Same! I was always excited to see this commercial when it came on! Later on I found out it was directed by the same guy who did Moulin Rouge which also had Nicole Kidman and that was one of my favorite movie of all time.

THIS is THE commercial. One of the best ads ever realized. I can’t remember any other one as beautiful as this one. The concept, the music, the costumes, the gorgeous photography and direction by B.L…and of course the astonishing, ethereal Nicole Kidman at the peak of her beauty. It just doesn’t get any better. It makes you dream and totally draws you in. Legendary.

I agree. There's no ad as good as this one and I believe it's not just Nicole's talent that helped make it one of the best ads. The fact that she's a very classy woman just made this ad so much better. She just exudes class, beauty, and theatrical taste above all. Nowadays you don't see classy actresses like her.
I remember seeing this Chanel ad at the movies. We both gasped at how beautiful it all was and how extraordinarily beautiful Nicole Kidman looked here. Her dresses, the first flowing pink one and the black one at the end with the diamond necklace hanging from, her back. We thought it was a upcoming movie. The whole ad had a look and feel of an ultra glam romantic movie. And then it showed it was an advertisement at the end. We were bummed but it was satisfying, all those emotions were wonderful to feel in a mini movie ad. 😍

I finally found it after almost 20 years! I remember seeing this ad in the theater when I was a kid and I fell in love with it, only to never see it again (save small snippets once or twice in passing).
I had been looking for it a couple of weeks ago only to give up since the only memory I had of it was the chain she wore on her back (which I thought said V-5 for years and was a jewelry ad).
However, someone from the recent Nostalgia Critic commercial video mentioned it, which sparked an interest in me since it sounded familiar, and lo and behold... here it was!
I'm so glad I found this commercial again after all these years! It makes me feel so warm and like a lovesick little kid again. 🥰

Just revisited this after decades, then I realised Nicole Kidman is one of the best actresses of our generation. I think she's been great, and I like most of her works, but the ending of this commercial expresses bewilderment, happiness and sorrow in just secs. That's super impressive!

I can't actually believe that this is a serious comercial that costed +$10M!! horribly done.
It seemed so synthetic that I couldn't conceal my shame for all the hard work and the legacy Gabrielle worked extremely hard to create UNIQUELY. in her time she broke the barriers for women and the fashion industry itself. It is a shame because I recall as a child, flicking through my mama's Vogue magazine's and seeing the often and beautiful promotion photo for this perfume and "film". the well-known shot of Nicoles back with the low back cut dress and the iconic chanel necklace.
