fan of Duran Duran for many, many years and I love this song; but, this is the worst lip-syncing I have ever seen. Simon did a terrible job here.
Im sure if Simon was too look back at this recording he would have agood laugh, not there best but still agreat song remember it the first time around gorgeous Simon fell in love with him first time I was saw him♥️
I’m 57 still listening to Duran Duran everyday
I’m 54 and didn’t until now realise what an absolute monster bassist John Taylor is.
...and the guitarist Andy Taylor!

Wow they said they loved Roxy Music but this video proves it. Simon looks like he copied Bryan Ferry’s outfit to a tee. Except missing the eyepatch.
Ez nagyon jóóó
