- The dwarf sundew releases an enticing, sweet smell that many invertebrates find irresistable. After climbing the plant, the victim finds itself ensnared in thick mucilage, and its struggling does nothing but cause the tentacle-like leaves to curl up, sealing its fate. It is soon digested, providing vital nutrients to the plant in this poor soil.

What's preventing you from just ignoring them?
You might want to walk past them to reach something. That said, your ants won't climb them if you have food gathering turned off - but that might require a bit of micro if you don't want to lose any ants.

Well pretty sure it’s a death trap, but with enough ants it’ll be full in a few minutes
and i almost forgot add BEAVER ANTS i think GAMINGBEAVER (he plays your game btw and i love when he plays EOTUG (empires of the under growth) would like the BEAVER ANT oh yeah dont forget they live in tall trees and live in leaf's
Hopefully I can get a better laptop before this drops so I don't have to see it on the lowest graphic setting
Something with a dedicated GPU and at least 8gb of RAM is recommended.

Just a quick idea here, so I think I would be cool if you guys made it so that the queen could move around the nest and if for example there was danger in the nest you could put the queen in a pherimon group and lead her to a safe part of the nest until the workers and soldiers kill whatever the danger is in your nest

We've thought about it, but that's an entirely different game. Everything's balanced around the one point you have to defend.

When will the next big update be for empires of the undergrowth?
Soon, this stuff shown here, is part of the upcoming fire ant update. If things go according to plan, it should be released this summer. (Not a guarantee)

Add a the environmental option to add army ant marches around the map in freeplay.
Also I had a extra level idea that would make you use slave makers and trapjaws to escort a queen up a long pathway with enemies spawning around getting harder and harder the closer the queen is the area it must be escorted to,you start with 850 food and 5 slave makers with 2 trapjaws,tiles and eggs respawn immediately,and digging does not require workers,you have 5 minutes to prepare your army for the voyage,completing this mission on any difficulty gives you major leafcutters to the counterpart colony in freeplay after beating the other foot.
Also,killed ants respawn around the queen when the voyage starts,you get a constant food supply to make sure you don’t run out of soldiers and the queen gets mobbed to death.if the queen is at half the health,a reinforcement group of 45 media army ants and 9 major army ants will spawn and demolish everything they come across,then they will go along the path to clear out as much as they can until they die.
@@Kupsode doesn’t make sense adding another major to a colony which already has a major (Army Ant Major). The idea itself is nice.
Well at least add the common black and wood ants in the counterpart.

Yes, there will be new bugs. The ones seen in the video are the red velvet ant, false bombardier adult and larvae, and checkered beetle larvae. There are tons more such as the Great Blue Skimmer (titan), Wasp Mantidfly, Green Lynx Spider, Six Spotted Fishing Spider, and some amphibians, such as the Eastern Newt, American Bullfrog (biggest creature in the game), and Dwarf Salamander, and tons of others!

Fingers crossed, this summer. This is one of the new story missions.

@@Gabriel_TheArchAngel no… there will be 3 new levels, 4.1, 4.2, and a formicarium challenge. The new ants will be fire ants, along with little black ants and bigheaded ants. There will also be new enemies such as six spotted tiger beetle, red velvet ant, bombardier beetle, checkered beetle, bullfrog, blue skimmer, green lynx spider, and many more!

So when is this stuff coming out is it going to be a new update or on a new map fore freeplay mode or is it for a other level like babysitting or will it be added to story mode for a new formicarium level?
New story mission. 4.1 and 4.2 will be releasing hopefully this summer, everything you see will be in the story and later on freeplay.

The new levels are the fire ants, tier 4 is all about the Red Imported Fire Ant. The levels will revolve around them.

I’m so excited for this update!
I had a interesting idea for empires of the undergrowth if you like it. You could make it where you can choose to kill or capture an Uber creature and make it a colony ally and you can use them to either fight and attack other ant colonies, join your ant army, defend the queen, or protect specific resources, or attack other creatures. The choice would be up to the player.
that would not be scientifically accurate at all, but it could be a minigame thing.
The detail and presentation is so well made i watched from the sidelines but i will join the party soon

I grow a lot of different species of carnivorous plants and I can't wait for this to come out! I have been playing since December 3, 2017 and this is still one of my favorite games. I just love the graphics and game play. Keep up the good work!
Think we could have a corpse/rubbish management system? I remember watching a video of fire ants throwing the bodies of dead ants into some pitcher plants (the plant gets free nutrients, the ants get an effective disposal system and a sweet snack)
can you add a BLACK WIDOW and a and the DINOPERA ANT oh yeah in 2023 add the MEAGRCHNE its an extinct sea scorpion well in its OG form it was a giant tarantula bigger then the BIRDEATER oh yeah i think the dinopera queen is bigger the the bullet ant queen and the leafcutter queen

@@SlugDisco I was talking about the level challenges, like with the phorid flies from levels 3-1 and 3-2. But I'm still scared about that.
@@RandomPerson-yg8fs Ah! It won't be coming right away with the update, but the challenge creature for the 4.x levels will be the six-spotted fishing spider (Dolomedes triton).

I have some carnivorous plants at home and I’m growing an army of them lol. I think you should make the animations more accurate, yes I know your not finished but just in case. Cant wait for the update to release btw because I l l l l l o o o o o v v v v v e e e e e carnivorous plants 🐜 ❤️. 🌱 ❤️
In this case "accurate" would be several hours of slow, drawn-out curling up as the insect struggles and touches more and more sticky globules. Since the average game of EotU lasts about 45-50 minutes we don't really have time for accuracy here :P

Hey, Slug disco I know you might not get this but if your do here are some ant species that I think would be intresting to add to the game.First one is Weaver ants, so in real life Weaver ants can make nest made of leaves and silk from their larva, I think it would be cool to see how that would look like ingame.Second Bullet ants, now in real life Bullet ants don't have nuptial flights or a traditional Queen system they instead are the few ants speceis that operate by a gamergate system if you dont know how it works, here's how there are know queens in bullet ants.All of the bullet ant colony are workers, the most dominant female lays the eggs {she also fights those who try to take over her spot as egglayer} and when a new gamergate takeover afther the previous famergate died, they need a male from a totally unrelated bullet ant colony to fertilize the dominant female/gamergate, again it would be cool to see how that would work in EotU.Last but not least is the Carpenter ants, in rl they make nests in wood and like the Weaver ants and their leaf nests, it would be cool to how that would look like and work.Thos are just some of the ant species I want but those are my top 3. no pressure by the way.
Weaver ants have been deconfirmed because of their complex nesting system, doesn’t fit with the current systems. Bullet ants will come out after tier 5 as a reward species for completing the game, however they will be an ereptor exclusive, not have their own colony. Carpenter ants are also deconfirmed.
@The Emperor aw I'am a new fan so I didn't know all of that. Oh well astleast one of my ant colonies will be in EotU.

Interesting... so it looks like you'd want a lot of ants to visit a sundew, so all the traps are triggered and then you can collect the sap.
They won't give resources - in nature they smell like nectar to draw insects to them, but they don't actually have anything for them. Sneaky.

@@raptorofwar4415 Yes for the Venus flytrap (which is itself technically a kind of sundew) but the pitcher plant will actually provide nectar. There's a high chance of losing ants to it, though, so it'd be wise to send workers rather than soldiers to make it worthwhile.
