      Latinos, pinoys, white España and Spanish Europeans, Canary Islands, people from South Florida, some people in SoCal and close to the border, some North African countries, the Caribbean countries and island nations....some Polynesian cultures as well.
      Nochebuena has spread and evolved. I brought the traditions to my white Irish/Greek in-laws in Utah and ever since we did it the first year I lived here that's the only way we do it.

    • @mpalafoxj
      @mpalafoxj 5 лет назад

      Well it depends what part of Mexico you from. If your taking about the holidays on Mexico in the North part of Mexico we celebrate Christmas most call it niño Dios and not Santa Claus but some States in the middle of Mexico celebrate Christmas and say Santa Claus is coming. Now in southern mexico you guy's don't celebrate Christmas 24 or 25 because you guy's celebrate Los Reyes Magos until January's 6th were you put a shoe out so you can get a gift. Every different State in Mexico also has there different holiday traditions and different foods they make during this holidays!!

    • @allthatshines1008
      @allthatshines1008 5 лет назад +2

      @@mpalafoxj It's interesting to know the different ways the same country celebrates the holidays! However, I'm dominican lol. We celebrate los reyes magos but there are definitely many families that are being influenced by US culture(because of the significant amount of dominican immigrants in the states who spend the holidays there or send family gifts) and so they do Christmas. That's still a minority of the country though.

We used to stay awake all night and then sleep, and party all over again with bachatas, merengue, dembow and all that. I'm Puerto Rican and we do something similar. We do celebrate the night of Christmas Eve but at my Gramma's house every year and open presents at midnight but the food is AMAZING! We have Lechón, Coquito, Pasteles, chicken gizzards with plantanos and olives (forgot what it's called), arros con guandules.... it's a FEAST there! And there is a LOT of family and there's a LOOOOT of gifts because of how big my family is. We sing karaoke, dance, talk and get consume alcohol. I say "consume" because my mom made bourbon balls and plus we have beer and coquito.
    For some odd reason, it's a tradition for my tio Omar to buy everyone clothes from Boscovs.... also we are LOOOOOUD during Christmas and most of us have a buzz. My mom pranked me with buying 6 bottles of ketchup for a gift in which I cracked up laughing BUT I got back at her by making her open HER gag gift which was a pimple popping game to get back at her for all the times she popped me and my brothers' faces all the time.
    I love celebrating Christmas the Puerto Rican way and I wouldn't celebrate it any other way. 😄❤🎄

    I'm Venezuelan and yeah our big party is on the 24th and at midnight the kids would run to the tree to open the presents. It's perfect because they're distracted by the party while one adult goes and puts all the presents under the tree, then runs out and says OMG SANTA WAS HERE. ITS MIDNIGHT. LOL Instant chaos.

    I posted this as a reply but here's some fun nochebuena trivia:
    Latinos, pinoys, white España and Spanish Europeans, Canary Islands, people from South Florida, some people in SoCal and close to the border, some North African countries, the Caribbean countries and island nations....some Polynesian cultures as well. Not just what we know as Latin America.
    Nochebuena has really blossomed and become a part of so many cultures and lifestyles.
    Every culture that celebrates nochebuena puts their own twist to it and there's always a central dish or delicacy that is the centerpiece of the nochebuena meal. Varies from place to place. It's all about partying, opening presents at midnight, and then everyone just sleeps and chills on Christmas day while eating leftovers.

    In Germany we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve (24th) as well. Usually have a nice family dinner and then open presents. The 25th is just for relaxing and eating left-overs, lol
