- Not something I'd usually upload here, but this is a sound design test I did in my free time to practice SFX

Not just that, but also the big metal impact sounds with the thud and oomph sounds heard on the chest, and the shoulder flaps. It makes him bombastic.

Love how it sounds like thousands of pieces hitting each other, with the classic sound at the end
This was really good, especially the G1 sound at the end. Only critique is that as a former film college student I picked up on one sound being used twice which kinda threw me off.
Yeah, I noticed that too late, and it bothers me, but it's fine because I'm not that deep into sound design yet
They use alot of G1 sound effect in Bayverse..

I feel like the bayformer films is some of the best movies to practice sound editing skills.
easily, and of all time. new one had such mediocre special effects and cinematography in comparison
As bad as the Michael Bay movies were, the Transformers always looked sick.

I sorta miss the times when you know what kind of vehicle they were going to transform into, only bumblebee kept that feature
Until he took the concept Camaro and suddenly he’s a stinger recolor, it’s hard to tell what car he was supposed to be unless you squint at his chest - glad TLK reverted his design
It also had the knockback effect of making the transformers look more generic imo. Having the car parts in their robot form is what helps Transformers stand out form other robots/mechs.

TLK ruined his design, AOE was peak and the slimming down of his face was probably the best thing they did along with the battle mask.

Whoever animated his model is amazing
Very good! My only suggestion is in future iterations, it would sound better if there were more mechanical locking impact sounds throughout the transformation. Emphasizing the completion of multiple points of transformation, making a meatier overall composition. This sounded kind of empty in that regard.
I just thought of this is my head and it can work
@@SpaceGT_07 right? Just heavy bass, metal impact locking, with slight but noticable variation in pitches and tone. Would make this perfect.
That's actually one of my complaints for RotB. Too many transformations didnt sound like metal pressing into each other and more like synthwaves, and when it did sound like the former, it was because of the Bayformers sound effects.
@@ZeroTraceOperative kinda like megatrons transformation sound in the first three films? It has the three distinct clunks that sound hefty. Or maybe even the dreads when ironhide has crashed into them so they're transforming in the air in slow motion and pieces sound like they're locking in
To be sure, a VFX test that you did turned out great, especially the last part where the classic transformation sound sounds

I like how heavy it sounds. Like when all his pieces click into place at the end that thud they all make sound as heavy as he looks

Random comment but I just love the sounds of metal pipes when the smoke stacks pass the camera. Small details that make it look more realistic is always appreciated
you have really transmitted a high-quality image with the help of sound, it's nice to hear
I think this is the best design for Optimus Prime. We can see him more clearly. Top notch finishing and glossy look just adds to the beauty. Its a shame we never saw the previous version of Megatron in this quality.

@silvestrejojono, this is a butchered shot with no attempt to hide it.
This is one of the most difficult things to direct and manage within the context of CGI for sure but once you see it it's just blatantly a 0 effort, "don't worry about it" type thing.
No one really cared by this movie and the special effects departments were no doubt overworked doing the insane shit required for this project, so it's self-explanatory as to why it happened. It's still a huge let down seeing that, they should do the simple thing of moving the camera around in a clever way, the way they were doing for years up until that point.
@jojoatlas428 I am pretty sure they didn't notice that error when making the movie . That cliping is easy enough to fix. No way they see it and let it slide. I actually hate when the camera moving around to hide the transformation, and sometimes too close. This is actually better in my opinion.

Never gets old. The movies are freaking tiresome and just too much, but these are still some of the coolest robots ever designed. Kudos to the artists, everyone from concept, to modeling, to animation, to sound design. What I liked about your sounds is the part with the exhaust pipes 0:06 as that's exactly how I imagine those chrome parts like the grill would sound.
Also the booming echo as chest settles by the end and the residual quieter sounds as there are presumably some minor transformations and adjustments going on inside of him, they're really nice details. Now the original transformation sounds like simple metal gavels banging a metal drum over and over. Just bang bang bang you know?

I'm actually not a big fan of the OG transformation sound in the end, not because it doesn't slap, but because it's just not realistic at all and doesn't mix with the other mechanical sounds, it's goofy like the OG series was.
A bassy recreation of it with more sound detail and imperfections would do the trick.

Who or what fuels the autobots ? I can guess that the decepticons probably steal oil or gas and we know they use it cuz they bleed oil and have hydraulic lines all over them. Imagine the cost of filling up the autobots... they'd lose their war cuz we'd stop fueling them hahha

Man I love how the animation is completely unintelligible because Michael Bay ordered the VFX to make them look as little like Transformers as possible.
Oh and then they just gave up and turned all the bad guys into windows screensavers…
