She was very unprofessional during her short run in My Fair Lady and would frequently ditch performances citing illness when she was really out partying. Jonathan Pryce never knew which Eliza he would share the stage with every performance.
You lot are disgusting Martine battled ME which she contracted after she battled glandular fever when she was in Eastenders. Check out facts before ripping someone to pieces for such a horrendous physical and mental illness. Martine thoroughly deserved this award as when she was performing everybody thought she was phenomenal.
@@ifeelpretty5790 How the hell did she win an award and Jonathan Pryce did not? He deserves a special endurance award for acting with 15 different actresses in the role of Eliza. Good for Pryce for not being a showbiz phoney and pretending he was pleased.
Thanks for uploading this - it's so great to watch some of the old award shows. If you have the one from December 1987/January 1988 I would really appreciate it if you could upload it as I'm looking for a better version of the "All I Ask of You" duet that Michael Ball and Claire Moore sings in that show.
@@georgeash4008 She was actually ill with incurable multi-systemic diseases which left her paralysed for periods and far worse. All he showed was how ungracious and unempathetic he is.
I think JP was perfectly justified to be a bit put out that she got the award. I was on the production team & she made things very difficult. Turning up late or saying she would be performing then cancelling at the last minute. When she did turn up she’d be very indifferent & unapologetic about the inconvenience she’d caused. You can’t run a show like that. JP did an amazing job of holding the show together & getting the understudies up to speed at very short notice. She never apologised to him or thanked him as far as I’m aware. She just expected the cast & crew to put up with it. I’ve no animosity towards her but I don’t think she should’ve got the Oliver Award on this occasion. Illness or no illness.
2003 was sadly the last time highlights were shown on television, then nothing at all from 2004 to 2010, until, as you say, they returned in 2011 & 2012 on Red Button. :-( Am looking forward to seeing Michael Ball in Glasgow on Thursday! :-)
Thank you! Video of the 2003 Awards should be up in a few days, but I'm afraid I don't have access to copies of any from earlier than 2002. Wish I had!!
No worry, I just thought I'd ask. :) Do you know when they stopped showing the awards on tv? I know they just started showing them again in 2011. And they certainly didn't show it in 2008 when Hairspray won best musical. (I'm a fan of Michael Ball as you've probably already figured out)
Here for the martine mccutcheon drama
Lovely to see Philip Quast.
Thanks for uploading the entire show! :))
Talk about a face of thunder on Jonathon Pryce 😳😳
Could Jonathan pryce look less enthused when she won
Really? Why do you say so?
Nobody in the history of the theatre is less deserving of an award than McCutheon, the laziest POS that ever "trod the boards, FFS".

Pryce couldn't be bothered to clap which speaks volumes 8:51
It does, how stupid they were to award it to his no show so called co-star.

Certainly does. Shows he has no class.

Do you have the 2003 video?
If you still have the 2003 video somewhere, I would so love to see it!
Hey, I'm looking for the 2003 Awards Show. Do you have it?
Did they show the Laurence Olivier Award for Most Promising Performer with Noel Clarke and Sam Heughan there?
Thanks so much for the upload. Looking forward to the 2003 Awards Show.
Note to Roger Allam fans: He appears at 0:35:30 and at 0:47:00.
Do you have the 2008 show? Thanks!

Do you have the 2011 show?
