    The Solovair shout out when they construct a better quality boot than Doc Martens is deserved. Solovair has a clear better construction with leather and even has a shank when Doc Martens is selling a yellow pull tab and yellow stitching. Thank you Harry for educating us ☺️

    • @passionateintrovert
      @passionateintrovert Месяц назад +1

      I can’t speak to Solovair but I’ve owned a pair of Docs for close to 8 years and they still look and feel great. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @BorgJones
      @BorgJones Месяц назад

      @passionateintrovert I don't doubt that. But objectively Docs have dropped off in quality over the years due to the popularity and demand and are a far cry from the construction of what Docs used to be. Solovair is doing what Docs used to do but better by having a shank to hold form better and not skimping on leather quality due to demand. Doc Martens is doing the Nike thing where the price goes up but quality is diminishing with the price change because of stockholders/profits

    • @passionateintrovert
      @passionateintrovert Месяц назад +1

      @@BorgJonesthat’s fair and I understand why people would want to go with Solovair over Docs. Just wanted to share my firsthand experience. I’ve been tempted to pick up something from Solovair at some point, as well.

    When it comes to MOC toe boots, I’d highly recommend the Danner bull run. I use to have a pair of red wing MOC toes and I ended up selling them, because I hated them so much. Then I tried the Danner version and they’re so much better. They fit true to size, nice leather, great construction, made in America, Goodyear welt, and are less expensive than Redwing.

In Milan there is their flagship store… very cool models, prices are high but… you pay for their quality! Sometimes some famous brands cost more and their product are super cheap. Buttero is not so famous… so, believe me, you paid for the right value.

    Excellent vlog, Kemo Sabe.
    Now remembering the “Hikers” from the early 1980s, when I was in the 7th, and 8th grades, also known as middle school. The “Hikers” were the kids who wore Alpine style Hiking Boots, tight jeans and rock t-shirts. The also had lone hair. The girls wore black eyeliner. The Hikers, weren’t like the “Stoners of America,” who wore naturally torn jeans and washed out Levi’s denim jackets. The “cholos,” didn’t wear boots at all. They wore patent leather Stacey Adams “Taplitas,” with their military pressed white dress shirts, tucked into immaculately creased Dickies brand Khaki trousers, with black suspenders. I dressed in the style of the Ramones, which evolved in the 8th grade to skinny ties, Sperry Brown TopSiders, tucked into jeans. I wanted to be like the members of Cheap Trick and cool Rick Springfield
    Today, I own two pairs, two styles, of Alden Indy boots. I own real combat boots because I served in the Marines for 22+ years. Black full leather, black jungle boots, and suede boots.

    Again a great video👍. One importand messege you forgot to spread: NEVER EVER buy a pair of boots from a brand not known for their boots. I am especially looking at you, Nike😊

    I definitely understand liking the cap toe detail on the steel toes but having a steel toe in your boot in the winter probably won't be your friend. Plus the "added protection" is pretty unnecessary, I don't think I've ever hurt my toes in boots unless you need the protection for work.
    But great video regardless of any of the above!

    Those Ground Cover boots are 50% off rn and still seem a bit overpriced. $240, originally $480 for a cemented boot? Is pineapple leather that expensive???

    Red wing moc toes aren’t necessary a good option when it comes to casual wear, I’m a blue collar worker they took 3 months to break in, 10 hour shifts, never going to get them again

    The Ground Cover boots aren’t that durable. The ones you showed are the pineapple leather boots. They did release another boot that’s more durable but it has a different look.

    • @HarryHas
      @HarryHas  Месяц назад

      Have you tried them? Vegan boots are never going to be as durable as leather but if you can’t wear leather then you don’t have a choice. The Viron boots I have are Apple leather but they have held up great. They aren’t as durable as my Solovairs but definitely a great option for people who don’t want to wear animal leather

    • @martro_
      @martro_ Месяц назад

      @ Yeah the first ones they made are pineapple leather but the newer ones they switched to cactus leather which I found a lot more durable for a vegan leather.

      Had both my derbies and monkey boots from Vegetarian Shoes (both made in partnership with Solovair), for 10 and 6 years respectively, both in heavy rotation. Still both in perfect condition and i still wear them multiple times a week.
