Even the judges noticed that there was something wrong with the match, Hawk clearly only lost cause he was going easy on Kenny and because Kenny used dirty moves on him, after Kenny's first point Hawk stopped going so easy on him and actually scored a point but the ref was bribed and didn't considered it. If Hawk was serious from the beginning he would've quickly scored the 3 points, it wouldn't even be a match.

I agree with you that it was too easy, but keep in mind Kenny never stopped training after the tournament whereas Hawk and the Miyagi do’s shut up shop until like the days before this fight so it stands to reason Hawk was a little rusty
Very bad writing I agree, but when you really think about it, Kenny did put in a ton of hours practicing the moves & mastering his craft. He's very dedicated & smart, so I guess that can defend the writers very bad writing.

I think Hawk lost because he tried to get away from his aggressive fighting style. All those days at Miyagi-Do and he's completely changed. Meanwhile, Kenny trained non-stop and built up a lot of courage. His speed is built to overcome strength, which was the case in this fight. Not to mention Robby asked him to take it easy on Kenny, so he didn't fight hard.
This is still only a few months after the tournament. Hawk didn't take him seriously the first point, much like Robby. But then he definitely did. How Hawk suddenly can't defend a pretty simple hit to the gut, is absolutely dumb writing. I realize Silver taught Kenny where to hit him, but you still have to deliver that hit, which is hard against someone as experienced as Hawk. We saw Hawk defend much more difficult attacks against Robby and Miguel, but Kenny has no problem getting in a gut shot. This makes no sense. We are suppose to believe Kenny is now so much stronger since then. Are we supposed to believe he's better than Hawk? No, but he suddenly can go toe-to-toe with a Hawk. Again, just absolutely dumb.

The two are not the same scene-by-scene, but there are recognizable similarities that call in deja vu for me.
This is probably the most annoying and dumb part of this whole season...I mean kenny has improved but him beating hawk with almost no ease and basically defeating robby?! That is too much of a plot convenience than to believe this to be actually true...Overall this season really was hit and miss...I didn't like that they cancelled out a character like Piper completely or didn't give characters like bert or nate some serious screentime....The whole show just seems too overfilled with new characters...

The Miyagi-Do's and Eagle Fang's trained nonstop up until the tournament and before they had already had months more of training in their separate dojo's mainly Hawk trained all of S2 and S3 and in S4 barely took any breaks. Sure Kenny trained nonstop too but for less time under Cobra Kai and overall. So like I said he shouldn't be that good already unless he's just naturally talented.
I like how Hawk and Robby settled their differences and are actually friendly to one another. Can’t say that they are friends just yet cos I believe that would take time. But hopefully by the end of season 6 they’ll be more than that.

I like how Hawk and Robby settled their differences and are actually friendly to one another. Can’t say that they are friends just yet cos I believe that would take time. But hopefully by the end of season 6 they’ll be more than that.
Hawk is the better fighter experience wise but Kenny learned a new powerful technique that caught everyone off guard.

Kenny was learning directly from Silver night and day, Hawk wasn’t as dedicated to his training as Kenny was and was learning conflicting styles, on top of the fact he wasn’t taking it seriously from the beginning, that Kenny knows all of Hawks moves, and the fact that there was cheating? Yeah Kenny disables the leg to force Hawk to punch, and then takes him down. Kenny was a better fighter than Hawk here, plain and simple.
