MODERN BUILDS
Hi, My name is Mike Montgomery and I'm a MAKER; a designer, builder, and full-time content creator. Accessibility is my focus with Modern Builds, not simply accessibility of designs, but accessibility in materials, information, and projects themselves. I've focused on creating furniture and DIY projects that are simple enough that any beginner maker can accomplish, yet interesting enough that any expert might be inspired. Building and making is becoming less and less of an exclusive hobby and profession. My goal is to reduce that separation even further. Хобби
Would love to see more videos like this, little client projects! That was fun, great pacing
Awesome book that gives you step-by-step photos ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt and directions to make every day project. I can see myself making a few of these projects and giving them as housewarming and holiday gifts!
Glad to see you are building for local businesses. Great finished project! 👍💪👏✨❤
Turned out great! The gold worked well with the white brick wall. Also, Mike has some hops! Dude got like 2 1/2 feet of air! Sheesh Mike!
these perfectly match the vibe of the store. Really impressed with the final shots. Nice work!
Thank you for sharing. You are incredibly talented! 🤗
Nice project, Mike.
Looks like it’s time to build some shop furniture!
I was needing this so much super pro!!!
Just a heads up the thumbnail has the spelling error "dispaly"
No it’s Italian. Very fancy
@@McFlubberpants😂
No it doesn't 🤨🥴
Love this! I'll just DIY my own rack from here forward. Now to invest in tools...
The racks and shelves look good, Mike. Thanks for sharing this video.
I love these clothing racks! There never seem to be enough closet space. And I detest the wall mounted metal closet inserts. Being a Veteran, discipline and order is a major feature in the sanctuary of my home, period. Having a user-friendly closet is mandatory. So as I build my own this is certainly my new closet! ❤❤
Those racks are great, and the exhibition and visual are amazing!
Great project! love to see you make these things with simple tools.
Great work man looks amazing!!
have you done closet inserts? i feel like this could be the building block for custom closets and modules
Mike, thanks for so many entertaining videos. I hate seeing the crap you can sometimes take in the comments - you’re a super creative maker, with a great eye, and accessible approach to building. Keep up the good work, don’t let the haters get you down, and thanks again for the inspiring content!
I actually think this is great. I need a 1m tall table for some audio equipment for my room and I think the shelf with the candles but made shorter, and with two tops is perfect.
Well done. Glad to see you putting out new stuff.
squarer and squarer, love it!
Love the victory jump at the end 😂
After the last 4 months of 2x4 'my entire life' this guy will have more 2x4s in his house than 2x4s that the house was built with!
The ending was very funny
They look great in the store!
Cute!
How did you find such perfectly square edged and straight 2x2’s? The 2x2 furring strips at my local home stores are absolutely awful! Crooked as a politician and rounded edges. 😊
I LOVE IT!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I give up the moment I see them using sophisticated tools 😂
😂
I love the irony of Thquare Thpathe thponthoring thomeone with a thpeech impediment.
I like the look. It goes so great in her shop. Nice job 👍
Nice basic racks that can be used to closets or basement/garage storage. A nice lighter look than typical 2x4 shelves.
The only trick is finding straight 2x2s and then cutting and fastening them together before they warp. But with such a basic design it looks like a very quick build.
could an option be ripping down 2x4s? would that be easier?
@@baxt1412 Warping could be even worse because ripping the 2x4 will expose the middle of the boards that can still have a lot more moisture than the faces already exposed, and when the exposed middle starts drying it will quickly warp the boards. Best odds is to take time choosing straight boards and plan to cut them to size and join them as soon as you get them home. You can also cut them to size and store them in trash bags to reduce the acclimation to your home humidity.
👍👍
3:48 and ol mate splits the corner. Any fixes for ppl that run into that?
Mike, you be careful around The Stumps. There's nothing to do around there except drink, and Marines get bored easily. Of course, the best way to make Marines disappear is tell them you're looking for volunteers for a working party to take care of the SgtMjr's lawn.
I like your hair
Great job.I watch you on my phone and don’t get a description area. Could you tell me again what type of Keegan tool it was.
Thanks and Merry Christmas

framing lumber and modern builds
Out of curiosity, what happened to the bench and the rest of the build out you did for your shop? It is bear in there again.
He probably shot this before decorating in there
Course head ????
In-killination?
first
also great build mike love how good you are at explanations
second
Like every frame, the sponsor is also square
Was you drunk when you posted this video, only simple mistakes but a lot of them misspelled titles, mispronounced “inaclana-action” (inclination) then calling a course thread screw a course head and fine head, no such thing 😂
