That Bar you’d pass back on 5th. & Olney was once a Go Go bar many years ago now it’s called Sips plus a Donuts Plus is right across the street from there because I’ve always come through there .
Grew up in Olney from 1988 when I was 4, and we moved out in 1999. I’ve missed it so much ever since I left, even though it’s changed so much :( walked home from school at Lowell on 5th every day, went to the library, walked to fisher park, walked to the Olney plaza when I was old enough. I dream I’m back on fairhill all the time! Omg Lowell got a playground now?! Nice! I’ve spent soooo much time at fisher park! They used to have an awesome haunted house there in that building!!!! And yes, we used to get scared in those woods… so much fun!!!
First movie theater i was ever in was at 5th and Fern ...Fern Rock movie theater....Fishers park was where we used to bomb cars with snowballs a lot of good hiding spots ...and keg parties
Also I noticed in that Olney shopping plaza the Shop Rite still operates after all these years...Along 5th St where you were, there was Zapfs Music Store and School Corp site...Zapfs had another location in Pennsauken NJ at one time...
I lived in olney in the 70s and 80s. I bought my charvel Jackson at Zapfs in 1987, still have it in mint condition. I also worked at spains cards and gifts on 5th street. Was such a nice neighborhood back then, such a shame.
Sorry but this is heartbreaking….. I knew Fishers park by heart… too many years ago … so many memories of carefree , safe , playful days. Nothing can bring back those days ….

In fisher park I used to ride my bike down one of those rollercoaster trail. We used to call it “Deadman hill” it was pretty scary considering how tall and fast you go down hill but it was a lot fun. The one you went down was for starters lol Also there once’s was a rumor that their was a naked guy living in that forest… some say he’s still there.

4:04 to 4:11 was the former Schwartzwald Inn. A very popular restaurant for dinners and celebrations.
When I made my holy communion we had a dinner party there
The Septa bus 47 along 5th St which goes to South Philly used to be a long trolley route...
Also I noticed in that Olney shopping plaza the Shop Rite still operates after all these years...Along 5th St where you were, there was Zapfs Music Store and School Corp site...Zapfs had another location in Pennsauken NJ at one time...
I remember Zapf’s Music Store.

Alley way.
I also forgot Halloween on 5th Street, sledding at Fisher Park in the winter.
Looks dirty in comparison to when I was a kid growing up there. Many homes are not being kept up, looks run down.

I grew up in Olney. I didn’t call it Ol An Knee. Also, it’s FRONT and Olney, not FIRST and Olney. I think this is the narrator’s first trip to Olney.
It’s definitely my first trip in Olney. That’s my gimmick I get lost in neighborhoods on my scooter . The strip Mall is called first and olney.
