    Harada: In the name of aggressive play style, i shall nerf back dashing to the ground

      @@romzen bad game design to who exactly?

    • @romzen
      @romzen 7 месяцев назад +5

      @@Athena4Lyfe It is objectively bad game design.
      1) Because it is not intended, it is by definition bad design.
      2) KBD is a horrofic wrist movement. Nothing about it is ergonomic or intuitive. Pretty much any other other game is fine allowing spamming back repeatedly. There is no reason to overcomplicate a basic movement concept.
      3) KBD for the longest time was mandatory for competitive play. But fighting games are competitive from the lowest skill levels onwards. It is a an absolutely hideous arbitrary skill to master in order to compete with higher level legacy players. This splits the community and raises the bar for competition for all beginners who may fall in love with the game otherwise.
      4) Modern fighting games are less about running away. They are about zoning. If you want your product (game) to succeed these days you must adhere to the trends. Also Tekken was never about zoning with projectiles and perpetual gain of space. But KBD enables the most frustrating playstyles having to deal with in Tekken that also do not make any sense from a logical perspective. If you are on the defense and running, then you should not be rewarded with a stronger offense as your opponent wastes his time closing the gap. But KBD does exactly that.
      Overall: Absolute shit design. Whether intended or not.

    I think they shouldnt nerf
    In fact, give everyone great movement buffs
    Movement adds so much to a gameplay and makes it more complex
    If everyone is on giga-speed, then there shouldnt be complaints.

    Nerfing KBD is something that can be debated upon. But nerfing overall movement was extremely bad imo. Now nerfing movement in itself wasnt terrible on it’s own. But they buffed the power of the buttons. There are literally homing, mid, counter hits launchers that are safe on block. Basically Kazuya’s df+2 on steroids. Moves do a lot of damage and knock down or stagger. Or they are extremely plus ok block forcing you into a mix up. The reason I played Tekken over SF, DBFZ, Guilty Gear or MK is because of the Y axis movement. I dont have to sit there and guess low or overhead. I can simply step out of the pressure. That’s becoming less and less true.
