A swimming pool can be great for cooling off, since Crete can be so very hot, but also for therapy
@@kaudsizyeah therapy ...not only body but mind too as in..winning trust. When they are affraid to go in..Takis or someone else need first to go in and a dog on the leash who stands not yet in the pool. Than pull on the leash slow but clear. The leash needs always be in a way that the dog is not hurt of course. Than there comes a moment the brain let go the anxiety. It needs patience, the person needs to stay in eye contact so the dog learn to trust the person than . Finally first steps .the pool needs a step for the dogs to go slowly into the water than after this therapy, the dog feel the water etc ..and will be happy.
Takis don't forget steps especially for the dogs who learn to go there. It's for dogs who have no trust in people and can mayor help. With a leash...you go first in the pool or someone else. And pull a bit...the leash in a special way ofcourse (no hurting)you stay watching in the eyes of the dog that you trust the dog and he will go slow step by step in the water and feel happy!it needs patience and can be done within few hours. It's all about love respect and trust as you know😊❤.
Some dogs are water dogs n will love n the clorine in the water kills dog lice n other bugs it"s a win win..i talk to mine like a oerson n he reacts to my words.it"s an awesome idea..even if it was for you who has the right to tell you no??.their not the ones giving their life to these animals 24/7..why shouldn't u have a great pool to cool off in..pfft on those trolls.

I’m still talking to my furry dear ace who’s in heaven now, I have his urn & im talking to him he’s my 1st & last furry baby, he slept beside me I treated him like my own son.He’s the most unloved breed but I loved him so dearly. There’s no dogs that are born aggressive it’s the owner that makes them a bad dog. I love my dear ace. His name is dear ace that’s why I used his name, his furever in m heart ❤️in memory of him I donate every month to Takis . ❤️🙏🌺

I had a wonderful rescue Borden Collie RIP Max. I was walking with him one day by the river, off the lead of course. He started crossing a bridge, and I just mumbled something about how we weren’t going over the bridge today and we were taking another route. He came back and took the correct route. A passing lady commented that she thought I was talking to a child, not a dog. He followed complex verbal instructions in more than one language, and even followed my eyes for non-verbal commands when necessary. Really miss my dog. Such a wise soul.
I think Takis Shelter dogs certainly understand Greek and English.
I think they understand humans talk in sentences, even though they don't understand grammar, theyre aware of the concept of a sentence insofar as it's something their humans do

I talk to my doggy every single day and he talks to me. I sing him his favorite song everyday. I tell him he is my son and that I love him. I don't care what people say or think about me because I know we understand and love each other. He just became blind through diabetes (he is 13 )and I am his guide person and he trusts me and he brings me on long walks now. Forever grateful that we chose each other❤❤
Beautiful story. Talking to your pets while they are young is excellent, as when they get blind, they ‘see’ by your voice, words etc. It is calming to them. You did an excellent job with your doggie. 🤩💛🥰🙋🏼♀️🛐
I do the same with my inside cat she know my daily routine and follows me everywhere I sing to her talk to her and greet her when getting up in the morning coming home and leaving my daughter thinks I am crazy but who cares what people think I know she is very happy now I took her in as a very sick stray and she fills the space in my heart as well as hers...I have 2 ferral kittens I have been taken care of since the winter I talk to them just as well they like being talked to same as the birds they sing to me every morning when feeding the stray kittens and I cluck back it is funny but yes they do understand I believe they feel loved with talking to them...

I do not have dogs, but two Tom cats. I speak with them all the time and they respond to me and I am confident that they understand me. They are the only family I have; I am retired and stay all time at home, with them. ❤

I do talk to my dog, but I've had people say I'm nuts for doing it. I don't understand those people.
People are nuts,if they had the sensitivity to relate to animals they'd understand that animals have feelings and respond using their eyes,body language and voice to everything....my mum has dementia and my dogs sigh with sadness when she forgets who they are and doesn't show the affection she did in the past.Our cats are resilient they jump on her lap anyway!

I always talk to my eight kittens and a bird. They were all abandoned and were terribly afraid of humans. When I say "I love you" the response is always "mraul" or they touch my head with their head. They run happily When I call out "Let's go for a walk" When the Pirate starts making a fuss and I say who is "naughty" he pretends it's not him. Animals know when love is real.❤❤❤
I didn't speak the same way to my dogs, very cool, always in good mood! 🐶🎉or my cats, susceptibles and a bit snobbish! 😾😅
My husband and i talk to our Buster who is 12yrs old like he is our 3rd son.he responds and loves talks with me and him alone.Buster listens intently and tilts hes head when i speak near and quietly to him.our grandaughter who copies me speaks to him the same as me.

Yess! My dog would talk back! He passed in 2020 😢 but he understood EVERYTHING! Now my cat is the same. She notices EVERYTHING and wants me to explain everything and she’s very intelligent, just like my dog was! ❤😊

My boy understands a lot of what I say. And he has tons of toys and knows the name of each one. Even the different kinds of balls he has, he can bring one by the name. His 10th birthday is the end of the month.

Love seeing Charlie! And love your plans for house and pool and new areas, I've been watching you for quite a few years now and you've built your shelter up from such basic beginnings and it's wonderful to see it continue to grow and improve. You're life is the shelter and those in your care, no one could give more, never let the trolls and negative get you down, you're doing an amazing thing and yes with all you give you should absolutely have some comfort and care for yourself, you provide so much comfort and care to hundreds of animals and literally share your bed and home with them so you should have a comfortable home to live in because you need to care for you as well.
