Let police find the name of person the car belongs to. Im sure an accident report was filed!
Agreed. Not that difficult. He knows police that could give him owner information.
And if an ambulance / hospital took the driver, they must have taken their name. This situation is very confusing.
This may confirm why the municipality is not doing a particularly great job....in many areas.
I posted that from day one Takis needs to talk to thier police officials regarding the accident they will have information through the liscense plate if anything!

I think UNLESS Takis talks to police and maybe talks to guy who is police who works sometimes with Takis with strays and gives him stray for shelter that pup should NOT ever be adopted UNLESS for sure Takis knows the man died with no relatives who would take her or wont be able to care for her anymore and no one who will help take care of her or did something and may go to jail for long time etc. you can tell a cared for dog, this is not a stray.
The car plates would know the owner - police could look them up !

I agree with many here, there is a way to find the owner, they didn't just drop off the face of the Earth. I feel the authorities don't really care, the place she was adopted from should have information on who adopted this little sweetie.

Are they sure the driver of the car survived. Maybe they passed in hospital. She was clearly cared for at some point.
Don't the police have information from the car accident? The owner of the car might be the owner of the dog.
she can not yet be adopted - the owner might be in a coma and not watching this channel. she can only be taken in foster home.

Hopefully her owner can somehow be contacted at the hospital by one of your volunteers to find out about his condition. Takis, what about your friend with the police he should be able to access information regarding the accident. That should help find the poor dog’s owner. ❤❤❤❤❤
I believe his friend is a member of the municipal police not of the traffic police. I remember Takis saying that the man who had the accident was not a Greek national, If he has no papers then he is not registered anywhere. He can also be in a serious condition, maybe in a coma, so nobody can talk to him and obtain some information either.

No no no. No don't give this dog a name. He has one already - find the owner- this is not impossible. The man from the police that brings you stray dogs, he is in the position to locate the owner. This dog needs to go back.

@@nicoleleger2407 I can attest. I adopted my dog back in 2013 ( in Greece) when it was not possible to register a microchip to a name and phone number. Way before there was a digital database. You could only prove ownership of your dog by having the dog's passport and a copy of the microchip number ( this was provided by the vet when microchipping the dog)
It might be the same, please don't give up yet. The owner might still be in the hospital fighting for their life!

Of course there is an owner. Just trace the owner of the car from the accident. Is that so difficult?
The owner didn't register the microchip in their name. It's happened here in the States before. It seems that since the municipality inserted it, they should know who adopted her.
Takis, there was a licence plate on the crashed car, have the police run the plates and go to the address.

Several people here have sugested contacting the police for the name of the owner. Yes. You need help, Takis. She's a gorgeous little thing who needs to return to her home or be adopted.
She is missing her family. But they not be physically able to take care of her right now. You are a blessing in puppys life right now . She is going through sadness not knowing what is going on. A good puppy buddy would be good. She is gorgeous and looks great. ❤❤❤

The owner might be in jail, disabled or dead. The police know the identity, location and condition of the driver, but either cannot or will not tell Takis. 😢

I had a dog many years ago that looked a lot like this little girl. He had spots sprinkled all over his body. I named him Sprinkles. I think that name would fit her. I nominate Sprinkles for her name. Peace 🕊️

The municipality that adopted her out should have registered the owner. It’s very possible the person did not know that she had not been registered to him/her. But as another comment said, the car number should help you Takis to locate the owner. She is lovely, but she may well be missing her owner and her owner missing her also.

An extremely dear, precious, sweet and gentle soul. Like a small lost child she seems a little worried. Such a sweet and calm disposition. It's obvious she just wants to be loved and given a good home, at least with the basics. She'd probably always be on her best behavior, obedient, pleasant and filled with infinite unconditional love. She's as precious as a delicate beautiful little flower. Name her after a delicate flower, maybe "DAISY or ROSIE"? If not, something dainty or feminine like Lucy, Meggy, (Meggie) or Penny. Last resort - Lilly. Somebody knows something. Authorities can research the car license plate or Vehicle Identification Number tag plate attached and fixed on the car to an owner. Local hospitals and emergency services should have records of accidents and their victims who were transported and admitted, etc. around the time the dog was discovered. If car is still by the tree, there may be paperwork, etc. inside identifying the owner. She could easily live for 20 years of life if well taken care of and fed good healthy food. You do phenomenal work with these animals and their love toward you speaks volumes. Amazing what you have done with Hero too, wow. You are an angel - an angel helping and saving angels (aka our furry friends) so they can serve humans with their love and companionship. 🙂 Your hard work is not unnoticed and the world is lucky you do it! Taki, if you cannot find her name, how about "Chiaro" (as in "chiaroscuro" ), or maybe, "Dot". Both of these are female names. If not her, then maybe for others.
For the dog's sake - AND for the owner's, I DO hope that s/he recovers well-enough and quickly-enough to get someone to contact you. The police DO know that you took this dog to care for her, right? They can tell the accident victim, presumably...
