I demo'd the 6'8" and was super impressed, even in 2-3ft mushy onshore conditions. I'm a 6'2" 100kg 42yo intermediate, and after having surfed 6'6" Softech TC performance series and 7ft Something Special model boards for years I found this one waaaay more lively and responsive as it felt considerably lighter and stiffer. The 51L of volume was ample to catch even knee high waves, it turned on a dime and did easy floaters on end section whitewash. For a foamy it's the best I've ever tried, but unfortunately the futureflex soft construction is no longer available - the new soft top models now have a stringer and are epoxy only (no carbon rails), and were heavier. Unfortunately the demo board wasn't for sale (it was the shop owners), so if you find one grab it!

If you havnt switched the fins to a twin + trailer then your missing out. Game changer

@ThunderBasketball22 nice I prob should of went with the Mashup. I just got the the actual epoxy version of the hypto and a bit shorter. Waiting for it to be delivered. Figured I'd get good at the real thing b4 switching shapes haha

Hi. Are the rails to thick to surf vertical waves? The thing is that I am not sure which board should i buy, if a mid lenght or a haydenshapes soft....
hi mate, i'm assuming you mean vertical/steep/hollow waves, yes..? these softies can handle them to some extent. but yes the rails are bulkier than their pe/epoxy counterparts, the board is thicker too. a 'proper' midlength board might give you more performance in the rail department, but then there's all the other design factors to consider also (eg- length/swing weight/template etc), to find what works best for you in your waves you usually ride. be aware that this particular HK Soft apparently has better (stiffer etc) rails than the newer ones released, so try to look at older stock if possible to help your decision. hopefully you find what you're looking for! good luck - KS
@@kookshed Thank you very much for your help. Last question, I have a JS Monsta box 6.4 39lts. Malibu 7.0 47 litres. 93 kg, 1,74 m. I go once every month to the water, but I surf since my 12 yrs and have 45 now. Will this board add value to my quiver? I mean I would like to have the 6.8 55lts to paddle in rip currents and catch more waves. I have afraid of being (because it is a softboard) to slow and the feeling will be much worse than an epoxuy board
good question mate. i would say unless you're after a softboard like this for a specific reason, maybe a 'normal' epoxy or PU/PE board would suit you better. you could maybe look at an Epoxy or even PE Hypto Krypto roughly around the same size you were thinking, they are very versatile and perform very well! if the price is a deterrent, maybe you can find a used one for cheaper? there's also some other great models out there that might fill the gap in your quiver better than the HS soft if traditional board feel/performance is a concern. hope this helps! good luck -KS

How does it compare to your 'normal' Hypto Krypto? And what fins do you use in both boards?
they are definitely very different due to materials etc mate, the normal HK is lighter, faster and more responsive for sure, a 'proper' board. But the soft HK is definitely usable, fun and has its place. In the softboard i've just been using the plastic thruster fins, and the Hypto i've been trying out 2+1 setups and really liking that! hope this helps -KS
