  • This shows my first ever double black diamond snowboard run. With all the warm weather we've been seeing on the East Coast this year, it has been difficult to find resorts with any difficult terrain open at all. Luckily in PA there have been several snow resorts that have opened up some more difficult terrain.
In this video I am riding at Roundtop Mountain, PA and I come across this DOUBLE BLACK DIAMOND run. I have ridden many regular black diamond runs, but never a double black diamond, so I thought it would push my abilities quite a lot.
I look at myself as an intermediate snowboarder, who still has a lot to learn, so if you have any advice or tips for me to improve or try let me know in the comments below!!!

Ya we went to Whitetail earlier in January and they only had 1 blue & 3 greens open.. since then it looks they haven’t been able to open much with the weather like it is 🤷‍♂️

Great job for first attempt at a double black! RT is my home mountain, heading up in about an hour actually lol. Upper Ramrod is usually has a lot more ice spots in it when it gets skii'd off after the morning riders get through there. looks like you had awesome conditions!

Thanks! I honestly think I was way too cautious 😅, so next time I plan to actually ride it. The conditions weren’t horrible, there as definitely an icy layer but it was getting covered by active snow fall. It made for fun conditions overall 👍

Exactly! It was tough and not pretty, but it improved my riding regardless

Gunbarrel next on the list. That mf can actually be pretty damn steep at the top headwall when they have enough snow. I feel like gunbarrel has to be one of the steepest runs in Pennsylvania. I could be wrong bc i havent been skiing pa much recent yrs and been skiing vermont only for a while.

I thought it was steep, but it was my first double black diamond attempt at the time do I didn’t have much to compare it to..
What are your favorite places to ride in Vermont?

@@AdventureLife365 jay peak is my favorite. I did live there for a bit also did work at the resort in 2019-2021. It's the snowiest resort and has backcountry on the east coast. 5 years ago we got 525 inches for the season record. Killington is fun but more expensive, I like magic mtn, Sugarbush, mad river Glen but skiing only there.

@petechilimindris9900 yes, I love Jay Peak!! I need to make more trips up there to check out those other places too though. I’ve heard good things about killington, but it seems so expensive
