@@ModAnonMTG pretty much. It also leaves a lot of room for the land base to contribute to your acceleration or interaction. Think cradle and Boseiju.

I build all my decks with 29 or 30 lands. As long as I run enough ramp and card draw to justify it, we chillin.

that's basically the idea! Run as many as you need, make sure you have ways to find them

Love this Mod! Such a considered position to present. I do think EDH suffers from the outdated templating formula of X Lands, Y Draw, Z Ramp. When in reality it needs to be much more deliberate and intentional to the core strategy of the deck.

if you look through all of the deck lists in the format, you'll notice that, including rituals, almost every deck will have about 42-45 mana sources

Makes a lot of sense! Mana is the bottleneck for everything because every deck wants to cast a certain amount of its spells. Distributing how you make those mana production slots can differ a lot though
