Why does the box have the same graphic design as Ganz Shon Clever?

Because the American publisher is the same and they wanted it to fit in their roll and write line, hence the ad on the side of the box?

This is an good traveling game with the kids. Pass some time on the plane, train, car, airport etc. Fits simply into a ziplock bag along with a little pencil sharpener and off you go.

You could house rule passing the colored pencils to your left before flipping a new card.

My 5 year old loves it. Non gamers and non gamer kids love it. Super approachable.

I get the feeling Uwe designed this in maybe an afternoon. If it took even that long. It is so basic.
Not that that is necessarily bad, but like Tom said, what makes this stand out in any way?

@@ryusorata He probably just noticed a copy of "Silver & Gold" at a shop and thought: "This can be done simpler."

    1. I like the first edition graphics way better, weird Tetris colors are overdone. I prefer the more subdued and sophisticated look of the older version.
    2. The game is more difficult with more players and thus better in my opinion. Every time a player takes a second chance the game shortens by half a turn. Taking average cards it would take 16 turns to fill your grid, but there are 20 turns worth of cards in the deck. You need those extra second chances to ramp up the tension.
    3. This game is all about the spatial push-your-luck placement mechanic. You should ignore the "roll and write" aspect when deciding if it is for you.

I agree totally about1st version looking so much nicer!
Wished they would reprint back in original.
FLGS said they have sold lot less because of 2nd edition.

Hey Tom, love your video. Can you do top 10 negotiation board games?

There have been a lot of these "Ehh, it's alright" verdicts lately. What does that seal look like? I envision it's just Tom shrugging.

Oh come on, Tom! Resist the temptation to laminate this. Just buy a plaid notepad, if you ever ran out. (Which is quite unlikely anyway, because how meh you were on the game.) Nevertheless I agree, I would fill in the plaids with some ball pen or marker rather than the provided colour pencils to make scoring easier.

European version by Pegasus Spiele looks much better. Anyway this game is far better than Patchwork Doodle

The European version (from Pegasus Spiel, I think) looks so pretty compared to this trash.
