GTX = total crap. I cannot wear anything with GTX, after walking for 30 minutes i sweat , does not allow air to pass through. I don't care it keeps the water out since i make my own water inside the shoes. I never buy GTX anymore, nothing with GTX is made for walking more than 2 miles . I have La Sportiva Raptor 2 Mid GTX, pretty expensive, all i use if for is to go to the shop and back if it rains. I cannot walk more than that, i tried. I sweat inside the shoe and it is bad for the feet. If it's cold outside i start to feel cold , if it's summer or even spring, not even very hot, the shoes become very hot . Special perfect recipe for fungus and blisters. And all GTX shoes cover the whole of the inside of the shoe in GTX for some reason, mate, let the air pass through ! i really do not need boots that are waterproof all the way to the top, these are boots for walking on trails or roads not for swimming.
