    I hope Belichick stays at UNC. Having him teach football fundamentals (as well as football history) to a new generations of players every year is a good thing for the development of the sport. He has always been a fantastic teacher, and so him doing what he does best without the crazy pressure of the NFL seems like a great environment for a guy his age.

      This is exactly the type of positive influence that most of us expected from Tom Brady being included in the ownership group. He is clearly involved in the high-level decision making.
      This is also the perfect example of why Tom Brady should not be announcing games in NFL broadcasts, because he is clearly more involved in high-level decision making in that ownership group. Clear conflicts of interest.

Including the interest and loan i figure Brady owes the bank about $480 million for that 5% purchase of the Raiders he has. There is no way in Hell he is quitting his 10 year guaranteed job at FOX. He drafted a good portion of that playoff team didn't he? He took some crap for drafting Herbert who many thought didn't have the emotional capacity to succeed and lacked in leadership skills, he wasn't a consensus popular pick amongst the experts, he also was in on the Phillip rivers deal, and I believe he was with Indy in the Andrew Luck acquisition,he also drafted brilliantly for the Raiders last year, I understand why he was sent packing there's only one leader in the pack but im not selling him short, he was more than competent and shouldn't ha e trouble landing another job rather quickly

    • @thecafezil
      @thecafezil 14 дней назад

      @ I used the term, underperformed, which is not the same by any stretch as saying he was a complete disaster. As you correctly observe, Telesco has had his moments for the Chargers, especially at the top of the draft where he selected players such as Herbert, Bosa, James, Williams and Slater. On the other hand, he drafted some first round duds too, such as Fluker, Verrett, Tillery and Murray, a guy he traded up to get. He had three failed coaching hires, although working under a cheap owner may have contributed to that. Most of all, under Telesco’s reign, and with either Rivers or Herbert at QB (both potential Hall of Famers), the Chargers made three playoff appearances in 11 years. As a Chargers fan, if that’s what Telesco could achieve with a division rival, the Raiders, I’d take it. Davis and Brady, to their credit, weren’t willing to endure that.

    I always felt like his hiring was more of a stop-gap move. Shame, as I have always liked him. Also, he had this whole year to prove what he could do and as others have already noted he went 0-6 in the hardest division in football where the 3 other teams literally have HOF coaches leading them. Average or less than that simply will not cut it. Unless you want to keep losing of course.
