Being an ex car mechanic, I'm astounded that so many bikes need to be virtually dismantled just to do routine maintenance. My wife has a cb125r, and I had to almost strip it just to get to the battery. I had panels screws and clips everywhere.
Nick, A massive thank you from me for a very detailed video on how to get to the air filter on the NC. I had my tablet next to my wife's NC and it was a life saver. As always thanks for all your time and effort in putting these videos together for the benefit of others. Cheers David
@@nicksepisode A thief broke my frunk's lock and when I turn it to open the frunk nothing happens. How do I get into the frunk to take off all those parts to replace the lock? Break it open?

Great reference material, produced to a very high standard. I have the K&N waiting to go in, but have been putting this job off. Will give it a go with your assist. Thanks!
Another great video on the Honda NC750X, just bought one myself so your filming and instructions show me how Honda had put the filter in the most difficult place, just managed to change it with your help.
Fascinating even though I don't own a NC750. Probably a bit out my comfort zone doing this but I guess I could do it after watching your vid. Its what I love about RUclips, you can find out how to do most things watching vids.
Cheers Richard, this was the first time me using the insta360. It's an amazing camera which I find it's more editing but I like that you can pick your camera angles after. I really enjoy the editing part so it's all good and I'm still learning. The camera recorded for over an hour in 360 5k and I still had battery left, and guess what, no over heating! I am fully converted now! I'm going to record an on the road vlog today with a pov angle. I have the mic adapter with a 150 degree view set. Do you turn hdr on? Cheers
@@nicksepisode I'm glad the camera worked so well for you. Not overheating and long battery life is my biggest reason for buying. My only advice when filming in 150 is make sure none of your camera mounts sit forward of the recording lens or the stabilisation will sometimes bring it into shot. Also double check which lens you've set for record (yes I've recorded my face) and make sure you've set landcape format. It's worth doing a short test to establish the tilt angle of your camera in 150, I initially set mine looking too low. As for hdr, honestly I've not checked but I use mainly stock settings. On overcast days I do find myself taking the brightness up and I definitely take the audio up in post when compared to the Gopro
Hi Nick , another great video , I've been waiting for you to show " us " how to do it !! I'd already bought the k + n , so will now have to get on and fit it ! many thanks , Derek
Thanks for making the video. Excellent video, editing, and image capture. If only Honda's engineers could have made changing the air filter a little more difficult it would be a DIYer's dream job (this sentence is sarcasm).
I tried replacing the air filter with a oem one and was stood there for a good few mins, fiddling trying to get the filter to fit into the lower air case convinced I had been sent the wrong filter before realizing you put it into the top case lol.
The amount of things to dismantle just to get to a filter. I would have started the bike after fitting the sensor, just to make sure that the bike starts and function well before fitting all the panels again.
Nick, This is a great video. Very nicely done. You know what's amazing here? The fact that I just acquired a 2020 NC750X DCT about two weeks ago and being that I live in the U.S.A., it's an ALL-BLACK UNIT! After doing some research, I have found that there are or were, multiple colors of the 2020 model of the NC. The Canadian versions are WHITE. Yours is apparently an English or maybe I should say British unit and it's BLUE. And what's really crazy here, I just disassembled mine to remove all the BLACK painted parts and have painted them the same exact color as yours, BLUE! Anyway, I'm definitely logging this video in the memory banks to reference when it comes time to change my air filter. It should be quite a while since there's only 2,300 miles on it at present. There sure are a lot of fasteners, both screw type and push-pin type that hold all the body plastic parts on. Your video will definitely aid when it comes time to reassemble mine after paint. Thanks so much for this. SR
High flow filters will leave a fine coating of dust in your intake, thottle body, intake valve seats.and will sand down piston rings and cylinders. The stock filter has plenty of flow but needs more air in the box.removing the rubber snokle tube helps a lot.
Hate to say it, but that is such a poor design by Honda making it so difficult to change an air filter. Thank you for putting this video together. I might still let the dealer do this for me as it never seems to be as easy as even your great video makes it seem.
Just finished doing this today, when putting in the air sensor it was just flopping around. Took the lid off for the air filter and out rolls a rubber grommet, ah there's the problem. Great video
I was thinking of getting this bike but just to change the air filter I need to dismantle half the bike, NO mate, not my style. I need easy access to at least basic stuff.
Fantastic tutorial Nick although you have to ask yourself why Honda make it such a PIA to replace an air filter, is it so they get more business off owners who don't want to take this task on I wonder ?
I think a small sacrifice has been made in order to make all that storage available for the frunk compartment. Don't think honda are on thay band wagon yet, unlike bmw lol
good video, i was able to pull off and remount the fairings cuz of this. I noticed on my honda nc750x that there is a gap where you rub at 11:24 . I see that where you rub at 11:24 that there is no gap between the 2 panels and it connects smooth to eachother. you might have an idea as to why those 2 panels dont fit smoothly together ? Luckily the tappet adjustments are very easy and better than most bikes. Air filter is OK once you've done it once. Something that only need doing twice a year on average so all in all worth the frunk storage
I can see where you are coming from because Honda spend millions into developing these engines, but the K&N filters are proven to perform better, its counter intuitive for Honda to use these as they are more expensive to produce. High flow filters will leave a fine coating of dust in your intake, thottle body, intake valve seats.and will sand down piston rings and cylinders. The stock filter has plenty of flow but needs more air in the box.removing the rubber snokle tube helps a lot.
Adding oil to the filter stops this dust, removing the snorkel will do more harm allowing water to enter the filter box.
How often do you have to change out the air filter?
Depending on where you ride and live, it will vary. Dusty conditions , I'd say, 7-8k miles. Normal conditions 12k miles.
