    Having it slides is a hassle (slow loading). Having it on Dribbble and Behance means there are distracting elements. I figured Notion is my best hope and it's the fastest. So I googled it and your video came up. Thank you so much.

    Hi! I would like to ask, why I couldn't find Gallery - Inline in my notion? Is there anyone also experiencing this? Are they removing this feature or am I missing something here? Really need your help!

    • @DesignerUp
      @DesignerUp  2 года назад +2

      Hi Tafia. Don’t worry the gallery inline option is still there! It seems they have removed the default wording of Gallery Inline but the feature ans function is still there. All you need to do is type in /database and then select database inline, then click on the + button (just under the title of the table) to add another View and then select Gallery.
      You can also just create a page, start typing something in the body of the page and then either above or below that type /gallery and it will insert an inline Gallery by default. Let me know if that works?

    • @elle8995
      @elle8995 4 года назад

      Hey there! The Notion doc, when viewed in your web browser is responsive. And again the doc can be exported as HTML and then you could add media queries if you wanted to further customize for mobile experience!

    I was wondering about how to use Notion as my portfolio site and lo and behold, found your YT video. Curious to know because I didn't see it or I missed it, how do you build a navigation menu on it to house other projects?

    • @DesignerUp
      @DesignerUp  2 года назад +1

      What serendipity! 😀Unfortunately, there is no way to create a standard top level navigation that functions as it would on a website. However one workaround that comes to mind would be to create all the the pages that you want, then arrange them into columns (so they are aligned one next to the other). You can now use that block anywhere or copy to other pages. Hopefully that makes sense.

    • @denniszenanywhere

      @@DesignerUp Thanks for the suggested workaround.

    Bruh I literally tried this when I just redesigned my blog but Notion doesn't have an API so I ended up using Github Issues (I'm a programmer). It really is clever and feels really nice to edit in (as opposed to Medium which feels absolutely horrible to me).

    This is super helpful - thank you! My real problem is without a custom domain name, the shared link looks pretty horrid. Would an employer judge this?

    • @DesignerUp
      @DesignerUp  4 года назад +11

      As a little hack, I reccomend using bit.ly or www.rebrandly.com to mask the link. Bit.ly will just shorten and cloak it with a default, but rebrandly will allow you to choose a custom url. Most employers should be paying more attention to your work but just incase you come across one that would care, then this is a good compromise :)

  • @richardottley4611

    Hi.. is this website responsive? And can I embed a project from Behance to this portfolio site? Thanks best regards 🤗

    • @DesignerUp
      @DesignerUp  4 года назад +2

      Good questions Richard! Yes the Notion doc, when viewed in your web browser is responsive. And again the doc can be exported as HTML and then you could add media queries if you wanted to further customize. As far as Behance goes, to my knowledge, Behance does not have an embeddable widget that you could use inside of Notion (if I'm mistaken and they do, you could easily drop that into the embed block in your Notion page). Since being acquired by Adobe, Behance does have an API and you could therefore generate embed code from that to inject into your HTML exported file. Hope that helps!
