    Used to own this board but sold it for the lost RNF 96. I found this board worked best only on really good waves / conditions.

      Agree, it does not like mushy waves. It nedds walled up/steeper waves. Im living in indo so wave quality is not an issue. Super fun board.

      Do you ride the RNF96 as a twin? I’m stuck deciding at the moment and the RNF is appealing!

      @@michaelallsop9986 Yeah but also as a 2+1 on bigger days. The RNF96 has way more wave variety without sacrificing performance although the peppa twin felt so good on backside. Also, i have large feet and found the peppa twin tail a little too narrow for me haha

      Hey Charles!
      Yes, it preferred better waves, or waves with a little more push! I think someone who surfs at an advanced level would get this moving well in more average surf and find it’s sweet spot there, but for me it was better in bigger (3ft and +), and better/cleaner waves ✌️

      Hahaha! I think it was a shave and haircut.
      It comes in cycles…

    Hi Craig, how would you compare to the BV2 and which would you prefer? thanks.

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  Год назад +1

      Hey! The BV2 sits just above this more towards a shortboard with its extra length and thruster/2+1 setup, and probably can grovel through less than average waves a little better…
      No real preference, they are different boards and both could sit in the quiver ✌️

    Thanks for the review, which futures template do you recommend for that board, that bests suit ? 5:13

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  Год назад

      Hey! I’d probably start with the T1 or T2, but then maybe even look at the BMT or AMK for a fin that sits kind of between an upright and a keel. I know you can get Christensons in Captain in Futures, but I think it’s a different template, but not 100% sure…

    Thanks. Can you compare to twins man and lame splitter? For someone considering all three?

    • @TheSurfboardGuide

      Hey! All very similar to be honest, I got a lot of questions about this on Instagram.
      They surf similarly, and demand similar types of waves, so it’s probably a question if you want an Album, Christenson, or a Chilli 😂

    Has a very Christenson Nautilus look about it.

      Through the front end, yeah.
      My Nautilus was a much longer board than this, and I kinda surfed it as more of a step up ✌️

    One would think by now surfboard manufacturers would have realized that you copy what works best and experiment from there. This board didn't look like you wanted to ride it.

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  Год назад

      I think surfboard shapers would be doing that, but those who are legitimate designers with experience and skill would be wanting to put their own mark on that to hopefully improve, or to mark their spot in the Surfboard marketplace.
      Strange comment though about me not wanting to ride it… definitely wanted to ride it, but also liked it (and hopefully the footage shows it) in waves with a little more push.
      The flat bottom doesn’t generate speed in average waves like a single concave would, but then when you get speed on the flat bottom it feels nice how it moves and carves through waves with a little more push ✌️

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  Год назад +1

      There’s waves in here where the water is kinda brown - this is small and really weak, but hopefully shows the board still goes, but enjoyed the other waves/surfs in the clip where there was more push 💪

      @rctrix9063 Год назад +1

      @@TheSurfboardGuide I have never been a fan of rockers with flat spots. They have a very stop go feel.
      As for not wanting to ride it, I didn't mean you hated the board. With so many choices you usually express which board you bounced back to.
      Thanks for replying. You do a very entertaining show 👍

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  Год назад +1

      @@rctrix9063 the flat bottom wanted steeper better waves so it wasn’t on flat water all the time, as then you needed to work it.
      I really liked, and actually want to order a custom a little shorter/wider/thicker - something like 5’7 @ 33L 👌

      @@TheSurfboardGuide We usually have to surf what waves are dished up. If you only take one board to the beach it's nice if it works with those waves. Of cause nothing works for every kind of surf.
      The board that works for say Noosa and Treachery, is a mid but that's a compromise you can debate.
      Thanks again. 😁👍
