Hiking Icicle Gorge Nature Loop, Highway 2, Stevens Pass/ Leavenwoth

I hiked this trail for the first time on Saturday, June 8th. It's about 35 minutes from Leavenworth, with 12 miles on pavement and 3 miles on gravel. No high clearance vehicle is needed; any 2WD vehicle can reach the trailhead. On the gravel road, you'll see a sign near the trailhead directing you to turn left.
A Northwest Forest Pass is required. Facilities are open and on-site, and the trail is dog-friendly. The hike is 4.2 miles with a 150-foot elevation gain. Bugs were present but not a major nuisance. The trail is covered by a canopy about 70% of the way, which is great for warm summer days.
We turned left at the beginning of the loop, which worked well for us, but either direction is good. Along the hike, you'll enjoy the peaceful sound of the river, the sweet smell of caramelized pine needles, and colorful wildflowers.
