- Finally got out to the farm to test shoot this M60B. I used 4 pellets: AirArm 18gr, JSB 18gr, Hades 16gr and AirArm 16gr.
The Hades shot the best group out to 50 yards. The rest of them were not as tight group. But I wouldn't rule them out just yet. Maybe with some minor adjustments to the Reg/HS, one of them might shoot better.
With the Hades 16gr, the average velocity was 857 fps,32.2 ft.lb. I was able to get a 3/4" five shots group out to 50 yards. Of course I stopped my testing at the point because I didn't want to ruin the moment. Rest assure that I will do more groups on the next outing.
Since my HW100T was leaking and out of commission, I am using this M60B as my rat shooting gun with the Pard008 LRF night vision scope. I will be out at the farm to find some volunteers rats to block the Hades as soon as the weather is cleared. Too much rain as of late.
What was my thought after this first outing? This gun can shoot well with the right pellet and with some minor tweak to the Reg/HS, it has the potential to shoot even better. Can it be compared to my FX Impact MK2? I think it might come close in terms of accuracy out to 50 yards, possibly longer ranges. I will find out next time. It is not built like an FX, but for the price and its potential to shoot sub MOA, it is definitely an affordable alternative PCP to own and have fun with.
I will continue to test and push its limit and see what kind of groupings I will get with different projectiles, including slugs.
Enjoy.
Oh and I think that's a good plan to turn back the hammer spring a turn or so. Others have found that helpful for accuracy as it seems to be cranked up a bit much from the factory and probably would do well with a coil off the hammer spring for greater adjustability.
Yes, I will adjust the HS both up and down to have a comparison to see which work best with the Hades 16gr as a test sample.
By the way, the "twang" sound is the "ping" from the hammer hitting the valve. I guess I will have to look into how to reduce that "ping" sound.
Great to see you and your video. I know you shot the four selected pellets and weights, but for accuracy, perhaps 880-920 fps would improve performance. At 950+ there my be some stability issues with the pellets? Could you try 5 shot groups at 30 again at lower speed?
@@rpouncy Yes, I will definitely do more extensive tests with different speed. This video was my first time shooting this gun straight out of the box. I only used these 4 pellets due to limited time on the range with rain coming in the forecast. I will test other pellets and slugs next time out.
First adjustment will be the HS, leaving the Reg as is. I will increase and decrease the HS to see what happens. Lots of tests ahead so stay tuned. Thank you for watching.
Great job on the video, really well done look at its performance with the pellets you tried and and the effects of wind.
Thank you Wes. Yes, I was pretty happy with the Hades result. More tests to follow.
I ordered one from Wes not too long ago. Mine really like H&N 25gr .218 slugs @840 fps. I backed the hammer spring all the way out till it's flush again the buttstock. Best thing about the gun is the barrel. Not pellet fuzzy at all! But slugs it is kinda picky.
Me too! Thx for the info, I'm going to try those slugs as well.
Good video Alex, I know Tommy has one on the way. Promising for sure.
Hey, how are you? Long time. Yes, his got delayed yet again.
Thx for the video and look forward to you making the reg and hammer adjustments 👍🏽
Thank you for watching. Yeah, I will start off with the HS adjustments up and down to see which direction works best with the current Reg setting.
Rifle looks great! Wes is always out of these everytime i check, lol. 😊
Well, they sell quick for a reason, lol. Check with him again.
Thanks for the interesting video. I very almost got one of these, my budget is quite low and they seem to offer a lot for the money. In the end I ordered a Kral Empire X, I just got a an excellent deal on it (M60B about €680 and the Kral was €505)and like the fact its quite a bit shorter. I'll will be tuning the Kral a lot a probably fitting a regulator. The M60B however does look like a very nice platform to start tuning and modding
Wow, the M60B is more expensive where you are. Hopefully you will get the Kral to shoot well. So far the M60B is performing well and has a great potential to be even better. Hopefully I can make some adjustments to improve it. Thanks for watching.
@@AirRiflePestings Usually the Kral is about €760 but I got a great deal. They are UK spec 12 ft-lbs rather than the 18 we have here in Spain. Doesn't matter anyway because I will be tuning it and probably regulating it
@@philholder-z5m Good deal! Yes, tune and make it better.
Nice review, very detailed and informative, maybe a bit to much , a bit hard to follow some, but I’ll watch it a couple more times. I think I am going to call Wse and buy one tomorrow. Thanks again.
Thank you. Yes, call Wes and see if he has one available for you. Good luck and have fun with it. It is a great affordable PCP for sure.
Sweet review!
Thanks for watching. Wait for the rats shooting video with this gun next week. Cheers.
Love the way you design the gun! Can you send links for the carbon fibers you did please ?
Thank you for watching. I got some 3M carbon fibre wrap from my friend's car detail shop. But I am sure you can find some online. I like to wrap my guns with it because it looks good and it protects the finish.
Love your review of the m60b. Mine is on order from Wes so keep up the good work! Do you have a strip down vid?
Walter
Thank you. You can order the adaptor to fit so you don't have to remove the bottle to fill each time. No, I don't have one. Maybe one day, thanks for watching.
@@AirRiflePestings I figured it out. Not bad to work on but there sure are a lot of screws eh!
@@MrVoltar1 Good job. Yes, lots of screws for sure.
Are you going to adjust your speed for best accuracy or was 950 the best speed for accuracy in your M60B?
Really surprised to see 18.13s not grouping great to be honest. They like most of my .22 cal PCPs in the 880- 900ish FPS range
I will make adjustments to the HS by increasing and decreasing while keeping the same factory Reg at 140 Bar. Most likely to keep it around 950 fps as most of my other guns have done well shooting around that speed. Each barrel/gun is different. I will definitely do lots of tests to find out which pellet or slug this "Impact-Look-Alike" gun prefers. I will give the 18gr a go again.
My thoughts exactly…his 18.13 groups look like what I used to get on my Avenger BP before making the Reg and Hammer adjustments. Once tuned and I do my part dime size groups at 50yrds no wind. I like budget pcps and this one with a bottle is in my price range 😁
@@juliocs5483 Yes, with the right combination of Reg/HS can make most ammo work.
Do you know the barrel twist rate bynany chance? Awesome channel man!
Sorry I don't. But it shoots both pellets (16gr and 18gr JSB and Air Arm) and slugs (NSA 17.5gr) well. Thanks for watching.
Νice review! Would you consider choosing the 0.25 caliber for hunting pests?
make sure to use a chronograph. Pellets like a bit slower than slugs. ~925fps max on pellets. Try shooting them at different speeds if you want to tune for projectiles.
Will do. So far I haven't need to really tune this PCP yet. Still playing with it and shooting the NSA 17.5 gr slugs. I got the best accuracy so far. Once I have more time, I will fine tune it. Thanks for watching.
Where did you purchase this m60b in the USA?
I got mine for Wes of Air Gun Archery Fun in Canada. He has new order coming in from China. Give him a call. He ships to US.
That speed seems pretty high for pellets. How did you come about deciding what speed to use? Adjustable reg right?
The hades clearly liked that speed.
My comments were before watching all the video. Thanks. Look forward to seeing more.
@@Beanflip Thank you for watching. Yes, the Reg/HS is adjustable. This test was straight out of the box from factory with Reg pressure preset at 140Bar. I will try other pellets before making any adjustments to the HS. After that I will give the slugs a try.
👍🏻♥️
I have the 25 caliber , it likes the JSB 25.39 .
Thank you Joe for sharing the info.
Where are you located? Are you in US or Canada?
Up North
Good looking pcp 👍
Looks similar to the FX Impact but a lot cheaper!
Very good!!!!!
Thank you for watching. Yes, this PCP has great potential.
Sabe dizer se vem para Brasil?
Have you tried slugs in it
Yes, I did. Please watch my newest video. I used the NSA 17.5gr slugs and it was very good tight groups at 50 yards. My next video will show it shooting more at 50 and 75 yards.
What kind of power fpe
with the Hades 16gr, it is 32.2 FPE, 957fps
Awesome
Thank you for watching.
i had to put a lothar walther barrel in mine to get it to shoot
Oh, that is too bad, but I am sure your Lothar walther barrel is a much better upgrade.
Mantap sekali master
Stop making videos like children, forget the pellets, use heavy bullets like: 30, 35, 40 grains. and make a video like who knows what is air guns are. thanks.
You're on the wrong page for that energy, buddy. He clearly stated this will be for ratting purposes.
