In 1943, somewhere in the Pacific, Fishyyy, DarkenedFantasies, Crabby and Marcom engage a japanese convoy in their B-17Fs. The convoy is protected by a Myoko class heavy cruiser, a Kagero class destroyer and an Akizuki class destroyer, but that does not stop us!

True. And Il2 battle of Stalingrad isn’t even that good in the first place.
Bombers against ships is basically the same as fighters against bombers, just on a different order of magnitude.
Skip bombing in heavy bombers looks so awesome, but boy oh boy do you take a lot of AAA trying to press home those attacks.
Especially up against Akizuki-class AA destroyer.
So beautiful & rewarding to watch...

Would have been cooler with FW 200 Condors, there are some cool ordnance mods that let you get period-accurate glide-bombs and rocket-assisted bombs to attack ships with. Keep up the cool videos Fishyyy B)

Could a B-17 with its tail shot off be able to stabilize a little by opening the bomb bay doors, using those as two small tail surfaces?

Vorallem dein Antialiasing ist ziemlich gut. Hab in den Nvidia Einstellung alles hoch geballert, aber funktioniert leider nicht so gut.. zumindest sieht es bei dir deutschlich besser aus

One plane for two cargo ships is probably a good trade, for everybody except the crews of the planes.

Yes, bombers are honestly superior to any other aircraft besides heavy fighters. I basically like bigger aircraft lol.

heavy fighter master race, dogfighting in the Bf-110 in the new IL-2 game is my favorite
For this attack, why not attack the ships front to back rather than broadsides. Your window of opportunity is far bigger and if you overshoot you still have a chance to hit the boat. Also, you face less AAA front or back than from the broadside.

Nice video, but bombing by heavy B-17s from the low-altitude of ships is impossible. Only by medium or high altitude in the horizontal carpet raid. It's not the B-25 or the B-26, low attack bombers.
It happened in real life. Fair enough, not regularly or often, but it did. You need to get your facts straight, before you write something like that.
@@Fishyyy The few successes of the B-17s were the Bismarck Sea in 1943. They sank one AP from 1500m a.s.l. This year they were withdrawn from the Pacific finally.
They did skip bombing. At night. I researched it, before we did it. Just because of people like you.
