The interior of RAM is perfect
“Daily drivability” but 10 mpg and 14 mpg respectively. Then again, if you can afford a 90k+ vehicle that’s not an issue.
The stock outside rearview mirrors are larger than the TRX's but the interior is in a definite for a refresh for the Raptor.
In this case the TRX is overall a better truck for now especially with the V8 that the raptor currently doesn't offer/have.
As a offroad pickup truck going Baja, no one is going to waste their money on a truck with more than your mortgage plan on your home.
Clear winner of this test; the one and only....RAM TRX!!!

We’re having a TRX great at being unbiased. You also take comments well and don’t seem to like you get mad when people don’t Agree. Definitely one of the best auto reviewers out out here. I love that Shelby does this special stuff. But you are paying a lot of money for that name and Shelby number. But I would buy a loaded raptor and tune it and save 30k over both and be faster than both. And if wanted you can add some of the Shelby parts later. If you are more for off roading and reliability. The Raptor is where it’s at.
But the Shelby name does help the truck have better resale value over adding the parts yourself
@@BenHardyCars yes definitely!!! A lot of People don’t realize the difference between a Shelby done by Ford and a Ford done by Shelby. You can have a guy with a Shelby Gt500 next to a Shelby Raptor. And most people would like damn a Shelby Gt500s Not knowing the real Shelby is the raptor. Or a Shelby supersnake . The latest one is a mustang GT done by Shelby. The supercharger people think is Shelby but is not. The other supersnake a were based off the Gt500s and had a Kenne bell supercharger with the Shelby name on it. I can’t wait for a supersnake version of the Gt500s. It will probably cost 150k. But even then you can get a palm beach dyno package the cx1100 which is carbon fiber and makes 1100whp and 1300hp to the crank capable of running 8s in the 1/4 mile and being a champ on the road course. It’s basically 40k added to any of the Gt500s you want to add to. The Shelby version you will be paying way more for way less but the Shelby SHELBY GT500S WILL HAVE THAT certified Shelby number. Which will make it hold a value and probably go up over time. Now you have Shelby Hennessy Roush Harley etc making versions of mustangs and f150s they all hold a little bit more value. It cost way more than the upgrades are worth. People add all the Hennessy stuff to there raptors all the time and do everything for a fraction of the price. Out of them all the Shelby name is the only one I would pay for.
Lmao. Reliability? Ford? bruh, even Ben.. (this channel you commented on) had an insane amount of problems with a fairly brand new raptor. And he had hardly any miles on it. As for just about every other ford story. Ford is like owning a Ferrari. Unreliable as fuck and people are dumb enough to spend money on them

Does the raptor come with heated bumpers? You know to keep your hands warm in the winter while your pushing it.
As a person that doesn’t care about the fuel efficiency I would pick the TRX for daily work and pick the Raptor for off-road maybe ones a month or three times a years.

What Ben said about the brakes on the TRX reminded me Throttle House's F-150 Super Snake Sport vs. TRX races. Coming down of their rolling race, the TRX's pads were literally smoking. Prospective buyers should budget for new pads as frequent as oil changes, it not more.
I saw that and on TFL after a few hard runs with the TRX they complained about brake pedal fade and now this is the 4th time I've heard of this.

TRX...all day. The sun glistening off all the plastics in the $120k Shelby Raptor definitely looks cooler than the luxurious interior of the TRX...at least there is that too.
It feels the author is a fan of raptor.
When the new Raptor hits the dealerships,it will be a cool comparison on these 2 trucks.....

@@johnconnors5123 most mustangs nowadays even the GTs run in the 12s and just some bolt ons and suspension can run 10s. TRX can do 13 and sometimes there claimed 12s. Gotta think there are guys with f150s with the coyote that run 13s from the factory and some bolt ins they can go down ito the 11s without. A supercharger. With a supercharger f150 with stock motors run 10s and some go as low as 8s in the 1/4. The TRX has power but it’s just to heavy. Even a tuned raptor beats it fully loaded for 30k less. They built a off-road truck that is not the greatest off-roader and is kind of quick. They should’ve focused on all our off-road ability or did something like the srt 10 except with a hellcat. The way I see it if you are gonna spend $100,000k buy a mustang to go fast and a raptor for off-road and tune it. The. You have a faster truck and a sports car for the real speed. Being over weight kills it in every way even flying through the air it literally kills itself. Hellcats way almost 2000lbs less than the TRX and I’ve never seen a hellcat hit 100,000 miles. What do you think is gonna happen with all that extra weight!?!? I love the engine for it’s out of the box power. The challenger hellcats are just a giggle factory to drive. Because of the sounds and burnouts But that’s it. Go to a drag strip and you will see mustangs chewing up hellcats all day long. The weight and size kills them. I have 2 hellcat motors tore down right now. Both stock both blew at around 70k miles and were rebuilt now both are blown again at 150k one had upgraded bearings done the first time and now it shattered a rod putting a fist sized whole in the block on start up one day. The other has the worst spun bearings I’ve ever seen. I’m trying to get one out of the 2. But this my friend is why hellcats that once cost 70k can be picked up for 30k with some miles on them. Most guys I have met eventually gave up on them and the most diehard dodge guys keep there rams but buy mustangs instead of challengers and chargers. It’s sad I wish Dodge would do a redesign instead of just bolting parts bin parts on tossing them in other cars and calling it new. They becoming a aged platform. If they were gonna make something fast they need something light and small. Less stress in the engine. My hopes were always a Small light weight viper with a hellcat engine. But that’s just dreaming. The fact they haven’t changed a thing and the challenger has looked the same forever makes me worry they are cooking up EVs to replace all this fun stuff.
Car Culture Nation there will be a lot of mustangs, camaros and other cars that will think they can dust doors off TRX at a traffic light . Boy are most going to get surprised . Will it beat every mustang , no . But it will beat more than it will lose too. That was my point.
@@johnconnors5123 wow keep dreaming. 4cyl mustangs run around the same times in the 1/4 mile with 12.6 12.8 that’s TRX times. TRX is less likely to get them times a v8 mustang GT runs 11s. There are more mustangs than there ever will be TRX Gt500s can run into the 10s. That’s not including the fact that a lot of mustangs are upgraded. Think of this way. There are more 6-7-8-9-10 sec 1/4 mile mustangs in the planet than any other vehicle. There are not many vehicles that can even do that with a factory block down to the 7s
Do you plan to do a review on the Rivian R1T or the R1S? Also, if you can and if you do plan to review the Rivian models, can you do a comparison between the Tesla Cyber Truck and the Rivian R1T?
Until the trx does the baja like the raptor did it will be 2nd best......period. I would take the shelby raptor 10 times out of 10

Ben you cant compare them for offroad trx and raptor.. I have had 4 raptors and still waiting on my trx.I have had 15 differnet jeeps, gladiators and on and on. Also a LS 2018 2 door rubicon 200k build.You need to do comparision on same trail etc.Looking at how the trex did in jumps etc at Ram.I wouldnt say that the raptor is better at offroad. also did the shop in mesa get your bumper scanned?IThey contacted me but said who ever is first.You won.Take both rigs out and compare you may be surprised.

No comparison IMO...TRX all the way....rumble of a V8 compared to an Ecopuss fart....looks wise the TRX inside and out.
Both trucks are awesome...however in the real world...I prefer a V8 any day over a V6 in a full size truck if for no other reason than toughness and long term use and in terms of smoothness i have yet to meet a V6 that outperforms a V8...Ford has more dealerships than Ram and has been at this longer than Ram so I expect the Raptor to outsell the Ram...but for me the Ram is more luxurious, has a lot more stuff and lots less fluff and plastic. The Ford is for the spoiled kid out to impress who's dad is going to buy it for them and they will tear it up in a week and just get another one. The Ram has long term quality and is made of better materials and therefore a better investment! Ram!

You sound like someone who really wants the Raptor to win the comparison and are making up whatever you can grab at. According to you, the TRX has better power, rides better, is more refined for daily driving, we all know it has a nicer interior and better centre screen and sounds waaaay better although quieter inside. I don't think comparing a tuner offering to a stock offering is fair. Wait till the tuners are done with the TRX and then compare the tuners with each other. Ram wins stock, no question.
I’ll compare the trx to a stock raptor soon, but there are benefits to both trucks.

@Ben: I heard you mention the Shelby Raptor is the better offroader. I'm curious on how did you arrive at that assessment? Sure, Shelby did change out the shocks and a couple of other tidbits, but the Ram still has better wheel articulation and far better rear suspension design. And as far as value, one must remember that SRT vehicles with the Hellcat do not lose very much in value; neither do the Shelbys. So both are good in that department. I might even say the TRX will do better than most trucks because of the pent-up demand for V8 super trucks. Both of these are amazing trucks, but no way is that Shelby $30k better than a TRX.
weight. the trx is too heavy to do serious off-roading. most non-fanboys know the trx is faster and sounds better than the raptor.. that’s about it. watch streetspeed717’s RUclips video for proof that you don’t wanna be sending these hellcat trucks off the same ramps you would a raptor.
@@peytonlove2598 what most people love to omit in the SS717 saga is the lack of actual structural damage. No damage to the frame. No suspension damage. No engine/trans failures. And taking into account the mentioning of weight: by SS717 own admission the TRX's jump was 25mph faster, far higher, and he lander farrrr further than in any of the Raptors jumps. Moreover, 95%+ of owners will never do to any of these trucks what 717 did to his truck. And...I can't wait to hear the weight argument when the Raptor R comes in at over 6000 pounds with the Predator under the hood(the GT500 already weighs 4200 pounds, so it is easy to see the Raptor R being about as heavy as a TRX). I don't mind the weight when everything works so damn good.
I agree like he obviously loves the raptor but there’s no proof like the TRX is a beast and like the Shelby raptor isn’t event fully factory like that gets shipped out to get that package so like it’s not a true comparison
@@hellkitty1014 no ones going into detail about the structural damage bc a fucked up truck is a fucked up truck😂there’s a reason the trx is no longer his and the raptor is. also by his own admission the trx takes front heavy to a whole new level especially if you’re flinging it off of ramps. it doesn’t really matter what 95% of owners are doing you asked why one is superior in the off-road aspect. and yes, the raptor r will be heavier, faster, and less off road capable than the gen 2 due to... weight not sure why it was brought up lol. the case stands though if you want to off-road and money isn’t a problem go w the raptor if you wanna beat people at the light choose the trx.

Nah, it is doesn't have the frame upgrade that these two trucks have. So while it may have offroading goodies ans power it wouldn't be as capable to handle what the TRX or Shelby would.

New 2021 Raptor is faster than the TRX. This is confirmed. Ford is laughing their asses off. Nothing will be funnier than than stupid hell cat getting smoked. If you watch TFL race the tuned Raptor on 37”, the TRX only beat it by 5 feet. New Raptor has more horsepower / torque
Buddy that was a tuned raptor vs stock TRX. Plus 2021 raptor only has 40hp more like that’s gonna make difference. Tune a TRX and watch that thing would dust a tuned raptor any day
